Hi all, managed a 3lb loss this week, and very happy with it too.
Meg, what an awful thing to come home to! Hope you're sorted soon.
I wish baby corn wasn't so expensive, it really has helped me stay off more calorific things this week.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
Weight loss journey started January 2015-32lbs0 -
Hello all
I haven't posted on here for about two weeks as one week I was on holiday and last week I was in hiding after a disappointing gain.
When I was on my holiday my intension was to maintain and I was so conscious of what I was eating and even did some body magic in the gym I got back last Tuesday and decided to weigh in at a different group the week on Wednesday thinking I had done ok I went and but on 2.5 I was gutted and very easily could of gone off the boil however I stuck with the plan and have been rewarded this week with a loss of 6.5 which got my three awards my club 10 my 2 stone and slimmer of the month I'm in shock but so glad I didn't give up my husband also got me a little chalkboard which you write on how much you loss this week how much to target and how much you have loss in total which was a big surprise as I mentioned weeks ago that I wanted it and he's waited till I got my club 10 and given it to me tonight on cloud nine tonight
SHALA
2.5 on last week (Even though I said I wasn't going to weigh in)
6.5 off this week

Evening,
Welcome tulip  well done on your half stone :T
Completely agree Lantanna, it's about educating for choice, glad your dad's ok. Eating the SW way, at least we're mostly eating meals from scratch and we know what's going into them so can all make that choice.. personally we stopped eating ham/sausages here a while back (the thought of them made me feel a bit queasy), bacon we have occassionally.. seems we were following a few of the guidelines without knowing.
I'd love to eat more fish and veggie meals (they're cheaper!:money:) but just can't find any recipes I likeblooming fussy eater!
TIE - hope you get an appointment, do you have a walk in centre around by you that you could use? Some of the minimins members started a new forum, it's called Food Fighters. A lot of the SW posts have been restarted there, but it's not a patch on the original (yet).
shala From what I've read over on the new forum, it was closed without warning. People got up one day to find it all locked down. Shame!
Thanks June, i'll go and check that out...
Right Chart time!!!
(Joint)SOTW* is.... :T:j:TBEANIE and HORSEYKAZ:T:j:T with a loss each of 3.5lbs!!

*SOTW is the person who has lost the most weight this week, but also had a loss or sts last week.
We also have a fair few target hitters this challenge - BEG, Counting Pennies, meg, dillon and horseykaz :T:T:T
And we've reached a total 8 stone loss :J:JMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
It's new target setting time for the Xmas challenge:T (remember we do still have a week left of the old one though!)
If you are just joining us you may not be aware of the bi-monthly challenge that we run to motivate ourselves which you are welcome to join. It isn't a competition, just a way of setting ourselves mini targets if your total loss seems a bit overwhelming.
The new challenge will run from week commencing the 1st November and finish on the 26th December - this gives us 8 weeks.
If you wish to join in with us then please post your target loss for the 8 weeks in red* or bold or massive or all of the above so that I can see it really easily!
I will post the results chart each week on a Tuesday showing the prior weeks losses and singling out the person who has lost the most so we can make a great big fuss over them :T
Any questions please let me know - it doesn't matter which day you get weighed just let me know your loss on the day you get weighed and i'll add it to the correct week (maybe, if I don't get confused!)
Thanking you...
BTW we still have a week left of the old challenge so still give me your results up to the 31st October

Shala, I heard the processed meat/cancer report on Radio Scotland. However, the information was clarified (I can’t remember the exact figures) – they were referring to an 18% increases in cancer in men aged 50. On elaboration, it seems that the risk goes from 0.6% to 0.8% (that’s where I can’t remember the exact figures). I think it said eating 50g (or was it 75g) processed meat every day. They said that in Scotland/UK the average is 17g per day. They also pointed out that sausages in the UK are NOT processed meat (I think bacon may be). Continental sausages are!
I’ll go for my eternal 1lb per week loss again, shala, so -8 lbs for me please for the Christmas countdown. Only lost 3 lbs over the 9 weeks for this challenge, but it’s better than a gain (just). Not having a good start – had the family tonight as usual, but we had a Hallowe’en feast as they won’t be here on the night. Had pasta Bolognese with added celery and carrots and cucumber & red pepper on the side (maggot infested corpse guts with bloody vampire fangs and sliced zombie eyeballs), which was good, followed by ghost blood and vampire eyeballs with worm topping for those that like it (ice cream, strawberries & choc sauce), but then there was popcorn (skeleton knuckles), and witches’ hats cakes and ….. you get the picture, sigh.
Haven’t come to terms with the change of routine chez greentiger yet. Also still visiting friend with Guillaine Barre syndrome in hospital in another town 2/3 evenings a week; delighted to say she took a few steps (with support, of course) yesterday, so absolutely delighted about that. However, another friend who lives in the nearest town to us, had a fall and damaged her ribs a couple of weeks ago. Then last week she got a sickness bug AND a chest infection; she has copd so doc was for sending her to hospital but she refused. She doesn’t have family nearby and she’s on her own, so I’ve been doing her shopping going there a couple of times a week too. That’s a long winded way to say, I’m skim reading the forum, so I’m sorry if I’ve missed saying “Hi” to newbies or congrats to losers or sending hugs to folks who need them.

Thanks for our lovely chart Shala and for organising the current challenge for us all and for all the work you will be puttting into our new one :A

Target for new challenge Shala - 7lb please. Might seem a bit of a cop out but for starters I know we are away at relatives next week where I will be surrounded by lovely non-SW friendly food and alcohol will no doubt be flowing. Then we have our mini cruise next month and I have decided SW will be staying home alone for a couple of days.
