We have been with plusnet for more than 6 years, we found out from martins page that they are putting the prices up, it would have been nice if they informed us of this, so my hubby called them and asked various question on getting any deals from them, all we got is no because we have 16 months left of our contract, so we are abit stumped as to what or if we can get anything, if we can safe a little something on bills woud be very helpfull.
would apprecicate any feed back on this matter. thank you.:eek::(0 -

You should have received an e-mail from them about the price increases. If you didn't, complain on their forum, you'll get a better response there.
If you did receive the e-mail, your post hints that you didn't though, you have 30 days from it's receipt to cancel and go elsewhere. Even with 16 months of your minimum term remaining.0 -
Thk you so much for this information, and yes as i said they did not inform us of any changes, and when we spoke to them, quite rude and not bothered.:(0

Just got off the phone to Plusnet as out of contract. Went through to cancellations and just said that my contract had ended and was wondering if they had any special offers. They noted that I'd paid line rental up front last year and asked if I would be happy to do that again. I said yes and they offered me free phone and broadband for 12 months. So ended up getting in before the price rise and paid £155.88 up front with nothing to pay each month apart from any call charges.
Really pleased with this result particularly as I didn't have to threaten to leave, start negotiating etc and take ages to sort it out! Always worth a call.0 -
We've been happy with plusnet service which we've had for 12 months. Our £2.50 a month deal finishes in a few days, so I phoned to ask if they would match talk talks current offer of 18 months free broadband. They agreed to price match straight away.
Thanks MSE for the haggling tips.0 -
Based on my recent experience with their retentions team, Plusnet are now looking for customers to renew for 24 months (usual contract term is 18 months). Actually not a problem for me, as Plusnet were open to offering permanent discounts across the full contract term.
In my case, I decided to upgrade to Plusnet TV with BT Sports (which I wanted to do anyway), and used a BT deal on Moneysupermarket with £175 prepaid Mastercard and vouchers as leverage. I agreed a £10 per month discount across the contract term, with installation fee for the Youview+ box waived and upgraded router posted out to me. The deal I accepted means I’ll pay slightly more than potentially I might have from BT if fully using its Mastercard and vouchers. But I was happy to pay more for Plusnet’s superior customer service and to avoid the hassle of using BT’s offerings.
So, not the biggest discount possible. But I’m happy that the deal I’ve got meets what’s important to me.0
