Hi - onto second glass!!!
I was trying to be creative with the calendar - eg April - kids in wellies & brollies (for showers), July - kids in wetsuits with boogy boards, January - kids in scarves and hats. Where I can;t think of an idea I was going to fill in with kids peeking from behind a door - kids all in our bed in pjs etc. Nothing too clever - just using things we have around the house!
Just thought of some more!!!! September - in school uniform, October in witches/wizards dressing up outfits!0 -
That's cool and I bet they'll love the dressing up! It's one of those projects you could do long term, my ex-mother in law had a lovely set of framed pics of her farmhouse taken from the same place in the four seasons and with the fields beside at varying stages. Good luck with it!One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

I'll let you know how I go tomorrow! Mind you - with such demanding models - I'd better see if I can get any hints and tips from David Bailey!!0

FLYlady comes from an American idea, www.flylady.net is the original site, lots of info on there as to how it started etc, this is our own 'version' of it.
Ginger Girl that calendar idea sounds great, how do you put it together ? Is it done by sending the photos away to make into a caendar or do you do it yourself? One day I might be more organised...........

lil_me Not wishing to steaop Ginger Girls thinder
but I made calendars for grandparents last year along same theme, they loved it. Meant to take "seasonal" pics throughout the year this year but forgot again. I just used MS Word, you click New Document and when asked what type you can select Calendar, Calendar Wizard or something.
I then just used Insert -> Picture-> From File... to paste in my photos.
It was a bit fiddly to centralise the photos etc but when printed out on nice photo paper they looked fab. I used poster strips to bind them all together and my Mum and Dad have thers hanging up in the kitchen
But also recommended to me (by someone on MSE) was this site:

Ginger Girl, I'll be really interested to see how you will do yours as I'm sure there is a better way than the way I did it.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Oh great idea, I'll be very honest
I've never made any Xmas presents ever, just not something I have ever done, spent over £1000 on family last year (not including boys or DP) in fact when I work it out properly most likely closer to £2000, so I need to try and reduce it a little. Might look into that, thanks
**Argh just looked, this laptop is on MS Word 2007 and I can't find calendar, anywhere! will have to check the other PCs tomorrow. One day I might be more organised...........

oh good grief I cant believe I am strill up, am so going to suffer for it tomorrow .....
Hubs and I both have Word 2003. I had a look online and found this http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/templates/CT101425391033.aspx?av=ZWD000 maybe you can just download a template ? I presume they are free, not sure.
Last year I was very stingey at Christmas as hubby didnt draw a salary from his business for several months in a row
I made the calendars for the grandparents, and for the ladies in the family I bought glass bottles of bubble bath, soaked off the labels and used glass paint to paint them. They turned out quite nice, I was fairly pleased. Other than that I haven't made a lot, I am not great at baking so wouldnt pass my efforts off as gifts!! I did save the inside sheets of advent calendars last year to make HM choc shapes, thought I might do something with those this year, you know when you end up buying crummy packs of sweets for neighbours kids etc. On the OSChristmas thread there are loads of people making up hampers etc. Very inspirational. I always find it hard to save money on blokes' presents though.
Everyone is getting vouchers or online gifts from me this year, will be too busy with baby for any proper shopping (I have bought for all the kids I really need to buy for already :j )

just to add I feel really guilty as I have just squished the most enormous spider
It was running about frantically rather close to my feet  and my dressing gown which is lying on the floor and I sort of panicked and trod on it really hard. Urgh its made me go all shivery, and it left a nasty mark on the carpet. Serves me right. All spider lovers please don't be cross with me, it was gigantic
It must be getting to that time of year when they all start`coming indoors.. Its the second humungous one in the front room this week.Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Good Morning
Wow can't believe that no one else has posted this morning yet! Guess you are all either in bed or up and out enjoying the sun.
Great idea for the calendars might do some of those for Nannie and Grandad for Christmas
Well I didn't have such a good nights sleep, was think about whether to take the kids in the caravan for a few days next week. Need to check we can get on a site before I mention it to them.
Hopefully today mum and dad will finally get their balloon ride, keep your fingers crossed that the weather stays calm.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Morning everyone,
I'm determined to catch up on the flying today as I haven't done any proper flying for a few days, and now I've bought some antibacterial wipes (I know, not very OS) I can clean the phones, keyboard, mouse, toilet etc.
Ebony (my 3-legged cat) is doing better and better every day. He can now jump onto our bed by himself (which I missed when he couldn't as he usually curls up with me), and this morning, he jumped into the bath by himself cos he wanted a drink from the tap. I'm really pleased - I feel like a parent whose child has just walked for the first time.
I went to work last night at the pub, and it was really busy (cos of the bank holiday I suppose) and very hot! I was working with another girl who I hadn't met before, and she was really nice. She said that the other girls who I also haven't met are really nice too, and they all go out together when they aren't working. One of them is also a teacher of special needs children, so it will be interesting when I meet her, as this is something I have considered too. They are also all vegetarian like me. I made £6 in tips last night, which is a little better than what I made during the day, but my sister is making about £30 in tips in her job, so think I will still see if I can work at Zizzi if they are willing to take me on. She said she would ask last night, so will call her later to see how it went.
Well, I'd better go and have my shower, get dressed and eat brekkie, and will come back on later (I promise this time) to tell you all what I have achieved.
Take care everyone, and happy flying,
