It's just a LCI. 440i replaces the 435i.
Also forged alloy wheels for higher strength and lower weight. Don't recall any Focus or Astra having forged alloy wheels
Cant seem to see a 'new 440i' on any of the German, US or UK BMW sites. An LCI this close to the start of production would be very unusual to do for BMW - none of the major sources have info on such a move. No doubt they will update the name nomeculture in due course but this is normally about 4 years after production for the lci.
Same as above - cant seem to find any info from BMW on a 350i?
Given that neither vehicle seems to exists at the moment, it is fairly hard for people to give an opinion.0 -
I bet Neil Darkmatter Woo is the first to drive this well balance rear wheel drive car. On the way to its first service he will rev it to the max and bully his way through traffic.0

Although not on the same power level, I'm quite a fan of the new Lexus IS250. It's shaped very well and I expect the soon to be released coupe/convertible a real looker!
Didn't you buy one of them?
Anyway, BMW 440i, will be like any other BMW - technically pretty good, boring to be in, poor ride, and will prevent you getting let out of any junctions.0 -

I'm talking about the latest generation Lexus IS.
Yeah it will be like any other BMW, sharp handling dynamics that bests the competition, powerful engine (legendary inline 6) with RWD, quality interior superior to any focus or Astra, good looking car, forged alloy wheels...I could go on.
Have you ever gone underneath a BMW? Multi link independent suspension. What does an Astra use? A torsional bar? LOL0 -
Oh and if you opt for the auto, a lightening fast 8 speed sport gearbox.
if you want you could also opt for the double clutch transmission.
What automatic gearbox does the Astra or Focus use?0 -

Good point. 3 series is very much in the rep / middle manager range too.I'm talking about the latest generation Lexus IS.Yeah it will be like any other BMW, sharp handling dynamics that bests the competition
Rough ride, dull interior, poor space, makes you look like a !!!!!!. They aren't the most popular repmobile in the UK because they are good; they are the most popular repmobile because of badge snobbery and the low BIK due to the emissions.
Sure they handle well enough (in the correct set-up) and are relatively good on fuel, but they aren't any better than the competition. Interesting that you're trying to compare it to an Astra. Compare it to an XF, and wonder why there were so many 5-series trade-ins in Jaguar forecourts up and down the country.0 -

You SO remind me of one of the sales reps I used to work with. When he got 'his first BMW' he was so, so very proud. Every other sentence he kept trying to drop in the word 'Double VANOS', even though he clearly had absolutely no grasp of the basic workings internal combustion engine, let alone thermodynamics or the Otto cycle. He was just a sales rep, although he did once claim he got his degree from the 'university of life'...
Still, the funniest thing was - one of the first things he did was to put his 'perfectly balanced' RWD 'driving machine' into a field, via ditch, terminally. Thankfully his sales performance was little better than his driving, and he left the employment of the company soon after, and we didn't have to listen to why his car was so brilliant any more!0 -

So not one that you bought?
...have you ever been in a BMW?

Quite offensive I have a BMW and am certainly not a !!!!!! as you have put it, I would imagine you are the type of individual who keys peoples cars when you feel envious them.0 -

The XF is built for British roads not Bayern ones which are constructed differently. Grace, pace and space...
(As a footnote, I understand from reading forums that they also have brakes fitted to all four corners, for improved brakiness)0
