Have a lovely time this afternoon b-e-g.:) I think it's important that we accept that we can't be 100% good all the time as otherwise the plan wouldn't be sustainable. What matters is getting back on it after events are over.

Exactly! That's what I always struggle with, but I seem to be managing it so far on SW.

What is this Scran Bran of which you all speak?

Off to attempt some egg fried rice now - SW is definitely stretching my culinary prowess :D

    -3lbs for me shala.

:T it's still a good loss meg. I'm sure you'll find ways to avoid one next week;).

I'm not the person to ask about Scan Bran tete. I've never tried it because people tell me it's like chewing on cardboard. Basically it's crispbread, similar to Ryvita but denser and very high in fibre but people find all sorts of ways of using it in recipes.

Good for you making HM fried rice. I just buy the microwave pouches. John West, Waitrose and Aldi are all quite low syn.

If BF was behaving like that then you're well rid mildredd. I don't know where lantanna is today but she'd definitely around. She's had her op and is hitting the gym and getting her fitness back. Like you she's getting back to target and I'm sure she'll welcome a buddy:).

    Hi all,

I tend to keep up with you all by reading on the phone but as I'm incapable of typing anything other than gobbledegook on it :) I only log in to post for the challenge...but reading along is really helping me stick to the SW - in 10 weeks I've lost 1.5 stone :j and I'm not feeling deprived which is practically unheard of! And I've discovered and fallen in love with HB beef - what's not to love???

2.5 lb weight loss for me Shala

Question for the experts among us, how do you manage if you really don't like yoghurt, quark, fromage frais etc? Any thing that is soured milk  So many recipes use them as a substitute for cream and/or butter...I love curry.

    TIA

    That's a good loss. Well done!:T
I don't really like yogurt either. I will occasionally have Total 0% as a cream substitute on strawberries but that's about once a year. Most curry recipes I've used just stir in the yogurt at the end so you could probably leave it out or even if you did add it you'd be unlikely to have any 'sour milk' taste as the curry would overpower it.

I buy FF plain yogurt for my DH so I've got some in the house anyway. Have you anyone you could feed it to if it didn't work?

I'd certainly welcome any good, tomatoey curry recipes that are tried and tested. I don't like korma, prefer bhuna type meals.
  • Hi guys!!!

Broke my laptop charger 5 days ago and my new one just came today! Sooo much to catch up on!! Anyway, before I try and catch up, I got weighed last night and its -1lb for me please Shala :j

Happy with this. Little and often is my moto. I've never lost big amounts.

Great losses lovely people :T. It will be a couple of rocks in your pocket next week meg ;). How about the light coconut milk for a curry orlao? Not too sure of the syn value off hand though. We used a coconut and lime Muller with our curry last week and would definitely do it again but if you cannot do yoghurt then that wouldn't be good for you.

Back from afternoon tea and it was absolutely lush :D. Managed to get togged up too and the rain stayed away. Back on it now til Friday's family meal out.

I love courgette chips and fritters but I thought you wanted SW friendly recipes;).

You can make SW friendly courgette chips maman, just a few syns for the polenta and bake them... think there's a recipe in the magazine for something covered in polenta and it's only a few syns. Obviously they won't be as nice as full fat fried ones though :(

really enjoyed Jamie's new programme last week, nice steak tabboleh (sp?) just about to watch last nights :T looking forward to the cacciatore...

Mildreddd, did you want to join the challenge, we've just started week 3 of a 9 week challenge, feel free to join or not :D no pressure!

Good thing you installed the wine tap this week ;) :rotfl:

It's the devils food Tete ;) it's like a really dry ryvita made of bran. SW sell it but you can buy it in Holland and Barrett too, half a pack is a HEB. £1.55 at H&B not sure how much it is in class..

I'm having it to see if it gets rid of a few lbs before my holiday next week. It helps clear things out IYKWIM.. there are lots of recipes on the net using it but they're all quite inedible I've found and you have to drink gallons of water with them just to be able to swallow... :rotfl:

I'm good at selling stuff :rotfl: everyone will be rushing out to buy some now!

    Right it's chart time again!!

Well done all the people who have made it through another week whether you have lost, gained or STS!

    SOTW* is.... :T:j:T DILLON:T:j:T with a loss of 5.0lbs!!
