I don't agree with the big portions, I think portion control is the way to go. I would love to eat big portions and I did when first starting sw. Now I Physically cant manage big portions (now now ;)) but as I'm a finish what's On my plate kinda person I make myself really uncomfortable and bloated when I do.
Also I'm positive eating big portions of pasta is the root of my intolerance issues/IBS now!!
I too have tummy issues since Thursday so haven't weighed yet. Will do in the morning as normal service has resumed :rotfl:.

Maman, do you think HBs gravy would go with lamb steaks? Son insisted on lamb so need a nice gravy and can't do better than Si & Dave's :D

Welcome in newbies, well done losers and hugs to those in need :A

The big portions thing is also something I don't agree with, I struggle to eat huge portions these days as a result of gradually training myself over the years to get used to less food.

The plan today was to have soup for lunch but Im still perfectly full from breakfast / brunch so I may not bother, after all I don't believe from what I've been learning from you guys that I should eat if I'm not hungry

Don't see why not tie. I often use beef stock with lamb or pork as I like the meaty flavour. I think lamb stock cubes do exist but I've never tried them.

I think it is probably medication and general upset to your er...system that's caused the gain arkers. One thing that struck me when you said you're being good. I hope you're not going without syns as that can cause a gain?

Your menu for today looks really good liz. Frozen berries are a great idea for breakfast and snacking.

I'm doing a bit of eating from the freezer/storecupboards this week as I'm only here until Wednesday then we have a break so don't want too much fresh stuff in.

    My EE menu today:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, half HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: lentil and veg soup
D: duck confit, dauphinoise potatoes, peas/carrots/onions and cauli
Syns: scrape of spread, squirt of HP sauce and whatever's in cheese sauce for potatoes. So quite high and then some with weekend wine;).

My beef casserole went down a storm :) Hubby licked his plate clean and he's not normally a fan of stews. It ended up containing a few syns as I chucked in some gravy granules to thicken the sauce - I have no idea how many syns so I'm going to play it safe today and not have anything else to eat this evening

Our tastes do definitely change Smedley. When I first started with SW back in April 2014, most days I would have some form of chocolate, whether it be a finger of twirl, kit kat, jaffa cake or a couple of squares of chocolate. Just looking back over this week's food, chocolate is appearing much less. Don't get me wrong, I still love the stuff but I think by having some each day, stopped me from feeling deprived and I know I can have some if I work it in. More likely now to fancy a bag of crisps which I didn't bother with much in the early days. Now I keep some of the Pufts (3.5syns) and some other low syn crispy snack things should I get the urge for some. On the rare occasion I have had a cream cake now, I get annoyed with myself for having it as they are never as nice as I remember them :D. How is your Mum doing these days?

Could you use the cornichons in some sort of hotpot/stew shala. Is it the taste or texture you are not keen on?

Going to cook our pork joint in oven rather than SC so SW roasties will be making an appearance tonight. I am setting myself a challenge for today - not one tiny morsel of crackling will pass my lips. ;)

Nice and bright and sunny here today. First lot of washing out and the load of towels has just finished so I had better shift off the sofa and get them hung out. Pity most of the garden is in the shade till late afternoon. :(.

    Have a good day everyone

Indeed BEG, I never imagined that I would ever turn my nose up at an Apple Turnover, like you, these foods are now never as nice as I remembered them...

My Mum is still on the weight plateau, I have joined her too, so she is not the only one not losing or gaining :)

SW Online didn't offer much help either, they looked at her food diaries, and just picked out one or two items that were inaccurately recorded, nothing drastic as she was well within the 105syn allowance.

We are both mixing our eating habits up as much as we can, and following the advice given here.
We are both happy that we have managed to lose where other systems failed. We are carrying on undeterred; our bodies will either lose more fat or stay the same, either way, we both have found new wardrobes that now fit which were previously gathering dust. :j
