:T well done on your loss and your shiny Clare.

Sorry to hear some of you had gains but as you know why and they're not too big that can be easily sorted.

Alpen Lights are 3 syns each or 2 for a HEB liz.

Good to have you back Shala, I'm not doing all-inclusive just a boutique hotel (aka fancy guest house) that does a Continental breakfast and then eating out for other meals. So I'll probably be starting the day with bread and it'll go down hill from there;).

Thanks for the reminder about butter buds. I saw another recipe that mixed in fromage frais with mash. I must give it a try.

Sorry to hear you've not been well greentiger. Hope you'll feel much better soon.

I had two bowls of lentil soup for supper. I don't usually have anything but it looked and smelled so delicious I couldn't resist. Must portion the rest up for the freezer before I eat the lot.

    Evening everyone (waves)

Thanks for all your kind words and comments.

To those who asked (I can't figure out how to quote using my phone!) I forgot about milk last night so I measured out semi skimmed this morning to have as my HEA - I made a flask of coffee with it and will have the rest this evening.

I added spinach and extra potatoes to my tea so I'm pretty stuffed now, I still fancy something to munch on though so will have a couple of Alpen light bars later - anyone know how many syns in those? I think with them and counting around 10 syns from my dinner (I used a good glug of olive oil and the chicken had a little skin on most of which I removed) I should be on target today.

I haven't decided on tomorrow's menu yet, I'll have a think and report back here shortly

    Thanks for reading
Hi everyone I'm back from wi and reporting a +1.5lb gain. Not jumping for joy with that but I couldn't work out the huge undeserved loss last week. Not sure of what is going on but would hope that things settle down soon. Having the usual loo issues (sorry tmi :o) so will pay particular attention to liquid intake I think this week.

Anyway, enough of me :D. How rude of me not to welcome our newbies earlier and I see we have more while I have been out so I will say a huge :hello:. Good luck to you all.

Welcome back shala - I can safely say we have missed you. Hope you have had a fab time.

News from group tonight - anyone considering a Countdown (buy 10 weeks and get 12) - there is an offer on 12th October - anyone buying a 12 wk countdown will receive a free Christmas recipe book (might be the same as last year's). Christmas starts at SW on 12th Oct - thought that would cheer everyone up :p. Think we are having tasters night.

Quite tired tonight so I think I will finish off my cuppa and get upstairs to bed.

    b_e_g

Welcome Liz3yy. Alpen Lights are 3 syns each or you can have 2 of them as HEB.

My consultant said last week that the "new" Christmas book is the same as last year's - which to be quite honest was almost the same as when I bought mine back in 2010 (didn't get a free copy with a countdown as I'd already reached target!).

Welcome back Shala - 3lb is an OK gain for a holiday, enjoy the next few days before getting back on plan. I'm sure you'll try to be good when you can and enjoy it when you can't!

I'll post back shortly when today's menu plan.

Maman - I sometimes use natural yoghurt (not the Total 0% because I don't like it!) to make the mash and it's not bad at all. Not done it for a while as been adding a little butter & a splash of milk as DH not keen on the yoghurt (when he's seen me add it but not complained when he hasn't seen it, LOL!).

Having another Green day today (although DH doesn't know that tonight sausage casserole is actually Quorn sausages! - no idea what they're like but thought I'd give them a go). Hopefully the casserole will have a beefy flavour as I've used beef stock & some onion gravy granules to thicken.

    B - beans on toast; plum & fig (HEB1)
L - LO HM veg soup
    D - Quorn sausage casserole
    S - 3 Lidl Sesame crispbreads & Philli spread (HEB2/HEA2)

HEA1 will be milk in tea throughout the daty as usual.

No idea what syns I'll have today apart from a couple for the onion gravy granules, but actually still have 30 syns left to last today & tomorrow! Might having trouble using them all. Going shopping today so make treat myself to some chocolate.

Hello I would like to join your challenge (even though your half way through). I am just starting slimming world tomorrow morning. I am not going to the meetings and not doing it online, but I have the 2014 books and tracker sheets plus a ton of recipes and a couple of books around the house so going to use them. I bought them on ebay :) .

So I weighed in this morning so just use that weight to start this as I dont think one day will change me much :)I weigh 16.12 and by the 31st of October I would like to challenge myself to lose 10lbs (its a big challenge :o ) so I will be 16.2 which will be great. My big fat goal would be to reach 12stone :D:D:D in my wildest dreams lol.

When I started in 2013 I was 16.13. I lost 6 stone within the year exactly. So it can be done. I have since regained 2 and weigh around 12 stone at the minute but I hope this inspires you!

Welcome back Shala. No no relatives, I went with 3 friends in the summer before my last Uni year. We saved up and travelled about. It was amazing and a great experience. I def want to go back at some stage.

