No, sarcasm maybe, he didn't call you thick, nobody has. I think he was trying to get across to you as simply as possible that you need to do your sums as far as your finances go and not rely minute to minute, day to day on the Bank doing that for you.
You've got to remember that shops are customers of the Banks too & have as much rights (more in the eyes of Banks if your name is Asda or Tesco!) as you and I. If their system is to update at the end of the day or on the Monday after a weekend I don't see why they should be compelled to change. I'm sure there's many different systems in shops & it may be that there are some that are older & not capable of doing the work 'instantly' as you require, perhaps that will change in the future. In the meantime you need to find a system that works for you. I know that means more work keeping track of your finances, but to be honest it's what's most of us do & I'd rather rely on me getting it right than the Bank. That's not fair on my Bank....any discrepencies are usually down to me!...but it's useful to crosscheck!
There's a lot of genuine people posted on this thread (including those with whom you disagree) who have offered real solid advice that you should take on board.0 -
sarcasm you may call it, but what it amounts too, is all the same, yes in my
opinion they were trying to say i am stupid.
in your opinion it's not worth pursuing this, all i know is this is how most of us got charged,i know their is no reason for them not to be able to realistically do this,as the system is their already.and it will make life easier for all, if it does become enforced to earmark all transactions in shops, can't see any bad side to standing up for myself. can't see any reason anyone would be opposed to the idea, unless.......they worked for a bank.0
