Hi DS, I wondered how you were getting on. Can you not change the rooms round and use the livignroom for a bedroom or a store room? Re slankets I think they're bloody dangerous things. If the phone went or the door I would jump up to answer it and THUD !0

Hello Mardatha
Thanks for thinking about me, I'm fine, but seriously broke!!! I'm glad it's not just me that would go flying in a slanket. They were all the rage last year and have come down in price. I'd really like an electric throw, that would be fab but I only have £20 in my Amazon account at the moment - just a few more surveys.....yawn!
The stairs go up from my living room, one of the main reasons why it's so cold always, even in the summer. No way of blocking them up unfortunately, due to stupidly huge stairwell which extends into the room quite unnecessarily. Oh if only this were my house... though there's a chance I might move into a cottage a friend is doing up and making available for rental. There's someone before me in the queue but they're uncertain - fingers crossed. Will know sometime around Christmas.
Off for walk around lake now - 5 miles circular in warm misty rain. Lovely and atmospheric - with lure of dairy milk at the end!

Almost finished another sock, when this pair is done I have to tackle the 4 needle ones!!![/QUOTE]
If you get stuck with the four needle socks look on You Tube. I was really struggling earlier in the year but found a step by step guide and have since knitted 4 pairs ( bit of a sock addict now) Guess what everyone is getting for christmas this year0 -
I have been lurking on this thread and now I can finally join in!
For the past few years I've been meaning to get some cosy flannelette bedding, but it never seemed to happen (I did have a couple of sheets, but they were singles and my bed's a double, so they never fitted properly and ended up being used to line my living room curtains!) Then yesterday I was walking past a bedding shop with a sale advertised... went for a nosy... got myself a flannelette sheet set (fitted sheet, flat sheet and two pillows)I'm on the look out for another now (they only had the one left), for when that's in the wash.
Need a new hot water bottle too, I think Home Bargains have them. I should get one before it's freezing and everywhere sells out.
I'd love some lined curtains for the bedroom, but they are so expensiveI have very thin white curtains up, which are so pretty and just right, so I'm reluctant to line them. I need another set I can use in winter, then put my pretty curtains back when it's not so cold.
I saw some cheapish fleece blankets in Poundstretcher yesterday too, but I'm trying to convince myself I don't really need them! I have a cotton throw which lives over the back of the sofa, and if that's not warm enough then I get out my spare duvet and snuggle up under that. No, I need curtains, not more blankets!Refusing to Sit Down & Shut Up since 19740 -
Any one on the hunt for fleeces, asda have them on 2 for £3 and at the mo there is 20% off homewear so they would be £2.40 for 2! Had cream, red & brown ones.0

This just reminded me - last year I saw in B&M a hot water bottle with a football as a cover - think I might get one of those for Ben to cuddle up with - even if I make it up about 7pm ish and then chuck it in the bottom of his bed under the duvet for him going in at 8pm. Would be nice and snug for him.
Might even get a few for bed too - our room holds no heat and is shaded most of the day so doesn't get to heat up and the radiator seems to work when it pleases and we have babe sleeping in there too. Might see about getting her one of those cuddly animals that you can microwave.Time to find me again0 -

Oh, those are cheaper than the ones I saw in Poundstretcher, they were two for £4.99!sammy_kaye18 wrote: »Might even get a few for bed too
I like to have two, one for my feet and one to cuddleI have fluffy covers for them so they hold the heat well. Last year both started leaking though  I replaced one, but not the other, so I must sort that before it's cold!

I have bought both my girls thermal vests (the t-shirt shaped ones) from Primark today - €3 for a pack of two. The camisole-style ones were the same price but looked very flimsy to me...
Skint but happy with my lovely family
Hypnotherapy rocks :j0 -
Been out this afternoon and the card shop had the Christmas stock in cards, gift bags, paper etc countdown to Christmas / Winter0
