There's a few of us now sitting at our computers, heating off, wearing mini duvets from LIDL on their feet. Thank you Sexymouse for the wonderful pointer! My DD loves them too!

    Well I never!!

I saw some of those "duvet bootees" in the supermarket the other day and chuckled to myself -as I thought they were such a good idea, and could see everyone on here wearing them... now it looks as if you all are getting them :T .. I resisted as I can't stand anything on my feet  even in bed my feet have to be uncovered:o ....I may have to get my mum some -she normally has those greek slippers with the pompoms on :p -so im sure she won't mind the duvet ones :rotfl: Just need to make sure they are non slip -

Icemaiden :T , My hubby just leaves me to my own devices where shopping is concerned ;) .In fact he usually drives me -then sits in the car with a suduko - thats both of us happy :D and he loves cornedbeef so he won't mind how much I get... I can't believe how much it has gone up in the UK  .... My plan is to get what I need to see me through winter -things like veg suet -no-one is thinking about at the moment, but give it time and there will be a stampede and we can only get it in the NAAFI -so im getting mine before the rush starts ;) although its €1.99 / £1.60 a box here  -mind Im not giving up dumplings..ooohh no :D

So annoyed had to go back to Lidl as I bought the wrong size fitted sheet... Turned into a blessing though, went to Primark and their fitted sheets are all £4! Felt very smug at saving 99p! LOL

Got some lovely fluffy socks from ole Primani as well as some yoga wear and nightwear as I'm going into hospital soon. I saw some thermal socks 2 for £2, but honestly I 've spent so much today that I left them alone.

    So now I have:
    The radiator foil,
A brush draft excluder for the door.
    Comfy nightwear
Just need to put them on now! If I have enough energy I'll do that tomorrow.

My local poundland had two mini hot water bottles in, so if you need some it might be good to stock up.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

I bought a wind up lantern from a BP petrol station today.
I will have to sneak it in the house as OH already thinks I've lost the plot :D

  • Our house is just too cold - anyone know where is selling cheap duvets ? Our bed isn't too bad as we have two old ones but I feel sorry for anyone who comes to stay! Also a king sized one would be great for when the dk's come for a snuggle!
    Thanks

No mini duvet for me... Last year I bought four pairs of thick but light fleecy socks at £2.50 for two pairs, and boy do they keep my feet warm! I have also thick flannelette slacks and a fleecy top over one of my 'house' (ie old and past it) t-shirts.

In my stock there is also a nice fleecy dressing gown and five fleecy blankets. Fleece all over in here and I'm well kitted out for winter. :)

And old rolled up towels make perfect draught excluders for the doors... ;)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I've got a recipe for dumplings which uses vegetable oil and they are lovely and light. I'll dig it out and post it if you want. They should work out much cheaper than using suet.
