it takes a very confident man to willingly post that pic on his own blog

saying that i'd love one of those if they made them in my size, maybe not in lurid pink but i'd wear one in a different colour

Just tried my new Primark pyjamas on - gosh, aren't they small!

Luckily I thought they looked on the small side, so I bought the 16-18 rather than the 12-14, but the bottoms are way smaller than the size 14 Asda ones I have! They fit, but I hope they don't shrink when I wash them! (or my bottom doesn't get any bigger ;))

Thanks for the heads up - Im current;y bumming around in some ethol austin size 18 - 20 ones from pregnancy that are lovely and comfy - think they are £6 but might be cheaper in 'closing down sale' but will be off to primark soon to get boy and babe some bits and bobs so fancy some winter shopping will get done. might even try and find boyfriend pyjamas although he doesnt like to wear the tops too much - although he might if i refuse the heating going on but have babe to think of this year so cant be too harsh with the no heating rule.

The man of the house doesn't like the traditional style pyjama tops so we buy t-shirt style ones and he's fine with them, we usually pay about £10 for a set with a long sleeved top, good for year round wear too.

"We dont like it dark and cosy, we like to be able to look out andf see the stars, but in winter it can be quite draughty. Is there anything I could do to lessen the draught without losing the light open feel of the room ?" oosted by Mardatha

Read this the other day and triggered a memory. Have you heard of a thing called alambrequin? Think it is pronounced "lamperkin" (or similar) - description below -

In modern interior design, the term lambrequin is used to describe an ornate cornice with sides. These window treatments feature a rigid frame structure extending across the top of a window and partially (or fully) down each side

Seems like a picture frame-type thing with an open middle. Thought you could make something similar and put curtains/perspex/voile in middle bit and fit to window frame (bit like secondary glazing). If the frame was wide enough it should cut out draughts but still allow light, and could be painted/decorated to suit.

I got some of the Asda cheapy fleeces last year and they wash really well. I sewed some together and hung them on curtains wires that I put round the stairwell (we've got the open plan stairs in the living room thing too) and it worked well at stopping the drafts.

Love the look of the "all in ones" - I used to have them as a teenager....going to the loo was always left to the last moment, we had no heating aside from an electric fire in the living room so having to climb half out of a cosy all in one for a pee was torture.

LOL at the all in ones. My husband says if I dare wear one of those we are never having "relations" ever again:rotfl: Sounds cheap at that price to me! ;)

I have just started a 'Winter Emergency Box' :D

A lidded plastic crate which now contains my camping stove and camping pans, a torch, two packets of salt and a lighter! Need a few more things, like fuel for the camp stove - not much use in a power cut without that :rotfl:

So, I have made a list:

    Fuel for camp stove
    Candles
    Wind up radio
    Salt or grit for path
    Shovel for path
    Wellies
Medicines & tissues (got most of these last month when I had an extra points voucher for Boots)
    Pyjamas, 2+ (got 1 pair)
Flannelette bedding, 2 sets (got 1)
    Lined curtains for bedroom
    Thermal underwear, 2 new sets
    Hot water bottle
    Draught excluders, 3
Stock up on dried, tinned and long life food and drink, and loo rolls!

My jumpers, coat, gloves, scarves, hats and shoes are fine, so no need for any more this year - I think I have enough to buy!

I think if I can get most of that I'll be toasty warm and prepared for any emergency :D

Oh, and my first Christmas catalogue arrived in the post today! World Wildlife Fund... mostly stuffed toys, they used to do loads of expensive little ornaments for me to drool over...
