Hi jo, thanks fo rthe encouragment. ive just posted my first lot of ebay stuff, made £46 after charges for my first 3 items. i am on my own all weekend as oh is working and im off, i really have to get loads of stuff listed, im just so lazy! it will also help to get my house cleaned up

That's pretty good going! Most of my stuff is selling for not a lot, but then I knew it was junk to start with. At least it's selling and I can post it off to clutter up someone else's house!

I dont have many more things that will sell for good amounts but its nice to see spaces appearing in my spare room. i still have to sort out the old phone. i just need to remind myself that it all has to be gone before christmas as after that it will be a good few months before anything really sells for a good price.

just found out yesterday that i will be geting a payrise on 2nd december, it will work out at around £35 per month after tax i think. every little helps in getting rid of these debts.

so glad the boards are working this weekend, my oh is working all weekend and im in on my own. i know id spend a fortune if i couldnt spend the day on here. Ive been checking my bank balanced and all my direct debits have gone out so as soon as the money clears onto my accounts i will be sub 30k. cant believe how positive i still feel about becoming debt free, i honestly thought the novelty would have worn off by now. i think its only due to this site that im still going, so thanks to everyone for your support.

Thought I'd pop on and have a look see. You're focussing on ebay this weekend! I just don't know..... everybody says how rubbish sells, so I suppose I should really, as mine is definitely rubbish.... if I can relist my Amazon books, I might give it a go. I cant even think about ebay now, ive been waiting so long to get to the top of the list for nhs funding for fertility treatment, i just got a letter to see my consultant on friday. need to loose 6lbs but that is before the treatment actually starts. i know i can do it now i have this motivation.

anyone who has been reading my diary will know that lots of my debt came from private treatment with my x-husband. me and oh feel like we have waited forever for this appointment to come through, i just cant believe it is this year.

You sound like me, only a year behind as that's the way I felt last year after lightbulb moment in Aug 2006. I honestly thought it would be a fad (I'm a bit like that!!) but a year later and it's becoming more of a way of life. I still have my spendthrift moments, mind you!!

thanks to you and penguin for keeping your fingers crossed. i have to admit im so nervous about the appointment. my oh is so supportive about it but i have bad memories when i went through treatment with my x. that was a few years ago but the memories dont seem to fade, its that feeling when you know it has pailed, dont know how prepared i am for that. sorry for being miserable on saturday night, promise to cheer up now!

Hiya! Haven't seen you around for the past couple of days - assuming that's because you're spending every spare moment working out in the gym in preparation for Friday !!!

I know exactly what you and Chocaholic mean about this site - I was saying the same thing to my OH this afternoon (he lives in cloud-cuckoo-land half the time, and has very little idea how much there is to this site - he thinks that it's just something that makes various agencies spit free money out from time-to-time!). We both agreed that it is actually fun getting rid of debt - wouldn't have said that last year! Rather than spending spare time shopping, we spend it moving numbers around on spreadsheets and trying to find free money online.

Before this site, I thought there was no such thing as free money, and would have scorned anyone who said there was, but we all know better! And I've got no interest whatsoever in chat rooms and stuff like that, but since everyone here has the same goal it's totally different, and definitely addictive!
