    Hi Claire

I like the idea too. I am now constantly looking for odd bits of money (how sad) :rotfl:

I am going to see just how much I can pay off by doing this.

I have also just received an email from satsuma loans apparently I can borrow £1000 at 845% interest :rotfl:

let me think about that eeeeerrrrmmmm how about NO

    Good luck all

    Good afternoon all

    Quick update for today

Well I went to sleep thinking about money, woke up thinking about money. Was a little fed up this morning thinking this is one hell of a journey I have, even began to question whether I will make it to the finish line :(

However, I have been doing lots more reading on here and have sat down (again) with pen, paper, calculator and coffee. Then more coffee oh and a another coffee for luck.

I have written myself up a weekly budget as OH gets paid weekly. This includes
    1. shopping - half what I would normally spend
    2. Gas - prepayment meter
    3. Electric - prepayment meter
    4. TV licence - we pay weekly its easier
    5. petrol
    6. Money to go to my snowball account - this is the little extra I have planned for my snowball calculator payments
    7. Wait for it, drum roll please - I have even budgeted a little weekly for an emergency fund :j Its not much but will build it up slowly

Weekly spends done for this week, :j even managed to spend very little this morning on a few essentials for my work lunches next week.

I get paid monthly and this covers all Direct debits and my main snowball payments

I have checked bank accounts and am on track for my September snowball payments - CC payments plus the extra I have added.

I cannot actually wait for Septembers wages so I can start snowballing

As it stands at the moment we are managing to pay all of our bills etc so we need to be so disciplined with this. I don't want to get to the point where we cannot pay.

I now feel a lot more positive again :) This site is a God send. The diaries and posts about people who are now debt free is so inspiring. It is proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel :)

Off to walk the dog now to burn some energy as I have overdosed on coffee this morning :rotfl:

Good luck all and have a good debt busting day

Thank you lincs and thank you sambuca

It all seems so easy on paper though. I need to really get my teeth in to it. Once I pay my first snowball payment I think it will spur me on to carry on fighting.

Cant seem to focus on anything other than money at the moment . But at least its my money I'm focused on and not someone elses for a change :rotfl:

OH is fully aware of our problems but seems to think that if there is money in the bank its ours to spend.

He knows exactly how much we need to service our debts but he is a lot less disciplined than myself.

He is more than happy to let me organise our debt busting (typical of him) so I think I may have to leave minimal amount in the main account in case he feels the urge to draw some out. Therefore he wont be able to overdo it. (he can have pocket money and like it :rotfl: If he misbehaves it will be forfeited) ;)

I have a very basic account that I am going to use to keep the money I need for my debt busting plan. I can transfer money between accounts as and when necessary.

My little emergency fund is going into my online savings account so can transfer between that as well. :)

Good luck all and have a good weekend.

You do sound like you are really on the ball. Good on you. Don't look at the big figure overall. Set goals for yourself and stick to them. Maybe that's a good motivating tool for your OH too? Could you tell him week by week what the goal is for discretionary spending? Maybe he is a person who feels overwhelmed with too much detail at once. So you could try drip feeding him to keep him on board and in the loop.

    Thank you Bob

I am going to look at setting myself small targets and going on from there once I have reached it. I had a chat with OH last and he agreed that he does waste money,(although we have all been guilty of that at times). and
He says he will be supporting me a bit more in this. (I need all the help i can get)

Still feeling positive at the moment. Need to keep it up

    Goog luck and thank you
