Forgot to say made it to the gym last night and got a good treadmill workout done using the inclines. Sweat lashing off me. Might dig out the swimsuit Counting Pennies and have a go at that too!
I'm thinking Friday night cheat Chinese and really nice bottle of wine. Hope you enjoy yours!0 -
Morning everyone
Reporting a 3lb loss today which is very welcome, also over the moon as that breaks the 2.5 stone barrier for me which I feel like I've been hovering around for ages. Will update the chart in a mo and hope I don't break it!
Well done to roland and orlao on SOTW :T
Another non-group member here. I joined online for 3 months to get my books and magazine subscription and get a feel of how it all works but cancelled my membership after that. The only thing I really miss is being able to use the syns database but there's a Syns Allowed group on FB which is brilliant and has lots of syns info on there. Instagram is also great for support, motivation, meal ideas etc. Plus the support on here is of course second to none0 -
-1/2lb for me this week. Lois, please will you put me on the chart? I can't add any numbers. Thanks x
Pleased with that, would always like more but it's better than a STS.
My menu
He a skimmed milk
He b hi if bar

:T to everyone that's posted losses since I last visited. Seems like lots of you!:D
Sorry to hear about the disastrous score greentiger. At least you don't need to subtract wine gums from the syn bank! Swansea City lost last night as I'm sure they were resting players to meet/beat us on Saturday. We play tonight but away game.
It's not easy b-e-g but you have to try and ignore comments about your weight. We all care about what other people say but remember you're doing this mainly for yourself, your own health and happiness and other people's opinions are just that: they're opinions. I found the height/weight charts a good guide for the target weight I wanted to be. I'm bang in the middle of the healthy range for my height. Any lower and I know I'd look scrawny.
My issue is that any small gain seems to go to my thighs:(. I know they're not really big by some people's standards but they bother me. It seems exercise will be the only way so I'm going to take a brisk walk later and see if I can make myself feel better that way.
I stuck with steak and chips at the pub last night. Chips weren't at all greasy so maybe not too bad. Salad was a bit stingy compared with usual so I'll comment on that next time. I want a full side salad (like the picture on the menu!), what I had last night was more like a garnish.
I've stuck with my group because I have the time and nice people go there but I doubt I'd have stuck with it if I didn't lose although some people go to stop themselves gaining if that makes sense. Now I'm at target I go about once a month and don't pay so nothing to be gained by not going.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, bacon sandwich with HEB bread
L: ham, fried potato, pickled cabbage, fried veg (pepper, tomato, mushrooms, spring onion, mange tout)baked haddock, new potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, mixed greens (mange tout, peas, asparagus, broccoli).
Syns: scrape of spread
I'm using up veg from the fridge drawer as they're looking a bit sad. Must meal plan to use any remaining ASAP.0 -
I hate that when they scrimp with the salad as well. Mind you there is a place that I go too and they totally overload with the salad and you end up with melon, tinned pineapple, tinned peaches and slices of orange on your plate as well. Even if you only order a sandwich. Its a little too much.
Maman I think I will raid your wine store for a nice bottle for Friday night. Ok? :rotfl: If you have the Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc in store that would go down particularly well with me.
Talking of thighs you just reminded me I had a NSV last night when I put my leggings on for the gym. I thought oh look at the muscles in my thighs. So that's good, their on there way back.
With me BEG the very upper end of the recommended weight for my height is best for me. It does take time to work out where you think you should be and where you want to be and then more thinking about where you should really be. Its a minefield. Just go with it and suit yourself. You'll know where your happiest.0 -
b_e_g, I hope you don't mind me asking but as you have done so well with your weight loss, I wondered if you could post example days of the meals you have? Just to give me and I'm sure some others inspiration
No problem gbatey. It will probably do me good to write things down just incase I am getting a bit forgetful in my old age. I think we can all become a bit complacent once we have been doing it a while
.
Here goes for yesterday.
BREAKFAST - mixed fruit salad (don't usually have too many bananas over the week)
LUNCH - Bachelor's Chinese Savoury Rice with extra veggies added (mushroom, onions, peppers) with a tin of tuna in brine and a poached egg on top. Fresh pineapple for afters.
AFTERNOON - satsuma and finger of twirl
TEA - Spag Bol with loads of mushrooms, onions, carrots, courgettes, peppers and tinned toms. Muller Vanilla Yoghurt with Choc Sprinkles for afters.
SUPPER - 2 Ryvita (fruity ones), feta cheese, 8 olives, cherry toms and a Sainsbobs Greek Yoghurt Lolly.
HEB - Ryvita
HEA - Feta
SYNS - Rice 1.5, Gravy Granules 0.5, Olives 1, lolly 2.5, twirl 4.5 = 10 syns
Hope this helps someone. I will try to keep posting menus (usually after we have eaten them) but if I stop give me a shout. It is so difficult to keep up with all the posts.
LOIS - just thought I would let you know I have returned the flowered coat to Sainsbobs today and re-bought another one (same style and size) but they have 25% off clothing atm.
Right off to read a few more posts before we have our meal.

How many of you go to a group? I don't get much out of mine, so wondering if I can attempt to go it along and spend the money on a gym membership instead. I'm wasting my money currently as I've lost 2.5lbs since January (pretty much my own fault for not getting focussed!). I'm not on track for my challenge on here but need to do something, my dress fitting is next month sometime and it's not a lace up back so whatever I am for the fitting is what I will be on the day of the wedding. Which is stressing me out!
I go to group every week psycho and really enjoy it. We have some fab members who I now class as friends and a super consultant. I appreciate all groups are different and I am not too keen on the happy clappy stuff, but going to group works for me. I was asked the other day, if I will still go to class when I get to target and it has to be a big YES. Good luck with the wedding plans and dress fitting.

Wish me luck!!!

Good Luck CPBEG - Been there bought the t-shirt with the comments. Everyone thinks they have the right to comment on your weight. I think people get a shock from what you have gone from when you lose lots of weight and they are not used to seeing the slimmer you. If you had always been that weight and wanted to lose some weight no one would think anything of it.
When I was 1o stone 7 my mum used to say I looked about 9 stone. She says I don't look the weight I am. I remember going to the Drs years ago around 13 stone and she told me I was in the obsese category but that I didn't look it :rotfl:Its all relative to bone density and body frame and overall size. I'd look very ill at 9 stone and I'm only 5.5. I think I was on the verge of looking ill at 10.5 to be honest.
One of the people who thinks I have lost enough now- she has no idea how much I have lost as I refuse to tell her - surprised she hasn't had her spies come to class, told me today that she had seen someone who has lost over 6st and she didn't recognise them at all. She said their face had totally changed. Well, I didn't react in any way - at one time I would have said 'Well I've lost (whatever)'. I think she was trying to see if I would let anything slip out :rotfl: Well done on last nights treadmilling and the nsv with the leggings :T:T:T
Amazing loss candyapple :T
Well done Matron :T
Shame about the salad maman - I have had it as a side and its been more like a bit of garnish. Once when we had a meal and it was served with 'veg' and it turned out to be peas all one there lonesome  Pleased the chips were good. I have got to the stage now, I think, if I am having say chips while out and they are not good, I will have a few and leave the rest. In the old days I would have just stuffed the lot inSPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -
