I've just had a look on the Syns Allowed Facebook page and the kippers are coming up as free, even with the knob of butter. Eggs are also free, so you'd only have to syn any milk (or cream ) you add. The milk could be part of your HEA. Can't find the seeded loaf, but have you thought about buying gluten free wholemeal bread? You can have that as your HEB.

I got online last night and it appears Aldi kippers are syn-less but Sainsburys are not -so Aldis for kippers in future (I usually shop at Aldi but knew I didn't have time today to spend the time in there so did the online shop so I had no excuse to put off starting until I had been shopping LOL. I don't usually put milk in scrambled egg - but I'm thinking a little fromage frais would make it creamier if needed ?

Just coffee so far this morning - No sweetner in the house so half a teaspoon of sugar in it and milk measured out in a jug in the fridge for the day. Bovril was also on the delivery shop as an alternative drink to coffee .

Our classes are held on Bank Holiday Mondays duchy (don't know what happens if its Christmas Day mind you) and when the consultant is on her holidays she arranges for another consultant to cover the class for her. This might not always be possible if there aren't any consultants available in the area. Good luck for the Challenge :D I've also introduced bovril as an alternative to tea/coffee - probably far too much salt in it but hey ho :rotfl:

    Fantastic loss claysam :T

Well done on doing the GNR Tete and good luck for this week's wi - you deserve a good result after that. ;)

We were married on the 1st April Lois - I know I know :rotfl::rotfl. Definite child brides ;). Love the cartoon :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Absolutely p!ttling down here today. Was hoping to get 'dressed up' for our Afternoon Tea - a real dress and all that. Am actually considering trousers atm albeit smart ones ;). Had call from DS this morning asking if we could go out for their birthday meals on Friday as that would fit in with their time-tables - why not I said I will just not expect a loss next Monday. He told me I could afford to have a few treats now - ah bless him :D but there's a few treats and going totally off the bloomin rails. Will be thinking of you all whilst I am stuffing myself this afternoon with lovely sarnies (with mayo), cream scones and cakes :p:rotfl:

They are ok frozen for stews and ratatouille but go really mushy once they are defrosted. Thanks though, I might try grating them and freezing some in a kind of potato cake thingy.

Thank you.. so kind :rotfl: enjoy x

Tete - well done on the GNR! :j:j

Slipped a bit today, someone's bought in turron from their holidays  had a few pieces, no idea on syns... however i've counteracted it with much scan bran _pale_ so it should be ok! :rotfl:

    Red day today
B - melon, grapes, scan bran cake (heb +2) with banana
L - chicken salad, pineapple, beetroot
T - fakeaway donner kebab, pitta or wrap (heb), onion salad, mint yogurt
    S - crisps (5) turron (??) milk (hea)

I had a sneaky weigh on the scales this morning and the scan bran is definitely working, just 2.5 packets left to go

    Have a good day x

:T well done claysam, 5lbs is a fantastic loss.

I generally ignore the tiny pat of butter that comes with kippers as I share the pack with DH and don't mop it off the plate. Officially it's 1.5 syns (each) for my Sainsbury's ones. I didn't know Aldi's sold kippers so I'll look out for them.

midge, we grew globe courgettes this year and I stuffed them with savoury mince as you would do with marrow but in a cheat fashion. I'm sure it would work for long ones provided they're not too small and fiddly. The mince was HM from the freezer or you could use Bolognese sauce. Then I'd halve the courgette lengthwise and scoop out some of the middle (added that to the mince when I was reheating it). Cook the shells in the oven for about 30 mins then add the mince into the 'nests' and heat through for a while longer. I did it with new potatoes and whatever other veg was to hand.

I watched a bit of Jamie Oliver last night and he made a recipe like this
    http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/chicken-squash-cacciatore/#pC4SCUDWZyrY3uUw.97
I'm going to do it (adapted to SW) with sweet potatoes as DH loves them but it can be done with butternut squash!!;)

Have a lovely time this afternoon b-e-g.:) I think it's important that we accept that we can't be 100% good all the time as otherwise the plan wouldn't be sustainable. What matters is getting back on it after events are over.

That doesn't seem right that they'd charge you if they changed the day duchy. I'd question that. Our classes are every week regardless but when it has clashed with Christmas say she's done a session on another day but nobody's penalised if they can't make it.

Congratulations on the run tete. That's good news about the Sacla pesto, such an easy and tasty way of doing pasta.

Changed the menu for today as it's miserable so felt like comfort food.

    EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham with fried LO veg
D: sausage and mash, onions, cabbage, carrots, broccoli, peas, gravy
Syns: scrape of spread, gravy (granules)
  • Thanks Maman, that's a good idea. Some of mine are yellow globe courgettes so I will definitely try your suggestion.
