I don't want to speak too soon but I've done 6 contactless transactions since I opened the account and it hasn't failed yet. I have done a cash withdrawal in the middle of the run of transactions to reset the pin (and one before doing contactless for the first time) but it seems to be working fine for me so far.0

I had my first failure today. Fortunately I was only spending a fiver so I just let it go through as C&P. Interestingly, I initially did 6 transactions before getting nervous and making a small cash withdrawal, but only managed 4 further transactions before today's failure. That does lead me to wonder whether the withdrawal made any difference.0

When you buy an Amazon GC for £25 in Morrisons, do you get a fuel voucher for 2.5p? I thought it was in multiples of £50.
Still, it was 16p a litre off a tankful of petrol; I just feel it should really have been 20p....0 -

Must admit although I'm getting cashback, sometimes, the actual reward of about £5 a month represents a very poor rate of return for all the shenanigans, thought, planning, refusals etc.
In fact although its good, its rubbish:(0 -

Nail on head. It's a very hard way to earn a fiver, but if you're lucky enough to have two cards it's £120 a year. And added to some other little tricks it's a few hundred and pays for a holiday.
That's how I look at it, so I'll carry on for now.0 -
Just tried to pay my £20 Road Tax using contactless at the PostOffice.
Not accepted and said Insert Card.
Clerk said TSB is the only one they have a regular problem with for contactless and that it is possible to pay Road Tax with contactless.
Another annoying refusal. £1 lost.0 -
I've already said it somewhere (sorry if it's on this thread!) that I was told when I phoned the bank after countless refusals of the contactless, that if you start the transaction as contactless and then it demands your PIN that it will count as contactless!
It's really a pain here as so few businesses accept contactless , so if I can get to £50 I am fortunate!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I simply don't do enough spending(!). And the grocery shopping I do do already gets 10% discount...and very occasionally 20%, and when I re-fuel I spend £70-80 plus and can't be bothered splitting it up and re-fuelling more often.
Am another one who doesn't rely on this.
Like many on here I have multiple CAs where the debit card doesn't make it outside the house.
I do, at least, carry one of the TSB cards with me just in case.
The only place I've found that reliably (and without fuss) accepts this is TfL.
As such Londoners have a real advantage over us non big smoke residents (on this offer only!).0
