  • Another long day at work. Really struggling to do anything tonight. Have been cooking dinners from scratch - which is healthy - but time consuming and messy.

All I have achieved today is collect weekly shopping, make tea (skinny egg fried chicken and Seaseme stirfry) and empty and reload dishwasher.

Don't want to spend all weekend cleaning - but also don't want to move from sofa!!

all today's washing has been ironed.

other than that been busy out of the house.

However, while ironing I cast an eye over some of the things in my dining room. I *think* I have a few more 'collectables' for the table top sale I hope to have a stall at - as I never managed to car boot anything this summer. Who needs a silver bud vase that topped a wedding cake 31 years ago?

  • Hi

I'm being rubbish at keeping up with the thread but I did manage to fly a bit this morning.

    I got up
    Made the packed lunches
Decluttered DS2 to college and DD to school
Threw a dinner into the slow cooker
    Laid out DDs ballet stuff
    Washed up
    Fed myself
    Got dressed
    Run round with the hoover
Stuck a load in the WM

Which doesn't seem like a lot but for me that was good to have that all done for 10.30am.

Not working till 5 tomorrow night so my plan is to

    Wash/dry all the bedding
Properly clean the LR, Scullery and bathroom
s/s the rest of this hovel

Will be in in the morning x

oh and I swept in kitchen too and cleaned the kick boards, which were disgusting!

I bet not as bad as ours. Last month we picked nearly a bucketful of hazel nuts from our garden. the bucket sat in the conservatory pending storage......you've guessed it, last week I asked Mr N where he'd tidied the nuts.....he looked blank. Looked for evidence; one nut under worktop on kitchen floor.........almost a bucketful behind the kick board. We'll sweep them out but part of me feels so mean, some forward-planning little rodent has studiously carried hundreds of them to his winter storage. He will be so disappointed and hungry......

I've got lists of lists of lists pre-holiday but I think they are now all crossed out. I won't list them all here or you'll all lose the will.
Suffice it to say I'm ready on a selfish note, but f**led miserably for leaving the house beautiful and shiny for Mr N while I'm away. At least I left him lots of food, have been stashing away extra portions for a while to save him time (he's a capable cook).

Bye for now, lovely hols to other people going; hugs, spoons as required for others. REST CY

Ahhh, bed-time. Warmed through with a large glass of wine and relaxing...

Pleased with the progress today re: flying. Not so pleased with the puppies who both managed to pee on the dining room carpet today, despite the back door being open. Why???

That room reeks, even though I've Vaxed and scrubbed and blotted and sprayed...*sigh* The black cherry scented car-freshener (barf) despite being known to singe nostril hairs of beardy men is just not cutting the mustard...retreated upstairs!
  • Evening all,

I'm posting on holiday in a very nice cottage in front of a lovely log fire. Children long asleep after bracing (ie cold and wet) walk by the sea. OH fast asleep on sofa due to usual stress release of leaving work behind. I have broken my diet badly. CY take it easy! . Narco hope you have a good hol. No flying (or minimal flying) for me until Tuesday. Will probably be reading thread at least though.

By the way, as I left the packing until this morning and was all in a rush I forgot to bring:

Any other shoes for me apart from the ones I was wearing at the time.
OH's belt, so pants a bit unstable
Any coats at all for any of us.

    See you all later x

    DW emptied, mogs fed.

Biscuit enjoy your holiday, sounds lovley

CY Hope yesterday went well, rest, rest and moe rest.

Plan is for lots of garden tidying today, paid gardening and my gardening. Need to go to Mr L as well. Seeing progress from the flying and took a couple more bags of stuff to the CS yesterday. Space has temporarily been replaced with another p0ng chair for DS1 from my sister which I plan for him to collect this weekend.

Will do a HHC in the dining room now and then get DS3 up for school.