Poutine wasn't about when I went but I expect its fabulous it sounds right up my street. 3 lbs is nothing. You will have that off in no time. Says she who can't seem to get anything to shift at the minute:rotfl:

Maman Just after eating a Cherry Bakewell Alpen. Funnily they are my least favourite and I dug the little rascal out of the bottom of the treat tub this morning to get it used up (Yes I have a treat tub full of Alpens and the like) :rotfl: Although a friend did look at the contents once in disgust and said there not really things that I would call treats :rotfl:

Last night I had 1/3 of a pack of Asda root veg mash, it was really nice. Don't suppose anyone knows the syns?? If it is low I would definitely get it again.

I was naughty this morning and jumped on the scales, I was afraid I'd gained half a stone. Seem to be up one, hopefully that shifts and takes a friend with it for Friday :rotfl: Like yourself BEG I need to get back on the fluids. Its always all or nothing with me.

Your very quiet these days Meg? How is the dating world treating you?

I have cabbage, lo root veg mash and lo ratatouille for dinner tonight with whatever meat I go with.

I baked cod on Saturday night and had with roasted veg, sw wedges, and sw friendly cheesy mushrooms. Was amazing. Forgotten how much I like baked cod. So will def have to get some more pennies allowing. Pennies are not good this month at all but ploughing on.

love reading thread don't usually post but need lots of motivation these days to stick to plan.

Hi Debbie and Nomojo - welcome to the thread, good luck with your goals. I've added you both to the chart in Shala's absence.
oh one more silly question ... how do I subscribe to a thread :/

If you go to the top of post #1 you'll see a drop down menu called Thread Tools, click on the down arrow and select Subscribe to this thread, choose an option for notification then click on the Subscribe button.

    Oh another question (sorry) ,

I was looking for nimble bread in my local co op but they only had the small weight watcher bread. Is it the same, as in 2 slices = B choice?

HEB bread doesn't have to be a slimming brand, you can have 2 slices from any 400g wholemeal loaf. Warburton's is my favourite. :)

Is that the chilled 400g pack of root veg mash? If so it's 2.5 syns for the pack - sounds good to me but of course would be Free if you made it yourself!

Your Saturday night dinner sounds lovely. How do you do the cheesy mushrooms? Are they baked portabello ones with cottage cheese in them?

Thanks Denise, 2.5 syns for the pack is good. I will def get it again. Good to have on standby when you are in a rush and cooking for one etc and it was yum. Will also try and make some myself too at some stage.

My mushrooms were button ones and I put them in a really small casserole dish with a lid with a bit of frylight and 30g Philadelphia Chives Light (Hea) and lots of pepper for 20 mins. Really nice. I love these, they would feature quite a lot for me. Guessing you could use any light soft cheese as long as your counting your allowance as your HEa or syn it.
  • Well after my 1lb gain yesterday I'm trying to get back into focus.

Unfortunately my friend is bringing me lunch today, a fish and chip butty. They aren't very big, I will take the batter off the fish to make it free and won't eat the bun (I never do). There is around 1/2 a portion of chips in there. Any idea how many syns I should count anyone??

The rest of the day will be good.....

    Breakfast: Cereal (HEA and HEB)

Lunch: Fish (bater removed) and 1/2 portion of chips.... Need to work out syns!

Tea: Roast beef, sw roast potatoes, peas, gravy (1 syns - only have a tiny bit) and 1 yorkshire pudding (2.5 syns, but might not eat it after big lunch)

Snacks: Apples, grapes, orange and 1/2 jar of beetroot (Beetroot is random I know but need to get some speed in lol)

    Have a good day everyone!

Great sentiment for SW denise. We should have it as our strapline!!

Fish& chip shop chips are 6.5 syns for 100g CP, but how you estimate 100g I've no idea!! The site reckons a serving is 220g and 14 syns but servings vary so much from shop to shop.

That salmon in chilli dressing I had was from Lidl. The dill butter sauce one is free but I can't find the chilli one on the net. Cheapish way of having fish lantanna. If you like cod, many supermarkets sell bags of frozen pieces that taste fine. They just don't look all neat. Aldi, Farmfoods have them but probably Sainsbury's and Iceland if you look around.
I like the sound of those mushrooms too. A bit of garlic stirred in would be nice too.

Thanks for the info about the yogurt denise. I've always got bog standard FF yogurt in the fridge as DH likes it for breakfast so I'll try that.

We're having similar meals today although I'll be out at lunchtime so I'll either skip it or buy myself a JP or a salad in town. If I'd been at home I'd have had more of my veg and lentil soup but just portioned it up for the freezer.

    EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit. baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
    L: something SW friendly out
D: sausage, mash, cauli, broccoli, carrots, peas, fried onions
Syns: gravy granules, scrape of spread

Another half HEB going begging (didn't bother yesterday) may find the Alpens when I'm out.
