    Evening everyone,

Today has ok food wise I think:
Breakfast - overnight oats topped with strawberries and raspberries
Lunch - butternut squash soup, carrot and cucumber sticks
Dinner - home made turkey burgers, salad and SW chips
    HEA - milk in coffee
Syns - velvet crunch crisps, two celebrations chocolates
They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

It's always better to be late in this life, than early in the next

    Following on from earlier post.........
I do want to get back on track, but my thinking at the moment is this:
my life at the moment is chaotic-the downstairs of the house is a tip,we are at work all day so nothing gets done.Kitchen was always tiny, but now, with boxes of stuff (and an under counter freezer!) standing in the middle of the floor, needing to be moved everytime we want to access a cupboard, then moved back, the fridge in the hall(!)........I don't feel like battling my fussy kids every mealtime.........In a couple of weeks,we will have to move to my inlaws while more of the house (kitchen /dining room) is demolished and house becomes uninhabitable. We expect to be there for a few months, and I know following SW will be very difficult.

So,with all this against me,what to do?
If anyone has any suggestions,I would love to hear them. For now my thinking is this:simply do the best I can,and accept that for a few months I will not always be able to follow SW properly.Really, you should see my kitchen at the moment :o:o.I think if I do abit of batch-cooking,make sure there is always something I can eat in the fridge, keep posting here, and hope for the best,I should be ok.
At the moment,I think just not eating nearly a packet of biscuits a day (amongst other naughty habits),will have the desired affect :rotfl::rotfl:.

    Today's menu:
Breakfast: 2 slices wholemeal toast (87g,so some syns-need to find out how many (HEB),1 teaspoon Flora light (can't remmeber syns!!),Marmite
    an apple,a mandarine

    Snack: a mandarine,an apple

Lunch: very rushed "salad": slices of beef, plum tomatoes, beetroot, carrot

Tea: butternut squash stew-y thing: butternut sqash, sweet potato, bacon, onion, tinned tomato, green beans, garlic, served with chicken fried in fry-light,and white rice

    Snack: 2 HiFi bars (HEB)

    Snack: an apple

Skimmed milk (not measured) used in cups of tea.

If anyone has any suggestions to help me,I would appreciate them x

EDIT: Just realised where I found the butternut squash recipe from.It was from SW site.Absolutely gorgeous.I don't use the dried rosemary, and I use 500ml stock (which reduces right down anyway)

  • I'm sure someone will be along soon with some tips Saver-upper but don't give up. Just being aware of what your eating can have a desirable affect on weight loss as your more concious of what your putting in your mouth.... If you know what I mean. We are all here to offer support, guidance and a friendly listening ear when the going gets tough! I put 4.5lb on this week. Once over this would have just caused me to give up, keep away from the scales and do more damage. Instead, I've got back on it today and drawn a line under it.

Speaking of which, I said I would update my syns here. Stuck to plan that I wrote out before, minus the fruit (just wasn't well enough to make the shops) but have only has 5.5 syns on a tunnocks tea cake. Didn't even enjoy it but needed something.

Off to bed now. Will do a food plan tomorrow. I'm needing some vitamin c i think to help fight this off so I must get to the shops for fruit as fruit juice is too high in syns for my liking.

    CP xx

Been really busy today including my off plan lunch (another could have been worse affair) but didn't want to read and run.

Apologies that I can't mention you by name but :T to all losers.
jps, I think we all tweak the plan to fit our lifestyles so don't apologise for that. I think that you've been losing without the one third Speed is probably because you're generally eating healthier and maybe fewer calories than before. Perhaps if/when it plateaus we can 'talk' again about following the plan more closely.

saverupper, I can sympathise massively with the kitchen difficulties. As you said, your gain isn't huge and maybe it's best that you just do what you can until the house is sorted. If you did want to follow the plan while the kitchen is upside down then it is possible. Mrs Ryan hasn't posted for a while but she was amazing at managing (mainly because of disability but limited facilities too) with little more than a microwave. I think what I'm saying is that even if you eat mainly ready meals, fruit, veg and yogurt it is possible to follow the plan. And there's always the old adage if you don't buy it you can't eat it. I know the SW ready meals from Iceland haven't had amazing reviews but even those with some microwaved veg might be worth a try. HTH a little. Keep posting an we'll do all we can.

I'm going to be 100% on plan tomorrow. Determined to go to WI on Thursday and find out what damage my holiday did.
  • Today's cake was big, jam in the middle with pink icing and sprinkles :/
Ive made a girly girl :(

Shala I need to update chart sorry!! Xx
  • Morning all, sorry I've been MIA, my dad was taken into hospital last Tues and is still there, I've been spending time rushing between there and work and bed basically. I've been as good as I can but not counting anything :o I stocked up on some of the Iceland SW meals which have been a godsend.

I did weigh last week but didn't get chance to post, can I please be added Shala?

Last week - 1 lb lost
    This week - 2.5lbs lost

Only 1.5lbs to go til my one stone!! :)

Hi everyone, just had a quick skim through yesterday's posts.

    Well done Orlao on SOTW:T.

I think Maman has summed up everything very well so won't comment further!

I had a lovely day in France yesterday with my sister and our meal out was fairly SW friendly - steak, frites & salad so a few syns for the chips and salad dressing and I also had a slice of french bread so probably about 6 syns; there was also a pepper sauce with the steak which was in a separate pot but it wasn't peppery enough for me so didn't bother with it - so saved a couple of syns there:T, and only had a small glass of wine with it.

Dinner was SW friendly - jacket potato; LO gammon & beans & another glass of wine. So all in all not too bad an offplan day!

Didn't drink much tea so didn't use all my HEA milk; HEB was a couple of Alpen Lights which I ate on the ferry instead of a pain raisin for breakfast (that's got to be a NSV, hasn't it LOL!)

Today will definitely be an on-plan day as need to rein it back in a bit if I'm to avoid a gain!

    Having a Green day today:

B - scrambled eggs on toast (HEB)
L - HM veg soup; slice WM bread (0.5 HEB)
D - "chicken" quorn sweet & sour with rice

HEA will be milk in tea throughout the day.

The other half HEB will be an Alpen Light with a cuppa later this evening.

    Hello, cuddlymarm.

Oh, lantanna, I feel for you. I’ve never had a coil, but I can still sympathise with you.

Hope your dad is on the mend, Tete.

Why are all the letter s (That’s the letter after t btw.) being replaced by ! ? Is there a naughty nuance now that I’m not aware of lol? Or is it just on my computer?

  • What a shock. I've +1 1/2lbs this morning. No real explanation for this apart from one off plan meal at a friends house over the weekend.
I'm getting back to basics, measuring He's and checking before I chew!!
    Plan today
    He a skimmed milk
He b toffee apple hifi bars
    B hifi ar and banana
L sw quiche, salad (3) dressing, mullerlight
D veg curry and rice (3) hifi bar, nectarine.
Hopefully I can pull that back before next week and the end of the challenge.
