    Afternoon all :-)

Well done on the losses suewre and gbatey :-)

Stuck to plan yesterday - Thanks for the tips maman - I had been counting banana's as S until I read that they weren't on one of the posts on here - had a Peach with b/fast (Weetabix/milk), put some Balsamic on the pasta bake salad at lunch (not bad), and had peas and french beans with fish pie.
3syns for pasta bake as a bit of cheese on top, 5 .5 for fish pie (as prefer it with white sauce rather than yougurty stuff which is too thin and never tastes quite right) and 5.5 for Choc Roll - Total 14
  • Afternoon everyone

Having a bit of a catch up with you all. Been struggling during the week to keep up with you all as things have been a bit manic here at times. Tried to stay on plan as much as possible and I know I said I was going to post menus but just haven't managed it but I have been keeping a diary for my Consultant so will pop a couple of days worth on now and they may/may not inspire someone with ideas if struggling. We also get our recipes out now and again to remind us of the dishes that we have done in the past and loved but somehow forgotton about.

Had meal out with family yesterday at Wetherspoons - avoided the fish and chips :p and went for the Shanghai Noodles with salmon fillet. No idea of how many syns as I couldn't find it on website but I ate it and enjoyed it. Kept syns down for rest of day so hopefully haven't done too much damage. :D

    Day 1 -

B - half serving overnight oats with strawberries and yoghurt (0.5 heb)

L - 4 slices lean bacon, 2 fried eggs, baked beans, mushrooms. Activia Extremely Creamy Strawberry Yoghurt (2 syns)

Afternoon - small satsuma, small plum

T - 3 Linda McCartney Rosemary and Red Onion Sausages, roast pots, brussel sprouts, carrots and swede with onion gravy (1 syn)

S - 2 ryvita (3 syns), bit of flora light (1 syn) feta cheese (hea) gherkins, 8 olives (1 syn) (half overnight oats (0.5 heb)

    Total syns - 8

    Day 2 -

    B - apple

Mid am - cup of bovril

Lunch - 2 small jacket potatoes (egg tom half tbsp vlf mayo and half tbsp vlf salad cream 1 syn), huge green salad (leaves, sweetcorn, toms, spring onions, cucucumber, carrot, dressing (0.5 tbsp mayo and 0.5 salad cream), large nectarine and plum

T - Cheats Leek Macaroni with bacon and brocolli (25g cheese 2 syns and half hea of cheese), nectarine, plum and half pear

S - Cheese Pufts (3.5 syns), 80g prunes (heb) and hot choc made with half (hea)

    Total syns - 10

Wont bore you with any more for now and I have got to dash off.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Had weetabix with banana for breakfast then made a strir fry with fry lite - diced cooked chicken, king prawns, onion, peppers, courgette, veg stock cube, oyster sauce and pouch of rice beside it .

I thickened the sauce using some cornflour and it turned out really tasty.

I have lamb steaks and sea bass defrosting and will have one of them tonight with green veg.

Love a chicken and prawn stirfry but haven't tried oyster sauce how many syns in that please.

Its the Cardiff half marathon tomorrow

I'm as prepared as i can be, even though i haven't trained as much as i should have! My goal is to beat my time last year which was slightly over 2 hours. Its 13 miles and i usually eat porridge for breakfast to give me enough energy, but has anyone got a better tip for a breakfast body fuel?

Would adding some fruit to your porridge help Spinkz? I love doing the Overnight Oats with loads of frozen berries and yoghurt. Good luck for tomorrow.

  • Bought some of the Braemoor Sweet Chilli Chicken from Lidl this morning - half price weekend offer at £1.49 but cannot find them on the SW online. Will have to put them in on the calculator when I get a chance. If they are too high could always leave some of the sweet sauce off. ;)

Got some diced steak from Sainsbobs that had been YS'ed and and a pack of lovely thick lamb steaks (lovely and lean) which had been YS'ed. Been taking a leaf out of your book meg ;).

Will give you a wave Lois when you come up north :hello: - shame the weather has changed :(.

    Evening all,

Can I please check I'm doing things right? Today I've eaten or will eat the following, and it seems so much food!

Breakfast - potatoes, mushrooms, eggs, tomato and bacon cooked in frylight
Lunch - wholemeal roll (HEB) with tinned tuna and a spoonful of extra light mayo, mullerlight skinny capuccino and a banana
Dinner - tonnes of spaghetti served with cooked prawns in pasata, red onion and garlic - cooked in frylight
Snacks - two finger kit Kat and 25ml of vodka with Diet Coke
HEA - milk in coffee throughout the day
I'm stuffed already and have my kitkat to munch on later, it just seems impossible to lose weight whilst eating so much!

Hello  just in for a catch up.. the past week has not been great (v busy week at work), so today is the final day of naughtiness and back to it tomorrow for a big push before xmas! Ended up having to go to work this morning as well and there were many chocolate biscuits :o so that was today shot straight away.

Line drawn as at midnight (one last supper tonight)___________

Some brilliant losses :T:T well done everyone who's managed it.

Horseykaz - I've added you to the challenge and your brilliant first week loss:T.. welcome :D

I'm with you on the mushrooms Lois - I really want to like them but they're just to strong a taste I think :( it'd be lovely to add them to a fry up or with pasta etc.. maybe one day!

Poohbear - I've got you down for a 7lb target on the chart - what info do you think is missing??

Welcome PennyK  your menu looked great, a lot of lean healthy protein and veg.. with a few healthy snacks..

:T:rotfl: at your splendid A**e Mildredd..

Thanks for the link meg - definitely going to steal some ideas!

Hi Liz3yy - although SW says you can eat unlimited food, it doesn't 100% mean it, you should only eat enough until you are satisfied, so if that is what you are doing then that's fine. If you aren't hungry then don't just eat the kitkat because you should have syns(have another vodka instead ;):rotfl:)

If you don't mind me saying, your menu is a bit lacking in speed foods - all I can see are tomatoes and mushrooms and some red onion - you should make sure that a third of all your food throughout the day is speed, this will fill you up so that you naturally have less of the more calorie dense foods. Hope this helps :D

I've done a meal plan for the week and changed my working hours so I finish a bit earlier so no excuses for not coming home and making a proper tea! Listing it here so I can refer back to it..

S - roast chicken dinner, might have a sneaky Yorkshire:p
M - baked orzo with mozzarella
T - pizza frittata, salad, sweet potato wedges
W - Cowboy pie (from the little booklet last month)
T - gammon, rosti potato and egg stack (from the little booklet last month)
F - chicken chasseur (slow cooker recipe)
S - some sort of SW fakeaway or the Austrian hash

Hi, interesting stuff though a little disappointing. I'd love to eat more fruit and veg but my budget won't stretch to it at the moment- I'll dig out the books tonight and see what I can do to get more speed in my diet without bankrupting myself

This is all so confusing :/

Don't worry too much, it'll get clearer as the weeks go by :) keep posting your menu's up and we'll help tweak them.

You can certainly do SW on a budget.. using frozen fruit and veg may work out cheaper than fresh, my freezer is stocked with green beans, stir fry veg, mixed veg, sweetcorn (not speed though), peppers, meditterean veg most of the time. They range from 80p to £1.20 depending on where you shop. And being frozen means there's no waste and they're very convenient to cook.

I think, currently, a kilo or carrots/onions are about 60p at the supermarkets I shop at (prob cheaper at Ald* etc) but they are a good base to a lot of meals and I freeze what I don't use so again no waste.

Discount shops can also be a good source of canned items such as beans, chickpeas, soups etc. for a lot less than the usual supermarkets..
