Late starter folks, joined SW 8 weeks ago come Tuesday and getting good results so far (25 1/2lb down at last weigh in)
Could you put me down for a 35lb loss by Halloween? Weigh in last week (8th Sept) was 3 1/2lb loss so that can come off the total.

Got the link to the thread from an Aldi/Lidl thread, thanks maman.

Welcome roland glad you found us. I was posting over there about how it's possible to do SW without breaking the bank. You've done ever so well in just 8 weeks:T.

I'll be back later when I've done my meal plan for the week:).

Disappointed with a STS this week. Need to up the veggies I think. I see Morrisons has Mullers on at 10 for £2. Think I might get some of them instead of the Lidl version (31p each) this week. Onwards and downwards!
Quidco cashback paid out so far £745.89 :j

Not sure if this link works:

I found it via the SW site so it may only work if you have access to the site.

It's strange b-e-g how confident you get wearing colours once the weight starts to go. I suppose it's all about feeling better about yourself and not needing to hide any more. When I was fat I seemed to dress in black from head to toe with just the occasional coloured jacket or scarf. When I started buying from the CS to see me through the changing dress sizes I started experimenting with colour too. The parka isn't that expensive and would certainly be cheerful in the coming months.

I'm struggling a bit at the moment but we have so many birthdays and things this month it's no surprise. I suppose we all long for a straight run at SW but RL has a habit of getting in the way. I've resolved to just do a beanie and keep plodding through eating on plan whenever I can. If I stay in range it will be an achievement. Out for lunch (AGAIN!) tomorrow and I don't know where I'm going so can't plan. It'll be SW breakfast and dinner though.

Thanks for link maman and Lois - discussed with DH and as good an offer it is, we have decided that we really do not have the space for one at this moment in time. Oh well SW chips in the oven it is then :D

An update on the floral parka maman - I bought it but the best bit ever ... in a size 14 . Ok, I know most of the other stuff I was trying on was 16-18 but still :rotfl: Cannot remember the last time I bought a size 14 for myself :rotfl:

Enjoy the birthday celebrations maman. Feels a bit like that here too - we have afternoon tea on Tueday, then towards the end of the month we have Mum's birthday, DS's gf and DS's birthdays end of Sept and mid-Oct so I was hoping we could have a joint celebration meal for the last two and use it as a bit of damage limitation :rotfl:. DH and I were also hoping to have a couple of days away too. ;)

For those asking about frogletina, she posted on another thread a little while ago about her son being in hospital.Maybe this is keeping her busy for now.

Thanks for update on our little green friend Saver-upper.

    - 4 lbs for me please.

Least that's 4 of that ridiculous gain from last week gone. Hopefully the other 2 plus more comes off next week!

I have found the perfect 1 syn treat! A mini Terrys Chocolate Orange Segment! I bought a bag of them yesterday as they are on offer and yes amazingly I did just have the one! :rotfl:

Well done lantanna on loss and on sticking to one choccy :D

Hi looking for some advice if you experienced SW people don't mind. I have been lucky with weight for over 50 years and then my thyroid packed up. I rapidly gained weight before I got a diagnosis and once I was on the right dose of thyroxine the weight gradually went down with no effort on my part but I got stuck at about 10 lb above my normal weight and I would love to shift it.

I have never dieted and have no idea what to do. I do have a sweet tooth which is my downfall. I am thinking of joining SW but it all seems really complicated. Is it hard to get into, is it flexible? My husband is quite a fussy eater and I look after DGC 3 or 4 afternoons a week so don't want to be cooking 3 different meals.

Any advice welcome and if I do take the plunge I will join the challenge.

Hellooo mumps  A lot of the usual family type meals can be tweaked to make them SW friendly. It can all seem a bit daunting at the start, but if you can get to a class and get the up to date books, you can always pop in here and get any clarification on anything that seems double-dutch. I think there was an offer for joinging SW in one of the women's mags this week (may have been Bella?). As for your sweet-tooth - that's me :D. What I find works for me, when fruit and low fat yoghurts don't hit the spot, use most of my 10-15 syns on some chocolate etc or something else that is sugary sweet rather than artificial sweetener sweet if that makes sense. Sometimes I'm ok with fruit, but other times it has to be chocolate ;). Good luck if you decide to join our fun challenge. :D

Too old, never I take the view that if I like it and it makes me feel good then I am going to wear it. Have a fad for collecting scarves and pashminas at the moment have just ordered this one off ebay

Hello! I'm back from my travels at last and so this is my first day back on plan. I weighed myself and it's not very good and I'm definitely too jiggly when I walk.

I'm hoping I can give myself a kick up the backside!

Welcome back Mountaingirl  Don't worry we've saved you a seat on the SW bus - hop on ;) and hopefully you will be rewarded for your hard work next wi.

I'm a bit older than you and I have the same concerns about some things, not wanting to be mutton dressed as lamb, but IMO the important thing is how well the item fits. As far as colour is concerned, the brighter the better! I spent my younger years wearing dark colours because people said its more flattering for fatties, but now I try to avoid them.

Love that coat :heart2: it would look great with my white jeans! :rotfl:

    LL :)

If we lived a bit nearer we could share it Lois :rotfl: Nealy put it on this morning but it was absolutely chucking it down - well I couldn't wear it for the first time in the pouring rain - could I :rotfl:

b_e_g, the Freddo is still sitting out and I’m still not interested. I hope the pain eases soon for your mum. As a teacher, I was offered a flu jab every year, but I never took it. Luckily, I’ve never had the flu (touching hairy wood, just in case). My 2 slow cookers live (lids inverted, lol) in a cupboard and have to get hauled out at least once a week. The pressure cooker is further back in the same cupboard.

Result with the Freddo greentiger :T Still debating about about flu jab - just don't know why I have been offered it  I think DH and I have decided that space is of a premium in our kitchen so we are going to leave Actifry for the time being.

Dont be too disheartened Sue and gbatey with your STSs. Hope you are both rewarded with losses next wi. Our Morrisons had very limited choice of Mullers Sue - hope you have better luck.
