Lantanna's absolutely right gocat. There was nothing wrong with what you ate yesterday. Our weight fluctuates all the time but we're often not aware of it. I threw away my bathroom scales and only ever weigh at group. I've known people going it alone who go into Boots once a week. What matters is trying to control variables for a weekly WI: so try for same time of day and same clothes.
Welcome debtfreeoneday. Like tweets has done(so brilliantly), it's very possible to do it on your own without a group but it really helps to get the books. New books came out in January. One visit would cost you £10. The challenge runs from now until Halloween!
wiz, I saw those sugar free Marie biscuits that you have in Poundworld today. Is that where you buy them? I also bought Mikado with plain chocolate in there as I thought for half a syn each they'd make a change with my cuppa in the evening.
Then I went to Poundland and they had Ye Olde Oak ham in 300g tins which will be perfect for more Austrian hash. I also stocked up on Crunchies;).0 -
Sorry that was a bit of a hit and run post earlier, I just read it back, hope it didn't come across sharp.. i'd just logged on to post after reading and my boss called me to do something.. very rude of them
so Meg and tweets you are now on the chart :T
welcome back gocat
Hi DFOD, we run a bi-monthly challenge where you set a target for yourself, it's not a competition, just a way of keeping yourself motivated with mini targets throughout your journey.. we're just starting the Sept/Oct one, finishes on Halloweenso just let me know your target if you wish to join us.

That's a good loss, didn't you lose 4lb last week(sorry my memories not brilliant)? that's nearly half a stone added up :TI believe that Good old Campfire Stew is in the new Mag again. (In the shops tomorrow for those not in a group)
I went and bought the magazine the other day thinking it was the new one..now I've got two copies of the old one...
I also bought Mikado with plain chocolate in there as I thought for half a syn each they'd make a change with my cuppa in the evening.
Can you only eat a few though maman? i'd have the whole box away..
Well OH has gone to band practice so a lovely evening to myself, just cleaned my silver rings using bicarb, foil and water, i'm amazed how shiney they've come up!! Now i'm off to shellac my nails - takes me forever, so it'll keep me from putting my hands in crisp packets.
Hope everyone's having a lovely evening..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Morning all
Maisie - how many syns do you count for the HB fish pie?
LL
I calculate that the prawns, white fish, smoked haddock, bay leaf, onion, water, peas are all free
3 tbps cornflour = 3 syns
2 slices wholemeal bread = 6 syns (or half a Heb if I haven't used any)
25g cheddar = 5 syns
400ml skimmed milk = 6 syns (or 1 count the cheese and milk as a HeA if I am not having them elsewhere)
Altogether its about 20 syns which works out as 5 each if you feed 4 but I tend to use my HeA for the cheese and milk and half my Heb for the bread crumbs and then it is only 1.5 syns for my portion (we scoff the lot too lol), which I don't think is too bad. Its is called quick cod and prawn gratin and the closest search I can find is this which they have made for 2. I also leave out the wine/vermouth.

Nice to meet you, Mountaingirl and debtfreeoneday. There’s always lots of room for new faces.
Good to see your losses, Dillon, Matron and Tete.
Congratulations, joee, on getting SOTW.
I hope you get your card back safely, Saver. It’s gut wrenching when you realise you’ve done that. Thank goodness I’m well past the stage of having to buy school uniforms!
Thanks, maman, I thought I had read that somewhere. To be on the safe side (the new me), I just had an extra hexb. I think I’m going to have to track down that hash recipe, it’s had so many great reviews here.
Aww, tweets, you know we love you, really!
Syns bank: 86
Tuesday’s syns: none so far! I’ve still to have my hexa too! I think I’ll have cheese and Kit Kat (5 ½ syns) later – odd combo I know, but I’ve had plenty of fruit already today.
Syns balance: 80 ½
Thursday
Breakfast: fruit salad, WW summer fruit yogurt
Lunch: roast beef sandwich with salad and radishes, fruit
Dinner: teriyaki salmon with noodles, hexa cheese & grapes
Snacks (choose from): choc digestive (4 syns), Del Monte raspberry smoothie lolly (4 syns), WW lemon slice (4 syns)
Still a happy bunny!Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Tesco and Sainsbury have 5% pork mince according to mysupermarket and although Tesco is usually cheaper it's on offer at Sainsbury's.
The Austrian hash was absolutely yummy. I made a few tweaks. As well as the chorizo I used cumin instead of caraway and a pinch of chilli powder and added sliced mushrooms. Then we had it with runner beans and cauliflower instead of fried eggs. As DH was late home I tipped it into a dish and reheated it in the oven, not before I'd had a good taster though. Will definitely be making it again and quite a cheap meal as I'm sure the tin of Ye Olde Oak ham came from £ shop.
Will add the pork mince to my Sainsbobs Friday shop maman - thanks.Morries had 7% fat today but I said no no no, we will wait til Friday and get the even healthier one
.
Your hash definitely sounds tasty.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Good morning, just popping in to report a 2lb loss please Shala. Great loss Tete :Tlushlifesaver wrote: »thanks maman, I've printed the recipe I'll need to buy the spices, wine vinegar and brown sugar. I might try it in the slow cooker too.
If this is for the Delia's Red Cabbage lush, we tried it last time in the SC and it was a definite hit. Will probably do it that way next time, depending on whether we are using the oven for anything else at the time. Enjoy.

B_e_g - my calculation is for the whole thing, which is supposed to serve 4 but DH and I eat it all between us. I have about 1/3rd so 4 syns is acceptable. I also sometimes count the cheese, milk and breadcrumbs as 1 HEX, however that is bending the rules!
We will definitely be having a fish pie by the weekend.I think the HB recipe will have a much higher syn value from what I can remember of the ingredients and in the description they used the word 'decadent' :rotfl:

Really pleased with that especially as I'd been away.
Today's menu
He a skimmed milk
He b 35g oats
B overnight oats with 0% activia and frozen cherries.
L SW quiche with SW chips and salad
D hunters chicken made with Sw BBQ sauce (5 for cheese), negotiators and green beans.
Bought some of the new chocolate orange hifi bars so might have one of those with bake off this evening (3)
Iceland range going to be expanding in October. More curries, soups and sauces so I believe. Also new muller multipack out all coffee ones, latte, cappuccino etc but not in sainsburys this morning might have to try asda.
Well done Matron - good loss especially as you have been away.Morries didn't have the coffee yoghurts either today. Wonder how they will work out synwise?
