DH has just come back from a local garage (not sure which chain) who were selling wind up lanterns for £9.99. They look like the ones on the links previously in the thread which I seem to remember were £19.99.
Sent him back to fetch one.
Edited to say it was BP garage.0 -
After a lovely few days of sunshine we're now back to really chilly weather............I'm in a woolly jumper and cardigan with a scarf round my neck (none of my jumpers seem to come up high enough). Think tomorrow I'll drag my polo necked sweatshirt out and pop that under my jumper.
Definitely blanket over the knees when watching the tele. OH bought it for me the other Christmas and I've told him this year I'd like another to put round my shoulders.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I totally agree mary! I think our mini indian summer is over and the cold is creeping in.
I have purchased some very pretty little vests to keep myself extra warm and a lovely think fleece (charity shop bargain) is what I am wearing today! I have taken up crotchet/knitting after years of my mum saying I will get you going one day. She has enough wool to last until she is 273 so I am hoping to obtain some from her vast supply to make some blankets etc as you can never have too many and they keep you warm whilst you make them!;) I got a couple of fantastic vintage wool blankets from anothet charity shop on friday. They are cream with a stipe at each end and are a double size. I washed them and hung them in the sun and they are so snuggly soft ...I have purchesed them for the boys bunk beds so that the can be tucked in all the way round the sides iykwim!:j
I have finally figured out how to change the temp on the boiler controls so have reduced it by 10 degrees:eek: so its a matter of seeing how long now before I finally give in and put it on....I said November ...well we will see. I think the house is pretty much winter proofed! Not sure I am though.....JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

I would imagine www.tchibo.co.uk will be featuring flanalette sheets and duvet sets as it gets nearer to winter. Their quality is always excellent. Might be worth registering for the newsletter email which tells you what they feature each week.
I bought my partner a very nice check blue and white duvet with pillowcases and a flanalette double sheet. Very cosy it is too.
Today in a cheapo shop I bought these really far out tv viewing fleeces/blankets for £3.99 each.
They have a space to put your feet in and a pocket for the remote control. When not in use they fold up into their very own cushion cover!
Oh wow - they sound amazing! I want one!!! Any idea where I might find one?0 -
Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd post to tell you about something that you may be interested in - I'm currently wearing a pair of foot warmers that I bought in Lidl for 2.99 and my feet are nice and toasty - they are like duvets for your feet, and they have non-slip soles on them. I think they are meant to be worn in bed, but I'm wearing them whilst I sit at the computer as this when I tend to get really cold.
They are in this week's specials if anyone is interested in them. I bought a cream pair, but they also come in pink.
