Morning all :) It's lovely here today, lots of blue sky and sunshine but with a cool wind.

Just back from the hairdresser so that should help with the WI this week! :D

Left DH to man the shop on his own and he's only had 4 customers in my absence so I didn't need to worry about him being rushed off his feet.

There I was celebrating our new hours and getting excited about closing at lunchtime today and being able to go out together and not care about what time to come back, and what happens? DH goes and bursts my balloon by reminding me that it's the Warden's day off today so we need to be on site from 5.30pm in case of emergencies. Ah well.... we can go to the cinema tomorrow.

I didn't realise BNS was seasonal - I thought it was available all year round! I love it, especially in soup, but it does take ages to peel and prepare. It's good roasted too.

    Have a good day everyone.

I might count my speeds this week-hope maman isn't on holidays this week-I am hoping to impress :D

    I'm going nowhere!!:rotfl:

Thinking of your dinner tonight greentiger, DH said to me yesterday (about cauliflower cheese) that it's one of the tastiest meals I ever cook for him. Poor s*d, it was banned all the time I was getting to target and now we have it once in a blue moon. I really must allow for the syns and cook it more regularly.

Looking forward to the hash, just printed off recipe. Will have some veg with it as DH doesn't eat eggs.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk
    L: ham & LO veg
D: Austrian Hash with green beans
Syns: scrape of spread, HP sauce

Lois, think BNS is like most things available all year round from different countries etc but has a season as such when they are more bountiful and therefore cheaper.

I'm waddling about like I'm 6 months pregnant today. The joys of being a woman!

Cauliflower Cheese is one of my favourites too Maman, though it probably only happens once a year now when someone else cooks it for me and its there. Christmas in fact.

Back from Sainsburys with some BNS to make some BNS Soup with Chilli (try to fire up my metabolism) and some fresh ones need using. Might throw a bit of Chorizo in too to use it up.

lush, I'd ignore that apple. You aren't eating excessive amounts and you can get any spoiled fibre elsewhere. It's hardly worth bothering with. I'm going to make more braised red cabbage for the freezer (one of Aldi Super 6) and there's apple in that but I'm not counting it. By the time it's spread between the portions it's negligible.

Thanks maman, they were rather nice actually and I'll definitely make the recipe again although I'll probably put half as much dried mixed herbs in next time! Also I baked them, not sure if I would in fact be better frying them in just a little frylight. The original recipe says to fry and baking them made the outside just a bit too hard where as frying them may mean that doesn't happen as they'd cook quicker. we will see...

I know you have shared it before but could you possibly link me to the braised red cabbage recipe. I think me, mum and dad would really like that in the colder months :)

Lush - Giant M&MS? Am I missing something here?
They are giant per se, but probably 2/3 times larger than normal m&ms, I got them as they are on offer in ASDA at the moment

I've been absent over the weekend; Saturday I can't seem to remember what I ate other than the chicken and apple balls! My memory isn't too great Sunday took wonder bairn to her first food festival...we'll not talk about it as more than enough syns were had followed by a quarter of a pizza for my tea! Yesterday: breakfast; porridge (HeB) lunch; bf took us out so I could treat myself to a new handbag and spend a birthday gift voucher so had a KFC tea; I couldn't muster any hunger so I had two chocolate coated rice cakes (8syn)

    Today:
breakfast: porridge (HeB) made with milk (from HeA)
lunch: jacket potato with baked beans, lettuce, cherry toms, cucumber and green pepper. 3 syns worth of salad cream
snack: 2 choc topped rice cakes (8 syn)
tea: not too sure what I will have yet - bf is having ham/cheesewich things with chips, wonder bairn will have chicken nuggets I think with veggies and beans. I might do myself a nice fridge bottom omelette (ham, cherry tomatoes, green/red pepper, mushroom) and have that with some lettuce and cucumber.
Will chop up the melon I got reduced on Friday today and have that for evening snacking long as it's still ok to eat!

Realised I haven't decided on a weigh day - I will choose Wednesday. Sneak on the scales before my shower this morning showed a small loss but we shall see in the morning. Start weight was 12st 7lb so long as the numbers go down I don't mind :)

We are off to the caravan in a couple of weeks for a whole week. I am hoping it stays reasonably dry so we can walk places but I will ensure we eat well this time. On a serious money saving binge so won't be allowing 4/5 meals out plus treats/snacks etc!

The weather is really turning here, wet and wild weekend before the one just gone, the week wasn't too bad and then wet yesterday and rather cold last night. I love the change in the weather - bring on the warm and comforting casseroles/pies etc. I always find it easier to lose weight in the winter for some reason. Plus it's my favourite season and I can't wait for pumpkins etc to be appearing all over the place!
