Excellent NSV with the parka b-e-g. You'll soon have a wardrobe full of 14s.;)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Think it will be a long while til that happens maman. Still got loads of 20s and even some 22s that don't look too big. Think the parka is just cut generously :D

Been to hairdressers this afternoon to see how much I could sensibly get cut off - don't think it will have much effect on Monday nights wi :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Booked my next two hair appts which takes me up to the Saturday before Christmas :p Not usually this organised - must be with the thought of the challenges makes me realise that it is not that far away. If we lose 1lb a week - we could be a stone lighter for Santa :D.

Weather is nicer here now than it has been all day. Shame it was very wet this morning for the Junior Great North Run but I don't suppose the young ones would have felt the rain :rotfl:

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Thursday night, I returned from my coach tour holiday in Spain. Weighed myself yesterday morning - 4lb on.

I was going into the unknown everyday, food wise. Three hotels, five towns/cities. Plus with every menu I read, they are so vague. It says chicken in sauce (what sauce?), grilled salmon and nothing else. In almost every eating outlet, the dish is individually described or grouped together with 'all dishes are served with your choice of potato and peas or salad'

I have been to Spain before and ordered some sea bass and it was just sea bass. This time round, one place I ordered a selection of grilled seafood and asked what is it served with. Waiter said 'vegetables' and turned out to be chips!!! No such thing as a side salad.

I have noticed that the countries I have visited which grow loads of fruit n veg, hardly offer it on menus or hotel buffets. I wonder why.

At breakfast buffets at the hotels, I didn't touch the Danish pastries. I have eaten a full plate of them in the past. Had cold meats, melon, boiled egg, scrambled egg, tomatoes and once, fat free Greek yoghurt.

Plus I had large quantities of alcohol.

    Started back to basics yesterday.

Evening all, made a huge mistake earlier  was desperate for toast so gave in and had wholemeal!! Nothing wrong with that you say! but.... I'm intolerant to gluten/wheat so am feeling awful. Made me have a funny turn, felt very faint and flaked out on sofa for couple of hours. Woke to intense tummy pain which is still ongoing :(. Totally my own fault though :o

WI this morning to a 1lb & a bit loss so going with -1lb. Not bad coincidering my iffy eating this week :p.

Now just wish the pain would go :(

Oh saw a nice recipe on Pinterest for crispy sweet chilli chicken, was advertised as sw but didn't give the syn value. As there was 25g of plain flour there must be some. Anyone know please?

Hello, Rolandtheroadie and congrats on your good start.

Congrats on the lovely neat parka, b_e_g. Freddo update – he’s still alive! I think you're right about actifry – it is a mahoosive beast; not sure it would justify the space it will take up. Still to do the taste test here.

I’m sure that wee weight gain will disappear soon, Scarlett, and you will be left with lovely memories.

Well done, TIE. I hope you feel better soon.

I had scrambled egg and a Milbona ff strawberry yogurt for lunch Forgot to leave out pork to thaw , so, since our team came back from 2-0 down at half time to win 2-3, we stopped en route home to eat. I was pretty well behaved, choosing a gammon steak with egg (didn’t notice any oil but I suppose there was), pineapple (def looked, tasted and felt like a fresh slice), peas and – wait for it – potatoes instead of chips. It was a bit dry as I didn’t add the butter that had been put on the side for me. And I nibbled on the mini shortbread while watching DH tuck into a banana waffle with cream, ice cream and caramel sauce - and didn’t feel hard done by at all.
Supper was hexa toast with hexa red Leicester cheese and ham

    Syns bank: 29
Saturday’s syns: toasted crumpet & jam (6), wine gums (4), oil (1), 2 wee bits of mini shortbread (6)
I’ll have hexa cheese and grapes for supper.
    Syns balance: 12

Sunday – trying to stay under 10 syns
Breakfast: LMcC roro sausages & beans, fruit
Lunch: hm leek & potato soup
Dinner: marinated lamb with potato salad
Snacks (choose from):hexa, hexb, WW cake slice (4 sysn), Walkers French Fries (4 ½ syns)

  • LONG LIVE FREDDO Greentiger :T:T:T I can feel a sainthood coming your way anytime - off to polish your halo ;) :rotfl:

Noticed some people have been very quite this week - hope all is well with you all.

DS coming this morning and staying for lunch so we cooked a gammon joint in SC yesterday and will have our main meal at lunch time. You can tell we are having company - yorkshire pudds are appearing on the menu - just get cheap frozen ones and I think they are around 2 syns each so not too bad. :D

  • STS this week.

After a gain last week I feel very "un-moneysaving" as I'm paying out my money to SW then not doing the plan.

Today I will start reading all the posts on here for inspiration.

I struggle with syns. I buy for example a pack of treats for syns, because they seem to come n packs, then have a brain takeover by aliens who make me eat the pack.
I don't always feel I need the syns, so would it be better to save them up and use them for a meal out? Not to go mad, but just to give a wider choice then steak and salad?

    Todays meals
    Porridge and blueberries (HEXA HEXB)
Smoked mackerel and salads (mackerel is syns)
Liver and bacon casserole, potatoes and lots of fresh vegetables.
    Fruit for snacks.

I've put my cheese into the back of the freezer and have no bread or "treat" type things.

I have to shop for fruit and vegetables only so I will stick to those aisles then come away.

Best wishes to all. I am coming back later to read all your posts.

    Morning all :)

The day started well, lovely and sunny, but we've just had a really heavy downpour, trapping a few customers in the shop who'd left without coats or brollies! Now the sun is out again, but not sure how long for.
If we lived a bit nearer we could share it Lois :rotfl: Nealy put it on this morning but it was absolutely chucking it down - well I couldn't wear it for the first time in the pouring rain - could I :rotfl:

We couldn't live much further apart unless we were in different countries!

Is the parka quite light? I'm thinking of treating myself to one to take to Spain but I don't want anything too heavy.
Well done Lois - you have done well over the summer considering all the temptations you have had around you.

You must be delighted lois to see a loss. I think you've been a real hero trying to stick to plan surrounded by so many temptations all summer.

At the beginning of the season I had visions of losing another 2 stone by the end of it and I've been getting really annoyed at myself because it hasn't happened. However I'm beginning to realise that it was probably an unrealistic goal and I'm actually happy that I've managed not to put loads of weight back on - it would have been so easy. My mind is still in the right place, and I'm determined to get do target no matter how long it takes.

Thanks are due to everyone here on the thread, you all help to keep me on the right track. :T

We're out for lunch at friends today, she does SW herself so I'm expecting it to be fairly good. I'm going to drive home so I won't need to save syns for wine - DH can have some instead.

    Have a good day everyone.
