Oh I am!! I am!! Thought of you yesterday when I shared a bottle of Oyster Bay with my friend:D.

Has anyone made a SW mushroom stroganoff? It's a meal I've enjoyed in a restaurant but never made myself. Would welcome any reviews.

If it's the meal for one dinner rather than the easy carve joint then it's 11 syns. If you want to use it up then go for it.

I've had SW breakfast (scrambled egg on HEB) and I've got LO veg to use up for lunch with some ham. need to do my meal plan before deciding on dinner. I only have until Wednesday to plan for with 1 meal out so must make sure I use up fresh stuff before buying more.

Hope you have good news at WI denise and great to see you back beanie. Good to have you back on board too Kaz:).

I haven't made the SW mushroom stroganoff but have made something similar from Jack Monroe's site (wwwlagirlcalledjack.com) but just made it SW friendly. It was a mushroom chasseur. Have made it a couple of times and it's OK - not brilliant but certainly nice for a change or if you've got loads of mushrooms to use up (I don't like mushroom soup so can't use them up that way!).

Welcome Kaz and welcome back Beanie.

WI wasn't quite what I'd hoped but at least it wasn't a gain - it was STS so not too bad. Thought I'd done enough to get that small loss but perhaps it was a glass of wine too much at some point over the week:rotfl:.

Have made a change to my HEBs - had one slice of bread with my pepper soup, followed by a slice of marmite on toast (1.5 syns for butter). Won't be having the crispbreads this evening as I had a Peanut Heaven HiFi bar at group this morning. If I'm peckish this evening I'll finish off the hummous I made a couple of days ago with some carrot sticks.

Off to make a cup of tea now that I've had my lunch.

I love a Stroganoff, but no I've never made one either. I'd be interested in any recipes too.

I have looked at that website Denise, but never made anything of it.

Lovely Maman hope you enjoyed the Oyster Bay. I will be having some of that at Christmas!

Lantanna - the website has loads of cheap recipes on it but of course most of it is vegetarian as it's much cheaper.

I haven't used many recipes from it but most of them include beans & pulses. One of the regular recipes I use from it is the mixed bean goulash - although I use a tin of mixed beans rather than a tin of kidney beans and baked beans with the tomato sauce washed off (sounds yuk!).

Another recipe I've used a few times is the carrot, cumin & kidney beanburgers but I just use whatever beans I happen to have, again not usually the kidney beans she uses (I prefer almost any other bean - I only used kidney beans in chilli as I'm not really that keen on them).

Some of the recipes are worth a try, particularly if you want to include some Green days for a change.

DD who goes with me to SW is in Greece so I walked down there on my own. After a good result last week I got complacent with syns etc.

I stayed exactly the same - to be fair I was lucky I had not gained.

Went home early as I was walking alone in the dark and bought a fish at the chippy in a sulk  I did take most of the batter off though. Decided to count syns properly and to have weeetabix most days as that seemed to work for me.

Breakfast was two weetabix and a banana followed by a fresh peach.

Lunch was a mugshot and another peach and I am defrosting lamb steak and chicken breasts. Might do a lamb and spinach curry with onions and passata tonight or else chicken and mushroom curry with tomatoes and onions and some peppers.

Will have a look at what gives me the most enjoyable syns tonight, maybe a curlywirly or a bag of quavers.

I know the scales say I've not lost any weight but I appear to have a pair of buckets on today. You could fit 2 of me in them. If I get home and find they are a 12 or 14 I'll be delighted!! :rotfl:

And stop laughing at me Shala. :rotfl: Your the one thinking my mushrooms are a little rude!;)

I will revisit some day when I have time Denise. It may get revisited this month in fact seeing as its battening down the hatches time!

That's a shame tweets, are you sure your scales aren't playing up?

    STS isn't too bad denise.

Good idea to watch your syns carefully elona and the bonus about having Weetabix or similar (like Alpens, crispbreads or slices of bread) as HEBs is that there's no estimating of portion size. Do you keep a food diary? When you want to tighten up it can help to write down everything that passes your lips.

I've done my meal plan to take me up to my holiday. I need to buy very little if I'm to use all the fresh veg I have in (much as you'd expect really:o). Austrian Hash tonight with cabbage. DH will be a happy bunny.

Week 1 being good has paid off - just back from WI with a 3.5lb Loss :D. Happy with that as had been stuck for a couple of months.

Fav meal this week was probably chickpea and spinach curry (with left overs ready for a quick lunch next day).

Off to plan next weeks meals and shopping.....who knows, Mushroom Stroganoff might even make it on there :)
