lil_me - thanks for the info on the psoriasis, I am such a worrier, everything seems to be really making me worry at the mo. And I know its completely ridiculous, think of all the things that could be wriong with him and here I am worried about a few wee hairs coming out. He is a sensitive wee soul (wonder where he gets that from
:rotfl: ) so I do worry about him being picked on or whatever. Its really good to know it wont happen, thanks for reassuring me.
On an OS/MSE note out lovely neighbours just came down to see if we wanted a bike seat for the back of our bikes for any of the kids. They didn't want any money or anything, We already have one which is earmarked for number 3 , DD who is 2 1/2 will be too big by the time I am reayd to get on a bike again, and DS is 4 so has his own bike. But how kind of them to offer

Everyone banished..
Hubby just being sent out for a run.. he was one of the worst on holiday.. he decided to get an ear infection the first night there so kept me awake the whole night and spent 2 days whinging his ear hurt.. in the end I drugged him senseless and that shut him up.. I said the drugs are obviously working so he whimpered pathetically and said it still hurt I said it can't do you've shut the f*** up whinging!!!! Anyway he has AB's from the emergency doctor and seems to be healing... thank goodness!!!
DS1 was left at home (his choice!)
DD1 started her period the first day.. need I say more??
DS2 was 'special' and kept wandering off.. it too us 10 minutes to find him one time by which point I was frantic and he was still totally oblivious!!
DD2 wasn't too bad!!
DS3 was horrific.. nasty and cheeky and rude and obnoxious and a gigantic pain in the rear!! Oh.. and he woke everyone up at god-forsaken-o'clock
DD3 didn't stop whinging at all.. not even when asleep!!!!
DD4 was so tired because the others kept her awake she spent the last 2 days whinging and crying.. she is at it right now!!!!
DD5 was, for her, pretty good.. but how much food can that child tuck away??? She is like a waste disposal unit!!!
I wanted to come home before we even got there!!! We had been on the bus about 20 minutes and DS3 started saying he didn't feel very well.. by 40 minutes he was throwing and by the time we had been on the bus an hour we had 2 buckets full of sick, I was covered, hubby was covered and the 2 chillies were covered.. and the journey was 2 hours.. then hubby had to walk through a cafe with loads of people eating to empty the buckets.. and he blocked the loo!!!
#all in all a lovely time was had by nobody and we are alldelighted to be home.. just got to sneak these stinky shells in the bin.
Oh they found a dead fish on the beach which provided great entertainment for all!! Especially hubby!!! (geek!!)LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I got each down to a fine art so it only takes a few seconds to do most stuff.. I think unloading the DW takes longest.. and is the most tedious.
I should time myself on most of these!!
I have 2 with psoriasis as well.. one has it on her legs and arms.. though it seems to have dispapeared at the moment.. which is fab.. and DD1 has it on her scalp as well which is pretty gross when she has big scales of skin floating in the hair.. she doesn't lose much with hers thankfully!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Now, on the subject of reassurance, can anyone offer me some for this problemette (maybe I should post on the Families board but I feel as if I know you lot better:) ): as you know DS starts school, in 2 weeks. He is HOPELESS at not wetting himself, knows perfectly well what to do etc just can't be bothered, too busy playing, doesn't want to stop etc so just goes in his pants a bit, and doesnt even care about sitting in wet pants. Occasionally he will go and change himself but mostly doesnt bother. He only ever goes to the loo to wee when I remind him, and then there is always a huge argument because he won't go willingly. He has no fear or anything, just wants to continue playing.
I don't really need any ideas of what to try (shout vs don't shout, ignore vs don't ignore, bribe, reward, stickers, big toys, sweets, discipline, "punish" and so on) I have tried the lot. And its not as if he is new to the game, he's been out of pants 20 months.
e turned 4 in June and so is one of the younger ones in the class.
Anyway I am worried about what will happen at school. I am planning to go in the week before he starts to talk to the teacher anyway. But its driving me crazy worrying about it now.
He is mornings only for the first term. We will leave the house at 8.30 for him to start at 9, he stops at 11.30. By the time we walk home it will be 12. So 3 1/2 hours. He will have to go at some poont during that time, even if he holds it til I get there, then do I go into school and take him ? Surely I won;t be alowed (let alone want) to do that every day.
I seriously doubt he will tell the teacher if he wants to go.
Specific questions:
1. Will the teachers take/send them all at snack/break time ?
2. Should I be sending a spare pair of pants and/or trousers in his bag ?
3. Will the teacher change him or does he have to get it himself (oh god just thought of another worry, he is terrible for wandering arpund with his trousers round his ankles and did this at nursery as well. !!!!!! what if he does it at school)
4. IOf he wets himself and it shows will the other kids make fun of him ?
5. We have told him he isnt having juice cos it makes him wet himself - if he tells the other kids this will they make fun of him ?
6. If he wets and it smells and he doesnt tell the teacher and just sits in it, will the other kids make fun of him (can you see the theme here of what is really worrying me).
In January he starts full time and will need to go at least twice in the day if not more. I know Jan is a long way off but thats what everyone said to me about September and now here we are 2 weeks away.
I really hope someone has been through this and can reassure me, I so dont want him to go through being the kid that gets laughed at for wetting himself because clearly that isnt going to help. He already is quite quiet and not one of the pushier ones and I cant bear the thought of him being excluded or not making friends etc. And no he has this psoriasis thing in his scalp so he will be the bald smelly kid who wets himself wwwaaaahhhhh it just make me cry
Right will stop the angst now.
Cheers for any helpful thoughts!

