Well that’s a disappointment :(– I’m posting a STS this week. Actually my scales gave me every weight from a 1lb loss to a 4lb gain. No amount of hopping on and off was of any help. I’ve gone for STS because I think I did enough last week to deserve a loss, but I’m not wanting to ruin next week’s results, IYSWIM. Oh and I enter my weight on an app on my phone and, going on progress (or lack of it), it predicts I will reach my target on Feb 22 2137! Hmm that’ll be because my remains will have turned to dust!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Would it be worth weighing in once a week at chemist where results might be a little bit more steady greentiger?

:jOmg I lost 5lb this week (Shala)I have had a good week but didn't think it was that good. Got my stone award and also slimmer of the week don't think it went down well in class as I went to a different class this week and then came and got slimmer if the week. Can I change my target weight for the mini challange as I have exceeded it already I want to put it to 14lb :j

Well done on fab loss and on SOTW award dillon :T

Forget to say well done lantanna on the latest pin-up pics :p :rotfl:

  • Well I'm reporting in tonight shala with a 1.5lbs loss which meant I received my 8.5 stone shiney :j:j:j. Chuffed to bits and just celebrated with Cheesy Mac with Tuna and then I had a lovely cup of redbush tea and a Cadbury's Boost Bar (12.5 syns and within daily allowance :p) :rotfl::rotfl:

Got some broth mix in soaking tonight and DH is making some broth (using a large pack of gorgeously lean/thick cooking bacon) in the morning whilst I'm out as I have quite a hectic day tomorrow and mealtimes will be all awry.

    Have a good week everyone.

    :T to sue, Dillon, CP and b-e-g!! That's brilliant:D.

Feeling for you greentiger. Seems so unfair when you've stayed within syns so well. I'm going to keep watching your menus like a hawk in case I can find anything. Good point b-e-g made about the scales as they shouldn't be wavering about so much. Glad you're still raring to go.:)

Here's the info on the singing swede
    http://vicki-kitchen.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-singing-swede-slimming-world.html

I generally prepare in advance, mix with mashed carrot, put it in a dish and sprinkle the top with cheese (ideally from HEA) and bake in the oven. It's yummy.

I have been sooooo bad the last couple of days.

Well, much to my shock, after such an awful week, foodwise, and feeling so down,I have lost 1.5lb!!! taking me 1/2 pound under target :eek:.I am now, apparently, the lightest I have been since the end of July,2013:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.
Really not sure how it happened, the amount of rubbish I have eaten this week.I really must have been saving syns for about the last 3 years :rotfl::rotfl:

    My menu today:
    Breakfast: 2 slices wholemeal toast (HEB),Flora light (1 syn),marmite,

    Snack: an apple

    Snack: Oreo ice cream (5.5syns)

Tea: Indian take-away from Tesco. My plan today had always been to have this meal as a final "treat" (after such a bad week food-wise ) before getting back ontrack tomorrow. Now it seems I need to have a few more meals like it if I'm not going to be paying next week!:rotfl:

smedley, I'm not exactly sure of the science behind a weightloss plateau but I think it might be the body's way of hanging on to fat when it hasn't got much left as a sort of survival thing. They are very common and generally only happen when you get close to target. If you have a lot left to lose then it's possible that either you're not having enough variety (body used to having exactly the same) or there is a mistake creeping in somewhere. The other option is not enough Speed food!!:D

SW do recommend EESP as a short term way of speeding up weightloss. It's not the same as EE. You need to limit yourself to Speed Food, Protein, HEXs (1A and 2Bs) and syns. So no carbs like potatoes, rice or pasta and no free yogurts. So, as an example, instead of having a typical meal of a third each of meat, speed veg and potatoes you have half each lean meat and veg and no potatoes. One way of getting round the lack of carbs is to substitute a Speed food so things like lantanna's Bolognese on top of a BNS instead of pasta or I've done swede and carrot mash instead of potato. It is a bit restrictive but it's not meant to be a permanent way of eating. It might be what you and your mum need as a project to kick start weightloss again.

    Thanks maman,

Great to get clarification that EESP is not the same as EE.
There are some great tips to get started with.
I will also look into the other EESP info.
I also think that the body is holding onto the fat for some reason, and is shocked into not wanting to lose any more.
All this extra info will give my Mum the motivation to continue, being able to try other techniques, based on real life experiences.
    :)

The things I've tried Smedley when the numbers have stuck are to try and vary Healthy Extras and to make sure I am using my syns. Just a thought, is your Mum being too strict with herself - people have commented that when they have had a few 'off plan' meals' it can sometimes boost their metabolism. It can get quite frustrating at times when things don't shift as we would like them, but just try and keep your eyes on the end result and the fact you are eating healthily and have both lost decent amounts so far and you are reaping the benefits already. :)

    Thanks Blue,

    Again, great advice,
My Mum does look and feel better :)

I do keep telling her to intake more Syns like nuts and Milk in her HE's, I will have a chat to see if she is still eating enough Syns.
Will check her charts to see if this could be a problem.

I do know we both struggle to get close to the Syns allowance, I usually manage about half of my allowance, and I am really pigging myself! I do get my HE's in most days.

Congrats on the loss beg and well done on getting the new shiney.

Thanks for the recipe for the singing swede maman will be making that tomorrow night.

Well done on the loss saver upper how amazing is that to be at your lightest for 2 years - go you.:j

Right menu plan for today is:

    Breakfast - toast and jam
lunch: baked potato with tuna, cheese and salad
    dinner: SW chicken noodles

I bought a couple of the sw meals this week as I always tend to have something really naughty when I come home from weigh in but I figure I really have had enough naughtiness for one week at the weekend so will try and be sensible. I really need a good loss next week otherwise I will not make my interim target for xmas!

Well done BEG that's absolutely amazing!! Hope you enjoyed the Boost Bar, I used to love the coconut one that was out years ago before they stopped it.

Greenbeanie - Lime in BNS Soup, must look into that.

Maman - You would get 4 or more portions out of a big butternut squash. You could try wedges and throw the rest into a soup or do as a roasted veg. Please

Talking of coats, I have a lovely long red coat which I def need to slim down to wear again so that's more incentive right there. I could do with a couple of casual warm jackets for going to work though. I normally buy a couple in Asda in the winter especially when I was going through the sizes!! My black one is done and must go in the bin actually so must start to look out for another one as they usually go quickly.

    Menu for today:

B: Yeo Valley Yogurt (1.5 syns), 30g Weetabix (HE)

    L: Tuna Pasta Salad

D: LO Bolognese, HE Cheese, BNS Wedges, Pickles & Gherkins
