Hi Shala please could I join the Christmas challenge with a target of 14lbs loss? I know I don't have a good track record of hitting my target and I've not been doing well this last challenge, but I live in hope!

I think you deserve to leave SW at home whilst you are on your mini cruise! BEG, you've done so well you definitely deserve a few days off when on holiday. It will be there waiting for you when you get back.

Left SW at home today lantanna :o. All I will say is M&S Toastie  Think I might have to use a bit of flexi synning ;).

I have also just realised that it was 2 years ago this week that I got my 4 stone cert and I have lost and kept off well above that for 2 years now :D That is good and something to be proud of especially after the year I have had.

This is a great achievement lantanna - I really believe that for some of us it is easier to shift the weight than maintaining the loss especially when life throws difficult situations your way. This is the part I am dreading quite honestly. Loving your positivity :T

I think how we approach Christmas can depend on where we are on the weightloss journey. If you've lost loads or at target then meals out or holidays are just a blip. If you've just started then it can be depressing if most of what you've lost gets wiped out. Personally I plan to enjoy celebration meals and parties, almost definitely go over syns but try to be 100% SW in between. I find Christmas itself easy with roast dinners, cold meats, pickles, SW chips etc it's the nibbles parties leading up that are a problem. Maybe on days in between I'll have some SP meals.

I totally agree with you maman with regard to how focused you can be at the start and the nearer you get to target it seems so much easier to relax. I can tell a huge difference between this time last year when I was hoping to get my 5st shiney for Christmas and this year when I am getting close to my 9st. Last year M&S Toasties definitely wouldn't have been seen on the menu

What lovely kind words Arkers - thank you and good luck with the Challenge. :T

    Well done losers :T

That toad in the hole sounds a good compromise shala. The syns in the batter are bound to be less than phoning for Dominos or whatever.

Shame it wasn't as nice as Domino's:(.. yorkshire pudding batter does not work well with wholemeal flour :( it was edible but I shan't be repeating that experiment!:rotfl: Enjoy the football x

Well done on keeping off that 4 stone lantanna and nearly 9 stone BEG :T:T:T brilliant! You lot are fantastic!

    Hi all,

Well done to all the losers and sts

-2.5 for me this week and for the next challenge I'll put 14lbs maybe a bit more realistic than my previous target! :p

In defence of the online SW, that's how I'm doing it and I quite like it and have just signed up for another 6 months. I like it, use the wight planner thingy and syns calculator daily and it does help keep me focused ( a fraction off 3 stone lost since mid August with another 3 stone at least to go) probably because even the thought of going to group makes an antisocial codger like me cringe...

    Lantanna

It's a week over 3 years since I lost my beloved rottie very suddenly and 2 years since my old girl died and I still miss them every day. The old girl was truly geriatric and ready to go IYSWIM so while sad, it wasn't a horrible shock. The big dog was young and fine one minute, PTS with in a couple of hours after a diagnosis of bone cancer but and the big but is that despite the heartbreak I think we're all glad that we had their love and company even if wasn't for as long as we would have wished.

ETA Ooooh thanks Shala, just seen the chart :) I wasn't as far off target as I thought! :)

thanks beanie :D. Possibly another stone might do it - I'm not too sure. Mainly getting 16s now with the very very occasional 14. Have decided to relax a bit more for special outings and the mini cruise we are doing and have Christmas Day, Boxing Day and maybe slightly on NY Day off plan then knuckle down and see where I want to be. :D

Tried a gorgeous jacket on today in House of Frazer (Kalico make I think) - oyster colour with really lovely fur collar - with money off it was still £160 . Best bit of all was when the assistant said that the 16 was too big and got me a 14. A friend I was with (wouldnt consider buying her clothes from a supermarket;)) said that I needed a smaller size because it was a good make. I promptly grabbed my Tu floral coat which was a 14 and showed it too her :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: This friend has no idea of the amount of weight I have lost - it's a game I play with her (quite childish I know but it amuses me :rotfl:).

We lost our lab x rottie 11 years ago and I still 'hear' him. Our loo is by the back door and Dylan used to sit by the back door but lump into it. I hear that 'lump' whenever I'm in the loo :p. We've had our Rhodesian x shepherd for 8 years now but he never sits in the kitchen and the only time he's by the back door is either waiting for food or to go out. He just thinks he's a lap dog but he soooooo isn't :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