I'd make sure you talk to the teacher Jill, as it is possible that your little one won't be the only one who does this, and perhaps she can remind him or ask if one of the classroom assistants can do this.
I bet most of the kids have an accident at some point, and it is something that he will grow out of.Trust me, i hae never had a kid at secondary school wetting themselves.
Otherwise, i am so far from potty training i don't think i can suggest anything else useful.
Flying - a bit done, but we went for a lovely walk (about an hour) fed the geese, and then had an ice cream, so we were out for a good bit.- weekly shop done
- charlie's bed changed, and his bedding hung out which i washed yesterday but hadn't dried
- charlie bathed x2
- DH 3/4 filled our new green bin after he had cut the lower lawn, and done a bit of pruning. We were waiting for it to arrive before tackling the jungle
- sat in the garden and blew bubbles for Charlie to chase
- Charlie decided to try and eat grass and stick his fingers in the cover over the drain - grim boy
- WM - one load of Charlie's vests/babygros - now in TD as i forgot to hang out and i had to do something with it as the airers were full
- discovered one of the cats has fleas again, so one has been force fed a tablet, the other is still to do, and no doubt i need to hoover as i have been a lazy !!!!!! and not done it all week. scruff that i am
We quite often do this - kill yourself with exercise on bank holidays. I think it makes us feel better for not doing any most of the rest of the year
so anyway, off to help with prep for tomorrow then a glass of mummy medicine.
and some chocolate. will be back on board big style next week with a big push for having a spotless house for the beginning of school term.

I think it says to use a swiss roll tin but I use a 8x8 for smaller but thicker squares!
Brilliant:T , thanks for that Solwaykid - all I need now is an excuse to try it. Maybe I'll make some next week as a "last week of freedom" treat!

Now, on the subject of reassurance, can anyone offer me some for this problemette as you know DS starts school, in 2 weeks. He is HOPELESS at not wetting himself
This I CAN help with...
My middle girl (7 in December) Is unbelievable.. she will wet herself 2 seconds after getting off the loo. She is still in nappies for bed.. and it costs a small fortune!!
HOWEVER... She has only ever wet herself twice at school!!!!!
They are usually made to go to the loo at every opportunity.. coming into class, going out of class, after juice/snack time.
I did mention it to her teacher when she first started and she made a point of asking her if she wanted to go if she had not beenfor a while and I also told DD that if she needed to loo she could go whether the teacher said she could or not.. and she has a couple of times not been able to get the teachers attention so has just left the class to go pee.. I made the teacher aware of this as well!!
She would wet herself 2-3 times a day at nursery and it just didn't happen at school, and I had the same concerns as you.
and if he does wet himself a couple of times, so what, he is only little.. and it is perfectly natural that a few of the children will have accidents during school times.. the teachers are used to it and if they can't handle it they are working with the wrong age group!!!
Because the school day is a little more structured than nursery days their attention is broken more often, they aren't left doing one task until they are bored with it and move on they are moved from one task to another so this breaks that 'play=pee' pattern.
DD3 has actually been better since she started school.. if that helps.. maybe some of it is down to maturity but the inclination to wet herself seems to lessen during term time, and off school we are back to wetting herself a few times a week. I do make her go before we leave school in the evening too because usually she is wetting herself by the time we get home (or already done it!) Dance class on a Saturday means wet pants.. she cannot get from dance class to home.. despite the fact I ALWAYS pee her before we leave DC.. she it wet by the time we get home. Hubby picks her up occasionally and will wee her at dance class, in the park halfway home and she STILL wets when she gets in.. she is a nightmare.. but according to the GP it isn't an issue until she is 7!!! Laughable it is, but they don't have to wash 2-3 lots of bedding a night do they?!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
