Good morning everyone, oh am I lucky SHALA ! Only 0.5 lbs this week, but after the week I've had I am lucky not to have gained .
Oh, it's hard going but I know I have to be patient.:D
Sorry it's not red nor bold but it really doesn't deserve to be.
I will try harder this week.
Hope everyone else has done well this week :T:T:T:T:T0 -
Don't beat yourself up wiz, we can't all be perfectly 100% all of the time. It would be so boring if we couldn't have an off plan meal now and again. You are doing so well, keep plodding :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

It's a loss, don't knock it!;)
Hope your sore tum has cleared up tie.ScarletMarble wrote: »I have noticed that the countries I have visited which grow loads of fruit n veg, hardly offer it on menus or hotel buffets. I wonder why.
I had this discussion with a restauranteur in France. His theory was that people see eating loads of veg as a cheap/peasant way of eating as that's what's traditionally been done at home filling up on home grown veg. When they eat out they want loads of meat as a sort of status symbol if that makes sense. Plus I think it's easy to heat up a few chips and plonk a tomato and some frozen peas on the side.
Having travelled in Turkey a lot though, it's a vegetarian paradise with loads of aubergines, courgettes and tomatoes used in their recipes and lovely meze. Unfortunately they use a lot of olive oil and far too much bread for mopping up juices:(.summerlady wrote: »STS this week.
I don't always feel I need the syns, so would it be better to save them up and use them for a meal out? Not to go mad, but just to give a wider choice then steak and salad?
It can be easier to have syns when you're out. I very occasionally buy a packet of crisps with a sandwich lunch as I know if I have a multipack in the cupboard they'll call to me. Another idea is to have a slice of cake in a coffee shop rather than a whole cake at home that keeps asking to be finished off. Or you could treat yourself to a Chinese or Indian for a change. Good plan to keep reading.:)
I've just put 10 portions of Bolognese in the freezer as I'd run out of HM ready meals.

Austrian ham and potato hash on the go for dinner, thank you to whoever put mamans recipe on the first page :A
Am using my big pressure cooker pan as doing a lot because family ate it all last time and it won't fit in my fry pan. Hopefully be some left for lunch tomorrow (fingers crossed).
Had to use 2 small and a medium ham as Tesco don't do the big one that Sainsbury do so will stock up when next there.
Am surprised sw have done this recipe as they're usually all about fresh ingredients not processed. I don't normally get tinned ham because of the processed texture. Family like it though!
Need two dishes for the oven too :rotfl:
Tummy still grumbling at me from yesterday but usually settles after a couple of days if I behaveIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Hope the Austrian hash goes down well tie. It was b-e-g's recipe that I tweaked so can't claim credit. I made it again this week and tipped it all into a big dish, sprinkled with grated cheese and then reheated in oven when I was ready for it. We had veg on the side instead of eggs as DH doesn't eat them.
I know what you mean about processed ham. I'd thought I could make it with gammon from a joint but that tastes lovely on its own so doesn't need putting in a hash. I find it a cheap meal as I'm using ham from the £ shop or this week from H&M.
Tomorrow we'll probably have a light lunch out for DH's birthday then come home for cake & champagne at teatime with DD1 and DGD1 (others came yesterday). Then unless he wants to do otherwise I'm making dauphinoise potatoes to go with duck for dinner and Thai fishcakes (courtesy of Waitrose) to start. I find the dauphinoise freeze quite well so I'll make two portions.0 -

After a gain last week I feel very "un-moneysaving" as I'm paying out my money to SW then not doing the plan.
Today I will start reading all the posts on here for inspiration.
I struggle with syns. I buy for example a pack of treats for syns, because they seem to come n packs, then have a brain takeover by aliens who make me eat the pack.
I don't always feel I need the syns, so would it be better to save them up and use them for a meal out? Not to go mad, but just to give a wider choice then steak and salad?
I've put my cheese into the back of the freezer and have no bread or "treat" type things.
I have to shop for fruit and vegetables only so I will stick to those aisles then come away.
Best wishes to all. I am coming back later to read all your posts.
Don't beat yourself up too much summerlady. You say that you dont always need your syns - so how about not buying them and then they wont be in the house for temptation then use your syns as part of your meals (either make a sauce, extra cheese and the like). As you say, you could always save your syns and be a bit more synful if you have a meal out. It's just a case of finding something that works for you. I see maman has given you some suggestions too. Hope you have a good week.
Morning all
We couldn't live much further apart unless we were in different countries!
Is the parka quite light? I'm thinking of treating myself to one to take to Spain but I don't want anything too heavy.
I would say that it is fairly light and unpadded Lois. I will have to wear it soon before it gets too cold here and I will still needed to buy a warmer coat to see me through our winter (especially since I have lot my 'flabby coat' :rotfl: It is showerproof too (or so it says). I could weigh it for you if that would help so it may give you some idea.Good morning everyone, oh am I lucky SHALA ! Maybe you haven't been as naughty as you thought wiz
Know where to come now maman if we fancy bolognaise through the week:rotfl:. DH cooked our gammon joint in SC yesterday for meal last night and lunch with DS today and he did four portions of HB steak - two for us and two for DS to take home with him.
It sounds as though the Austrian Hash is a success then TIE. I love it when we find something that everyone likes and any leftovers can go in the freezer for later. I've always steered clear of the processed ham but there are some that come up as free or quite low syn if they are being used for lots of servings. Noticed that Lidl have tins of braised steak (Manor House?) and they are coming up as free. Don't know what the quality is like or the price for that matter but M&S and Sainsbobs are decent quality but they are quite pricey at £2.75+ (good standby for emergencies). Too expensive I think to use if you are cooking for a family.
Have a good time beanie
Trying to get some stuff sorted to go on fleabay tonight so I know what I will be doing for the next couple of hours.

Hello  apologies for being awol.. I've had a bit of a sw meltdown, I lost 0.5lb last week at weigh in and after that I just went a bit haywire  In my head, I think I've failed doing SW because I haven't been able to lose more weight before holiday, (i'd hoped to have been another stone down
) but it is what it is and I've no one to blame but myself... so I just need to get on with it
Sneaky weigh in this morning reveals 1.5lb on but I did have a massive portion of fish and chips last night so hopefully some of that will come off quickly and I've bought [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] lots of scan bran  so hopefully that will help:rotfl: scan bran challenge ahead!! 5 a day!!
Definitely back to the healthy eating this week, not necessarily for the weight loss, but just because my tummy feels so uncomfortable and I've a constant headache!
Challenge update - I have picked up everyone's results and new people  if you've asked to join I have added you on.. I apologise if you've felt ignored in anyway! (think it was just claysam, whichwhydoiturn and Roland)

Well done on your loss, and seriously, eating one chocolate? :T:T to you... whole bag would have been in my gob!
Size 14 BEG! :T:T doesn't matter if other stuff was 16-18, you're now officially into the 14's!

I'm with you on that one Lois, thanks everyone, I think without this thread i'd have gone right off the rails never to come back!TakeItEazy wrote: »Austrian ham and potato hash on the go for dinner, thank you to whoever put mamans recipe on the first page :A
