Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd post to tell you about something that you may be interested in - I'm currently wearing a pair of foot warmers that I bought in Lidl for 2.99 and my feet are nice and toasty - they are like duvets for your feet, and they have non-slip soles on them. I think they are meant to be worn in bed, but I'm wearing them whilst I sit at the computer as this when I tend to get really cold.
They are in this week's specials if anyone is interested in them. I bought a cream pair, but they also come in pink.

I had to laugh Sexymouse, your user name and the thought of you sitting at your PC with mini duvets on your feet !, my DH laughs at me and my socks and stuff to keep warm. No offence meant at all, just SexyMouse with Duvet Feet tickled me.:D0 -
i want a pair fo like booty slippers. They look so toasty warm - only problem is i dont have a lidls that i can get to easily so will have to wait till little one is in school to nip over there.

Shes had her heating on for about a month now as its been so cold so ill go up there and steal a little bit of that before I have to go to specsavers for my eye test today - bleeding glaucoma - hate eye tests but hey ho its go tot be done.

Also need to get fleece blankets onto the boys beds too and put somethign under our bottom sheet as its been chilly the last few nights and our radiator in the bedroom isnt working.Time to find me again0 -

Morning all
Well I don't know what is happening here -but im sure we are in winter  ..
As much as it pains me I think we are going to start having to set our heating to start coming on for an hour before hubby gets up for work. I was up earlier than usual this morning and GOD was it nippy  . Hubby spends a lot of his time working outside -so I really don't want to be sending him out to work cold..
It will only go on for that hour before he gets up and that will be it for now ..
He has tootled off to work with a flask of thick HM soup and plenty of HM bread - he has some at mid morn break, some for lunch and then finishes it off at his afternoon break -he reckons it keeps him warmer that way -plus he doesn't feel stodged after lunch from eating the whole flask
Luckily our gas/electric comes straight out of hubbies wages every month with the rent... they came to read the meters yesterday -the first time in over a year  so lets keep our fingers crossed that we are due a refundor at least that we don't owe any
Im just finishing of working out our meal plans for now until xmas -a lot of things will turn up every week -our faves like corned beef hash n dumplings etc -so Im then going to work out how many tins of corned beef, how many boxes of suet etc i will need -Im then going to get them in and on the shelves with the other store stuff...
right back to the meal plan-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Sammy I bought a pair of short Ugg style boots in Primark for £5 to wear in the house.
They keep my feet snug and cosy and I am wearing them indoors every night now. I highly recommend them if you have a Primark nearby - and because they are sturdy they will probably last you all winter and beyond - assuming you don't wear them outdoors of course0 -

I got a pair of these last year and did wear them outside but only when it was dry. They are still going strong.:)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -

I got the cream ones too! How comfy are they? I think I might go back and get the pink pair as well.
I also picked up one of their 4.99 jersey double fitted sheets. Someone (not me honest!) had taken one out of the pack, so I had a quick feel and decided I needed it.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
 :shhh:
I've logged on here this morning to confess - I put the heating on last night.
Only for an hour, you understand, and I don't intend to do it again soon. I was tempted and I succumbed to the temptation.
I am thoroughly ashamed of myself and deserve to be struck off from MSE.
On a more positive note, we were visited by friends from the USA who bought us some of those 'duvet slippers' as a gift. They are lined with fur (fake, of course!) and stuffed with what i think is down. They are fantastic! Even better news, they bought us both size 7 and Mr L is a size 11 and so he's given me his pair as well!Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -
I think that I should have been struck off MSE about 4 months ago then, Lizzieanne. We only have one [very large!] wood stove for heating in our house and it's been on almost constantly all year  Our wood stocks for Winter are decimated
I too am wearing a pair of fluffy bootees around the house as slippers and they're wonderful. Unfortunately they're also 2 years old and will need replacing [just in time for Christmas, probably - there's an idea!] but have saved me from the dreaded cold floors for a long time already.
I'm intending [honestly] to go around and draughtproof our windows next week, put up curtain rails and make curtains the next fortnight [biiiiiiig curtains - 2 windows @ 4m x 3m, yes, you read that right!] and general anti-damp work carries on.
I've come out of lurkdom to say thank you for all your ideas and encouragement.
Thanks again,
DGIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0 -
My husband is too scared to reach for the heating as he knows he'd be a dead man.I told him November 1st and no earlier.Mind you,we're beginning to look like that Mitchelin man in the evening as we're putting more and more on to keep warm.God help us all if we do get this very cold snowy winter they say we're going to get.0
