I'm not basing it on ignorance. If your gonna say you would talk to your suppliers. Look at your balance and talk too them BEFORE they take the Direct Debit and then you wont be charged (so long as they agree and you have a good standing with them).

    Or simply pay manually.
you personally need to take your head out of the sand and read what I am posting.

Well if you can't remember what you have spent and are not 'anal' enough to look after yerself, I hope you have not reclaimed charges.

Surely there is nothing wrong in claiming unfair charges once. Your long and detailed posts on this subject seem to me that you do not have a problem with people who claim once. . Your problem seems to be people that reclaim more than once. You seem to be contradicting yourself here. What is the problem with people claiming once. I have claimed once (On hold because of the court case). I will not claim again as i have not incurred any charges since as i run my account to order now. There is nothing wrong in someone claiming against bank charges the once is there ??????

Hi. I think we should leave this debate to the many threads out there regarding the subject. Lets try to get back to jo rays original point. Forgive me i am not being rude but as this was a thread from the OP we should let it continue.

I know where to come for a debate on the above mentioned subject and i may pop in there to catch up with you all. Thanks

ok graham, point taken you pay your own stuff, but even you must admit the outgoings of 1 are atleast half the task of your average familys outgoings.

Your outgoings Jo are down to you...not the bank...if your outgoings are more than your incomings then you need to take a serious approach. I am no angel when it comes to charges, but I ages ago cancelled all direct debits where i could, I would rather forfeit £5 - 6 for not paying by DD than risk a £30 charge.

No not really. I presume you pay all the same bills to run your household as I do, with maybe a couple more personal items. Your personal items are nothing to do with me and something you chose.

I'd say it's a lot easier. 2 people, 2 wages for one home.
