I think I must have talked to the same man yesterday, it was quite obvious from the very beginning of the call he wasn’t bothered if I renewed with Plusnet or went elsewhere, I too quoted some of the cheaper deals available from other suppliers and the response was along the lines of ’Well if you want to leave Plusnet I can’t stop you’.
I personally think that when Plusnet offer the massive new customer only cash back deals (£70 at the moment) it alienates existing customers because they can’t get anywhere near that discount on their contract at renewal and it also must be so demoralising for their staff because they know that one of the first questions an existing customers will ask is ‘Why can’t I have £70 cash back when I renew my contract’.
Anyway what to do now, Post Office, John Lewis, SSE, Shell, Now, Directsave, all cheaper than Plusnet because I will be a 'new customer', who to choose?
The stupid thing is I'll move back again in 12 or 18 months so it will not only cost the discount but a new router as well!
I'm not quite at the point of moving yet so will try again when I have 2 or 3 weeks left on my contract.0 -
Rang back today, totally different experience. Upgraded to 66 - 80mb for £1 month extra (matched vodaphone price). So now paying £23 month for bb and phone line. Don’t need phone package as we use our mobiles. :j0

I rang them on Friday. The guy was very pleasant but said they wouldn't be able to match the Voda £23, £100 gift card and Echo device, (his best offer was £27), so I will be paying the equivalent of £17.44 and getting the Echo Dot, so Vodafone it is.This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Where did you see the £100 gift card?0 -

If you went through MSE broadband choices, or directly through broadbandchoices.co.uk they were offering a £100 gift card in addition to the Echo device. Offer has now ended. This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Has anyone had and haggling success with plusnet recently my contract is up next month.
happy to say with them. Got standard fibre paying £21 as they matched vodaphone offer last year. Now offering £22.99 for 18months which is not bad as their normal renew offers are normally sky high.
just wondered if anyone has been haggling with them
thanks0 -

Plusnet Unlimited fibre broadband service Line rental Plusnet Unlimited UK & Mobile Call plan Total £25 per month on a new 12 month contract DEAL MATCH NOW TV
“Fibre” router has already arrived. Can’t do LRS with this deal, so I’ll get the extra pennies from the 123 Cashback.
They have also refunded the small overcharge as it seems their billing couldn’t cope with the recent prices rises not being applicable to the Now TV match.1 -

Called plusnet retentions, after being with them since 2004 mentioned that i was thinking of signing upto Now Broadband, and they just said that the notice period is 14 days and after that the Now broadband service will be live and then its just a case of unplugging the plusnet router and plugging in the Now Broadband router, at which point the call endedDoesnt look like plusnet intend to retain customers at the moment1
