Chocolate never used to be my thing but I find myself wanting it most nights now. Usually a 3 syn square of 70 %. I'd love to knock that on the head too.

Same here lantanna. I've never had a sweet tooth and would prefer a cheese board to a dessert any time but I've taken to nightly squares of 70%. I think maybe it's to do with cutting back on wine syns. Or maybe just greed!;)

Thanks for the BNS instructions lois. I've never eaten it myself. What does it taste of?

Work lunches can be really difficult tete especially if you're hoping to buy something rather than make it yourself. It needs planning but looks like you're doing well with your choice today.

    Today's EE plan.
B: NAS Grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
    L: cold pork, fried veg
D: chicken stir fry (mushrooms, mange tout, peppers, spring onions) with plain rice and if hungry SW chips
Syns: squirt of syrup, tbs of honey in stir fry sauce

You can also pop a whole BNS in its skin into the oven and it will cook in about half an hour. Let it cool and then remove skin and seeds.

    Hi all,

Slimming World low fat eating has educated me on how I can eat healthier, and I have never eaten and felt so good...

I have a question regarding Hitting a Plateau on weight loss.

My mum and I started the SW plan together (we are 26 weeks in), we both follow the Extra Easy plan religiously, and keep food diaries.

Has anyone ever hit a weight plateau?
What did you do to kick start again?
    Why does this happen?

I know I find it harder to lose weight after losing 2st 5.5lbs (still doing the same successful things), and my Mum has not lost or gained weight for 8 weeks now (she is doing aerobic exercise every day).

I did see an article from this forum about Extra Easy SP, furthermore when I went to SW online, I saw that the Extra Easy SP seemed to be Extra Easy (or that's how it seemed).
Menu item (Slimming World->my weight loss plan->Extra Easy SP)

My mum is on the point of throwing in the towel again!
She had the same thing 10 years ago when she joined a local SW group, the consultant promised to help but never did :(

    Would appreciate any feedback.

    Morning all :)

Had a lovely day yesterday - went to the beach in the afternoon and had a barbecue when we got back, we haven't done that for ages. Had a Sainsbury's BGTY 1/4pounder and it was very nice. We also had a whole sea bass that one of our customers caught and gave us. DH had to clean it and prepare it - I wouldn't know where to start! It was gorgeous and there was loads of it. We've got another one in the freezer.

It's lovely here again today so we're off out this afternoon, to the golf range to give DH a chance to practice his swing before he plays golf on Wednesday, then probably somewhere we can have a walk near the sea.

Meg - well done for getting back into the target zone.

Have a good day everyone, and good luck for all the weigh ins this week.

It's similar to sweet potato but less sweet with a slight nuttiness.

    Smedley,

I hit many plateaus during my journey. Generally when I upped my exercise or pmt hit.

I can remember being 10.7 stone for 10 weeks in a row. You've got to make sure that you change up what your eating every so often as your body gets used to it. Same goes for exercise, try different times etc. A cheat meal can also help restart things, or a few days off and then start back in to it. Your body gets used to everything quickly and gets used to a certain level and type of foods and exercise.

Good thing is though they do eventually shift. Sometimes though your body is also trying to tell you that its at a happy weight.

    Excellent advice lantanna,

All this advice sounds like great advice,
I can see how a cheat meal can be beneficial too

    Thanks

Another vote here for cooking whole, I find it to difficult to peel as I have arthritis, it can also be done in microwave. I put it in a clear roasting bag and its done in 1o mins. for soup I don't remove the skin only the seeds, then blitz it in processor.

I normally cut it into chips or wedges and stick it on the George foreman if its not for soup.

Tonight I'm cutting it in two roasting it and serving the Bolognese on top of it like its a boat.

Have taken the progress pics, Monday seems to be my preferred day for this :rotfl:. Things are def getting smaller so I'm not worrying I will just keep going! Mind you it would be nice to have shed that scary 6lb gain by Friday!

It is so frustrating at times Smedley. you've just got to keep going. Its a constant work in progress. Losing or maintaining its all about effort and keeping focused and your mind on the ball. I'd love to just be able to eat without thinking about it and having to plan it but I can't or I would be back the size of a house again. :rotfl: If you and your Mum are doing well and feeling happy don't put too much pressure on yourselves. It doesn't matter when you get to target you'll be just as happy when you get there in whatever space of time. You've put in loads of hard work so far and yeah your not at target and you maybe thought you would be but you've both lost and are keeping it off:T

In the Microwave:eek: Think I'd be afraid of this!!! Bit afraid of the singing Turnip too! Thankfully I don't like turnip so there will never be one in my microwave singing! :rotfl:
