Here's the recipe which was posted by a SW consultant years ago (2010 I think), at the time it got renamed Dynarod Soup! But be warned it makes a huge amount of soup and you need a very large saucepan.

Speed food Soup AKA - Dyno rod Soup
(syn free on Green and EE)

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs
Water (enough to cover all ingredients)
Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

    Freezes well and tastes great!

(Rechristened Dyno-Rod soup for it's.......shall we say.....cleansing properties

You can of course add any Speed foods that you like, it doesn't have to be those included in the recipe.

Hi all, another quickie visit but happy to say I've lost 2.5 lbs this week - that's a big relief after being stuck for a bit.

Thanks again for the thread and charts!

Back on here again and thinking of giving SW another go. I lost nearly 2 stones a couple of years ago but it's all back on again. I was talking to a guy who did SW and lost over 7 stones and then he stopped going and the weeks went into months and he had 10 months away and put on 9 stones!!!

Gradually, gradually it creeps back on if you take your eye off the ball. I don't eat mountains of food and I still cook almost totally SW but it's little things like bits of cheese, a few crackers, creamy yoghourt, real cream on fruit etc that sneak back into your diet.

Hi Pennylane, you're so right. Eek, 9 stones in 10 months is scary. Even more so because I could probably do that if I tried!

For me it's definitely a lifetime thing now - maybe I will be able to stop going to group at some point but I don't think I will ever be able to not watch what I eat on a regular basis again.

It is incredibly easy to gain weight if you take your eye off the ball I agree. Before my wedding I panicked and crash dieted, I lost two stone but after the wedding went to eating "normally" and gained most of it back within months - that was almost 3 years ago and I'm still 20lb heavier than I was on my wedding day.

I'm aiming to lose 2.5 stone using SW now and know that I will have to follow the plan to the letter for it to work - it scares me at times but the I think about what I can eat on the plan and realise it just takes a little planning

    Evening all,

I think I've done ok today, would appreciate any feedback though if I have gone off track in any way

Breakfast - overnight oats with vanilla mullerlight and tonnes of mixed fruit (strawberries, red currents, blackberries, raspberries)
Lunch - salad with boiled potatoes, lettuce, yellow pepper, cucumber, tomato, chicken, extra light mayo
Dinner - courgette spaghetti from the latest SW magazine - I left out the chilli and added mushrooms to it
Syns - Parmesan in dinner, mayo with lunch, 2 Cadbury fingers and a 2 finger kit Kat
Also had milk in coffee throughout the day

Looks pretty good with plenty of Speed foods.

  • evening all,

weekend at my parents was a bit hit and miss. today more miss but mostly due to snacking rather than eating proper meals in between jobs and errands.

    Plan of action for tomorrow:
breakfast: porridge (HeB plus part HeA) banana
lunch: Some soup. I got a pot of fresh Tomato and Basil soup from morrisons (reduced to 49p and I want the empty pot!) Looking at various syns pages I think it will be about 5 for half the pot. Satsuma, kiwi and nectarine
tea: bf's mum is cooking as I'm going to hers to sort out some sewing stuff with her :) will have to flex it in.

I have a drs appointment in the morning re my tablets. I haven't been able to lose anything since I changed to this brand plus I feel my mood is a lot lower and some other stuff so I'm basically going to beg to go back on the other brand :/
