Did my food shop which was meant to be minimal but ended up getting various storecupboard things. All mse of course.:money:

I think I must have had a funny turn in Aldi:o. Friendly woman and I ended up sorting through the beef medallions and braising steak together because they were all muddled. She tells me that she sometimes uses the medallions for braising and the next thing I know I'm giving her the recipe for Hairy Bikers!! I'm obsessed. At least I didn't drag her off to buy loads of veg to go with it.:rotfl:

Not sure how things will go tomorrow. We were meant to have a pub meal but DH is probably working so I'm going to do HB just in case and then keep it for Sunday if we do go out.

I have found the mullerlight coffee multipacks. YAY!
They are 3 packs for £5. Haven't had one yet because I'm eating other ones up but am very excited. They are on sale in Asda but presume they will now appear everywhere.

I bought a pack this evening in Asda too :) I love anything coffee flavoured

Happy to report a 2lb loss this week, that means 1 stone in total. I told my boss today (the first person outside my immediate family) as I was so happy. It was her doing so well on slimming world that inspired me to sign up. I cooked a lovely dinner yesterday. In the slow cooker I put passata, water, stock cubes, carrots, sweet potato, sweetcorn, mushrooms, kale & slices of chicken. but I would have put in any veg I had. DH had mash with his, but I had it as it was, with enough leftovers for lunch today. I will definitely do that again. Also, I made overnight oats for dh & I for this morning, very nice.

Have you thought about making a plan for a week liz? That way you don't get caught unprepared and you can always switch meals around within the week. It also has the benefit of just shopping for foods that fit the plan. I always plan in some ready meals (you can have HM if you've time or by in some low syn ready made) for days when you're tired or busy or just CBA

Hi, I certainly do intend to make a plan for the coming week and will sit down tomorrow to work it out. I plan to batch cook and fill the freezer with lots of home made ready meals and soups for days when I'm not in the mood to cook or will be late back from work / college.

DH has been told that he needs to change his diet and lose weight so we have even more of an incentive to get organised

    Hi All,

I've tried searching online but to no avail...can anyone tell me the syn value of the Lidl 2% fat greek yogurt? I'd rather have this than the FF natural or even a mix of the two but need to know how many syns to count.

    Many thanks,
    Penny

The 'Greek Style Low Fat' is 1.5 syns for 100g. Hope that's the one you want.

That's great liz, and if your DH is on board too it helps massively. Obviously what you make depends on your tastes but I like to have soup available for lunches (which you could easily take in a flask to work/college) and Bolognese, Savoury Mince and Chilli in the freezer. When I'm batch cooking I set them up in the SC at the weekend and then it doesn't matter if I have to go out or whatever. I prefer to just freeze the sauces then I can make them up into cottage pie or have with JP or pasta or lasagne or whatever I fancy. Takes up less freezer space too. I freeze mine in two person portions in those plastic boxes from the £ shop (like the take away ones) and I've just discovered that once frozen I can line them up on their sides in my freezer drawer a bit like books on a shelf. Sad I know but I'm delighted with how little space they take up:D.

Went shopping and saw a small bag of chocolate orange segments and a small bag of Th****on chocolates which mysteriously got paid for and went home with me. I did get several pots of fruit as well.
Decided to try something I heard of years ago and wrapped each segment or chocolate in foil, put in a plastic box and put it in the freezer. If I get desperate I can unwrap one and let it melt in my mouth for about 2 and a half syns.

Only had a diet drink late tonight and fruit as felt I needed a break from syns for a day.

    Morning all :)

Well this morning's breakfast was fruit and yogurt, not sure what lunch is going to be yet, something SW friendly, but the rest of the weekend will be beyond my control as we're heading north after lunch to visit family. We're staying and eating with DS tonight and meeting up with other family members tomorrow for a meal, so I'm going to try to make healthy choices where I can and using a few flexible syns.

Well done to everyone reporting a loss this week. :T I had a sneaky peak this morning and there was 1lb gone, but as I've changed to Monday WIs now, I'm hoping it's still gone next time I step on them!

    Mildredd - great compliment!

Brilliant! :D I am obsessive about sorting things out when they've been messed up. I couldn't find any babycorn in Morrison's the other day but when I dug deeper I discovered they were buried under a layer of babycorn with mangetout, so I proceeded to sort them into the right trays. DH thinks I'm mad. :rotfl:

I've been looking at everyone's menus and really fancying some of the main meals, next week I'm going to set myself a challenge to break away from what we eat regularly and introduce some different things. Monday is shopping day so Monday morning will be spent checking recipes and writing a detailed shopping list.

Enjoy the rest of the good weather - apparently its all going to change by Monday.

    Have a great weekend.
