Thanks Beanie, haven't actually really lost anything though. Just part of that freak gain from last week. My time will come ;)

Got some bananas the other day in Asda for 10p! Meg you would be proud of me so been eating one of those a day and I think they are def giving me more energy.

Having pasta salad for lunch and Mayflower Chicken Curry with Cauli Rice and BNS Chips for t.

Going to try and go to the gym tonight. Never go on a Friday and that mentality would need to change. Whats 45 mins on a Friday night when I have all night to relax. Will make me feel less bad about bringing the gin out anyway:rotfl:

Hi looking for some advice if you experienced SW people don't mind. I have been lucky with weight for over 50 years and then my thyroid packed up. I rapidly gained weight before I got a diagnosis and once I was on the right dose of thyroxine the weight gradually went down with no effort on my part but I got stuck at about 10 lb above my normal weight and I would love to shift it.

I have never dieted and have no idea what to do. I do have a sweet tooth which is my downfall. I am thinking of joining SW but it all seems really complicated. Is it hard to get into, is it flexible? My husband is quite a fussy eater and I look after DGC 3 or 4 afternoons a week so don't want to be cooking 3 different meals.

Any advice welcome and if I do take the plunge I will join the challenge.

Yay!!! :T always like to see losses rolling in. Well done both of you.

It's a good plan to go to the gym lantanna . I always find the later I start on the alcohol syns the better and as you said you've all weekend to relax so a short visit won't cut into your weekend too much.

You've come to the right place for advice mumps. Slimming World is very flexible. Treats are built into the plan but obviously only a set amount so if it's sweet stuff that floats your boat then you prioritise that and do without crisps or other naughties. There's absolutely no need to cook separate meals and lots of child friendly favourites are easy to cater for like pasta or sausage and mash. For example, it's just a question of buying the right sort of sausages and making your own pasta sauce rather than a jar. I'd take a look at the sample 7 day menu on the SW website to give you an idea of how it works. It's really not complicated after a while. If you did decide to join a group (wouldn't be for too long with only 10lbs to lose) then you could easily do it alone after that. Just keep asking questions:).

I'm off out for lunch in a bit so goodness knows what I'll be eating. Had SW breakfast (boiled eggs and toast) and dinner will be SW so will report on lunch later.

Clicked on the linky Lois and nothing much happened :(

It works when I click it, insofar as it takes you to the SW login screen so it is restricted to members, which I know you are. Maybe you'll get the information from your consultant next time you go to group.

A friend has passed an actifry on to me because she didn’t have room for it! I haven’t tried it yet – because I don’t have much room either!!! It is huge!

They are available in different sizes so you may have the largest one. I have a very small kitchen so I only buy gadgets that I know I will use, I haven't got space to store anything else! So it has it's own space in the cupboard under the sink, and when in use it takes up the space beside the sink leaving very little room for dirty dishes. I wouldn't be without it though, the chips and roasties are better than if they're cooked in the oven IMO.

Mumps, Maman is the lady to help you without doubt! I would say def give it a go, it doesn't take to long to get your head round at all and nothing is banned you just have to plan for it. Most meals can be made SW friendly and they don't scream diet food either. There was a free membership voucher in Bella magazine this week - I think. If you google it, it should pop up. You could always join get the books and info and see what you think.

Great minds think alike Maman, also I'll tire myself out in the gym and then I'll not want to drink too much as I'll want to go to bed:rotfl: The toning up that I can see is also a great incentive at the minute. I know I'm not really getting anywhere scales wise but I'm getting my toned look back and I've def lost inches. :D
