Hi maman, I find I'm quite carb sensitive, so decided to go on red days and only use my syns on healthy things like baked fruit, dried fruit, nuts instead of chocolate, cake and cr*p.

Sugars my number one enemy because I find it quite addictive.
    Here hoping it works :)

    Evening everyone (waves)

Thanks for all your kind words and comments.

To those who asked (I can't figure out how to quote using my phone!) I forgot about milk last night so I measured out semi skimmed this morning to have as my HEA - I made a flask of coffee with it and will have the rest this evening.

I added spinach and extra potatoes to my tea so I'm pretty stuffed now, I still fancy something to munch on though so will have a couple of Alpen light bars later - anyone know how many syns in those? I think with them and counting around 10 syns from my dinner (I used a good glug of olive oil and the chicken had a little skin on most of which I removed) I should be on target today.

I haven't decided on tomorrow's menu yet, I'll have a think and report back here shortly

    Thanks for reading

Hello.. i'm back! Well I was back yesterday but I've slept most of that time yawn.gif :rotfl:

Had a quick weigh in and only put 3lbs on for the week :T we did a lot of walking so must have minimised the food damage! I don't intend getting back on track straight away as we're out and about for a few days.. will base most of the meals I have on SW if I can for the next few days and then from Thursday it's another push till Xmas to shift a bit more. :D

So how's everyone been? I haven't read back yet, but i'm going to try and get the chart sorted so it's up to date to post tomorrow as normal.. hope you didn't all find it a pain to update on Google docs! Thanks Lois for helping update in my absence...

  • Hi Shala!!

Well done on your 3lb gain (sounds funny saying that!). Bu you know what I mean. Could have been a lot worse! Lovely to see you back.

Well, been weighed, and its a gain as expected.... But definatly not as much as I expected so I'm feeling very happy and motivated again! Its a 1lb gain in total!

Off to bed so just a quick post. I'm tried, lol.

  • Hi everyone I'm back from wi and reporting a +1.5lb gain. Not jumping for joy with that but I couldn't work out the huge undeserved loss last week. Not sure of what is going on but would hope that things settle down soon. Having the usual loo issues (sorry tmi :o) so will pay particular attention to liquid intake I think this week.

Anyway, enough of me :D. How rude of me not to welcome our newbies earlier and I see we have more while I have been out so I will say a huge :hello:. Good luck to you all.

Welcome back shala - I can safely say we have missed you. Hope you have had a fab time.

News from group tonight - anyone considering a Countdown (buy 10 weeks and get 12) - there is an offer on 12th October - anyone buying a 12 wk countdown will receive a free Christmas recipe book (might be the same as last year's). Christmas starts at SW on 12th Oct - thought that would cheer everyone up :p. Think we are having tasters night.

Quite tired tonight so I think I will finish off my cuppa and get upstairs to bed.

Tete - did you manage to get back on track from last week? How was your run yesterday?? I noticed you haven't been on since your confession...

Well done on walking away from cakes BEG, every stop we made at the truck stops had a Tim Hortons - it's like a coffee-cake shop with a massive cake display at the front  I didn't succumb though, I thought i'd save it as a treat for the airport, then the airport didn't have one smiley-sad045.gif i'm sure your 5lb loss was good karma :D

Are all the poorlies smiley-sick005.gif better, there seems to be a lot of you :(

We did go there, had the nicest icecream  but there wasn't much else to do, luckily it was only a lunch spot so we didn't spend hours there.

Just enjoy it Shala, your only there for a week. How much damage can you do. Best to sample all that is on offer to be able to offer an informed opinion.;)
I'm very informed :rotfl: pizza-burger, poutine, burgers, fries, massive smoked meat sandwiches, cheesecake, banana loaf for breakfast every morning, crepes and icecream.

Sorry got mixed up and thought it was Mildredd that had been, do you have family over there is that how you stayed there for a few months? How nice to have that time to explore..

Well done Rolandtheroadie and orlao on SOTW for last week :T:T but we missed off Dillon too. So congrats to all of you for losing your 2.5lbs :T:T:T

Well done on your result Denise, it didn't seem like you were gone for 3.5 weeks! Hope you had a lovely time.

Sounds like you enjoyed your hols Greenbeanie, I'm a bit late to offer advice on how to get back on track so I hope you've found a way.

I'm off to Malta for my break. 6 nights so can't do too much damage. Can I?

It depends if it's all-inclusive maman ;) there is much wine to drink and so little time...

Auntycat - I just checked minimins earlier and it was fine - maybe you caught it whilst it was having a bit of a blip! Welcome to the thread.
Thanks folks! Haven't been online since, had such a busy time! Coffe morning went really well. Raised almost £700 for Macmillan so happy with that.

I was flicking through an old magazine and I saw a recipe with Total 0% stirred into the mash. I miss adding lashes of milk and butter to mash sometimes. Does anyone else add things to make it creamy?

I add butterbuds to my mash maman, doesn't give the creaminess but does give the butter taste.. think they're 0.5 syn per packet and you can get them from Ebay or Lakeland.

Never thought of yogurt stirred through, must try that.

Now I can hear OH has finished putting the washing away i'll go see if he needs help ;):rotfl:

    See you all tomorrow xx

Hello all :o Honestly I had one chippy tea and went off the rails for two weeks :o:o I did weigh in but didn't get chance to come on here, sorry.

Last week was a 1lb gain - well deserved :(

(I weigh in on Wednesday for this week - sorry to be a pain).

Anyway, this is a new week and I've been good today:

    B - Mullerlight, apple, coffee
    D - Red lentil soup
T - SW chicken curry with cauli 'rice' - I was still hungry after this so had another Mullerlight, a slice of toast and an Alpen light bar.

    HEXA - Milk in coffees
HEXB - 1 slice small wholemeal bread and 1 Alpen light
Syns - 4 for sugar in coffees, 1 for Flora Light on toast - 5 in total.

    Tomorrow:
B - Mullerlight with raspberries and blueberries
D - Salad - mixed leaves, cucumber, grated carrot and smoked salmon w/ balsamic vinegar
T - Jacket potato with smoked salmon and salad as above (all needs using up)
    Snacks - plums, pomegranate

I did run a half marathon yesterday so I'm hoping that may have offset some of the gluttony, but sometimes a long run can make you retain water so it could go either way!

Hope everyone else's resolve has stayed more intact than mine and welcome to all the newbies :hello:

  • Hello, debbiedodge and nomojo.

    Well done, Claire.

    Welcome home, shala.

Well, as expected I gained 1lb. This week I am going out for lunch on Wednesday and then on Sunday I am going to a curry night in aid of Marie Curie charity. That won't help.

I think my friend’s cooking was too rich for me (how things change!) because I was awake much of the night feeling yucky. Or maybe it was just coincidence as the feeling persisted until mid afternoon - when I was sick! I haven’t had much to eat today at all, a couple of wholemeal rolls and banana. I googled what to eat when felling sick (I was hungry in spite of it) and these were recommended if you’re nauseous. Actually it was toast they recommended, but I didn’t have bread. Not counting syns today; I’ll start again tomorrow with 6 days worth.

    Tuesday
    Breakfast: spaghetti on hexb toast
    Lunch: chicken salad, clementine
Dinner: shepherd’s pie (2 ½ syns), carrots, broccoli & peas
Snacks: Walkers French Fries ( 4 ½ syns), choc digestive (4 syns), 2 cream crackers (4 syns) with hexa cheese, tomato & basil

    Good luck everyone.
