That's the ones my local Metro (not London, by the way) has installed previously. They enabled contactless straight away so hopefully your store will follow suit.

Now Tesco Bank are allowing their Credit Card customers to use Apple Pay I'll call into the Metro next Monday when I'm in town.

Failing that I'll be doing my food shopping at a Tesco Extra near Sandiacre so will see if they've the same terminals and contactless enabled.

  • I've not had much luck with contactless payments either, never work for me in Morrisons on the self service tills and once you select contactless, try swiping and it doesnt work (asks for insert card instead) I can't get it to go back to the menu so I can try a different card either.

Seems to work in my Aldi no problems. My tesco doesn't have contactless. Boots never works.. Morrisons works always at main till (just not self service). Whole thing is quite poor.

Has anyone got cashback for October purchases yet? Sorry if I've missed it I haven't read every page just the last few.

teething troubles. Our grand kids won't believe us when we tell them that once upon a time there were any shops that didn't accept contactless. Or that we had to / liked to use cards, or coins and notes to make payments.

If last month is anything to go by, you should be getting that sometime in the dying days of November.

7th transaction required PIN as usual - I thought it might so I risked it for £2.80.

Forgive me if you already know this, but in Boots there's a separate button to press if you want to use contactless - you don't just hit the debit/credit card button. I've found them one of the stores which works every time.

My £5 cash back for October received today. My wife got £4.39 even though my spreadsheet has her down as spending just over £108! It would be good if there was some sort of breakdown available.

Ooh yes, mine is here too. I only opened the account midmonth then spent 10 days in Spain but managed to get £1.50 which will do me. This month should be better.

Pretty sure this is the case, I always have to say I'm paying by contactless at boots.

I tend to use the Self Service tills at my local Boots and there's an option on the screen for contactless payments.

When I've been served by a cashier I've had to state I want to use contactless otherwise they put it through as a Chip and PIN transaction.

I've had my first cash back payment - 59p

I hope next month I will do better than that, unfortunately the best place I can use it is in M & S and I have some gift cards for there to use up. I helped my family out by buying two from them, worth £50 each which they were given as presents, as they don't shop there.
