Afternoon all, well WI was fab . Please Shala put me down for 2lb loss. Wahoo...only .5 for 1st half stone. Now to catch up on here. Does everyone/anyone else struggle to keep up? x

    Congratulations sue.:T Good Loss.

lush, I use Delia's braised red cabbage recipe.

    http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/type-of-dish/party-food/accompaniment/traditional-braised-red-cabbage-with-apples.html

It's incredibly easy once you've chopped everything up. I've almost always used eating apples (soft ones;)) or windfalls and substitute the sugar with sweetener. The butter/spread on top is optional. It makes loads and freezes really well.

Hope you have a good time at your caravan. It's a glorious day here, the best we've had in weeks and coincides with children going back to school. I do like the autumn but preferably after we've had a summer not instead of!

I've only got a small tin of ham in the cupboard so I'm adding a bit of chorizo to the Austrian hash, it should be fine as there's paprika in the recipe anyway.

4.5lbs gone this week - I'm thrilled :D. SP days seem to work for me :)

So far, that's 18lb in 6 weeks. Ok it can't keep going down at this rate (and I am starting from a horrifically high number) but my clothes are getting looser which is a huge incentive. I even had to find a belt this morning to keep my trousers up - nice change from having to open the button when I sat down to avoid being sliced in two!

    Todays menu

    Breakfast
Apple on the way to work
Porridge (HEA) and SS Milk (HEB)
    Strawberries

    Lunch
During the week I get fed at work - lucky me, but it's not a choice as such and is always delicious but often loaded with fat and sugar type things - so I do struggle here. Opting out of sitting down with everyone else would be awkward and asking for different food/bringing my own would cause attention and comments that I would prefer to avoid IYSWIM so...this is where hidden syns might get me.:o

    Jacket Potato, no butter
Picked the filling out of a chicken salad roll and discarded the roll so 2? syns for mayo
5 Lamb kofta balls 5 syns? Not lean lamb

    Dinner

Yesterday I swapped dinners - the HB beef smelled too good :) but as I'd no cornflour the gravy took a bit of boiling down, sorry reducing ;) Thanks for the recipe Lois.

    Today it's

    Gammon
    Egg
Butternut squash, courgettes, mushrooms, tomato potatoes - all roasted
    Corn on the cob
    Baked beans
    Sugar snap peas
    Pepsi Max

Gallons of tea as always. Maybe a banana and a DG Latte (2.5) later...

Thinking of your dinner tonight greentiger, DH said to me yesterday (about cauliflower cheese) that it's one of the tastiest meals I ever cook for him. Poor s*d, it was banned all the time I was getting to target and now we have it once in a blue moon. I really must allow for the syns and cook it more regularly.

Looking forward to the hash, just printed off recipe. Will have some veg with it as DH doesn't eat eggs.

My DH keeps fancying a nice creamy fish pie but the few times we've tried it SW-style, it just doesn't seem to have hit the spot (lacks richness/creaminess) but I suppose with these, along comes syns. M&S had fish pie on offer today (2 for £7) and I must admit I was tempted but decided to leave it for a time when I just hadn't had afternoon tea :o.

Hope you enjoy the hash maman and I'm sure it will be fine with chorizo.

We have had Delia's Red Cabbage several times now lush and it is lovely. ;)

Well done Sue and Orlao on fab losses :T Just out of interest Orlao, how long have you been doing SP for? I think it is intended to be used for odd weeks now and again or if things are starting to stick. They say this just to make sure you are getting all your nutrients I think.

  • Hello! Thanks for all your good wishes - new job was a bit dull today TBH! :o I guess work-shadowing is always going to be a bit mind-numbing, I'd rather just get on with it. My colleagues are all lovely though. Granny is home and doing great, says she feels like a different person :)

Some fantastic losses over the last couple of days - very well done!

    Today:
    HEXA - milk
    HEXB - 5 Brazil nuts
B - Coffee (1 Syn for sugar), Mullerlight, apple
D - Quinoa w/ roast veg: aubergine, cherry tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, courgette and pepper, plus a veg OXO.
Snack - raw carrot, coffee (2 Syns for sugar)
T - Pasta w/ bacon, aubergine, mushrooms, onion, cherry toms and tinned toms, 20g reduced fat cheddar (3 Syns)
Coffee (1 Syn for sugar), Freddo (5 Syns)
    TOTAL SYNS: 12

I really enjoyed that melty cheese on my pasta!! :D
    Weightloss: 14.5/65lb
  • I'm back :) I lost the thread for a while.

Just a quick question have I missed a chart with last weeks losses on?

    Today I've had
    Breakfast - a banana
Lunch - wholemeal roll with cheese, ham and stacks of tomato (hex2)
Dinner - campfire stew with new pots

A bit light on so foods but not too bad

    Hi b_e_g

Just every few days. I had a week where I would have sworn that I'd been as good as gold but put 1.5lbs on! Of course, once I went back and looked properly I'd been anything but:o so I did SP for a week to try and get back on track. I find SP quite easy on days that I'm home but struggle and EE on days that I'm out. I couldn't live without rice, pasta and spuds for long...

I cannot survive with the carbs orlao. :D I usually try to just watch the size of my portions of carbs and if I have a good selection of veggies I try to make sure that there are more of the speed type if possible without strictly sticking to SP if that makes sense. :D

  • Thnks for the cheering on ladies. I am well impressed with losses some are having.Looks like we a challenge on!
  • Hello, can I join you here and sign up for the challenge please?
I am signed up on slimming world online and regularly check in but over the summer holidays it has gone to pot and I have put on quite a few pounds! I don't have a group here to go to and feel a bit alone sometimes.
Everything is almost back to normal after the hols although I am away for the whole week next week settling my son into university (and having a bit of a city break!).
So it will be time then to focus on getting back on track and shifting the weight - can I sign up for 9 pounds please? Realistically I won't post much next week but knowing I have somewhere to come back to will focus me. Thanks
    Seriously money saving
