I am coming to the end of my contract with plusnet was paying £21 but now they want 26 and won’t budge should I go with it? It made no difference quoting that Nowbroadband and the Post Office are doing £21 a month including anytime calls
Go through quidco cashback to get now broadband. Was £90 for fibre connection yesterday when i looked.0 -
I pay line rental in advance for the a year so works out £18.32 a month. If you pay monthly, it's £19.99 line rental.
My deal was for normal fibre. Essentially, no cost for the fibre broadband, just paying line rental costs, as above.
I know I could have got this cheaper, i.e. post office fibre is the cheapest fibre at the moment with the £65 voucher offer (making it £15.49 a month), but have a really good deal for four mobile sims with BT that can't be beaten elsewhere, so would be losing money by swapping providers.
That's not bad at all, paying less than £3 a month extra to have BT over the PO's customer service is worth it by itself let alone a much better router0 -
Just renewed my contract with nowtv broadband, currently paying £30 a month for super fibre, line rental and anytime calls, was due to go up to £43.99 but a very quick call has it now set for another year at £27.99 for the same services. Customer services were extremely helpful and polite and it was all done within a few minutes and no haggling on my behalf as I’m happy with what they offered.0

With my VM BB coming to an end in less than a month called them to see what they can offer and the guy on the phone from an off shore call center was adamant that the best he could do was £50 for a 100 MB line when I am paying 27 currently! asked him to put me through to retention team and spoke to a nice Scottish lady who managed to keep me at 27 for the next 18 months rather than 12 months which is advertised for new customers would have liked it to reduce a bit but nevertheless still happy for now I think!

Just saved myself a £4 a month increase with Plusnet and got my current deal extended for another 18 months, at the second time of asking.
I recommend not taking a first refusal lying down, and using a different phone number to the one included in the renewal email from Plusnet. I looked up the Leaving Plusnet help pages on their website and used the number on there instead.0 -

I eventually managed to get them down by £4 after asking 3 times and as you say using a different phone number and phoning mid morning 😊0 -
I have been with VM for many years (since OneTel and ntlworld). I am very happy with their service, which always delivers the speeds advertised. So I am reluctant to change to another provider, especially as I don't have an active BT line to my house. I currently have M50 with weekend calls and no TV package. Having finished my Line Rental Saver and 12 month contract (because of a previous deal) my monthly cost was going up to £44.50. I rang VM this afternoon and said I was considering leaving because their price was too much and I could get a better deal elsewhere (I even mentioned VM's current offer of £27 for M100 for new users). The nice Scottish lady said that all customers would have received a special deal on joining VM, so she couldn't offer that. When I pointed out I had been a customer since before VM existed and so had never had a special deal she immediately offered me a 12 month contract for £27 on my existing terms. That's a reduction of 40% on what I was going to have to pay so I am well pleased. :j0

You can't haggle with Virgin broadband Any discounts ending in the next few mew months will end because as soon as you tell them what you want renew them they say that department is closed. they have you over a barrel as you can't leave.. They are a disgrace, they should let you keep your discounts until after the get their offices back running normal.GONE ENGLAND0

Need the better broadband so struggling to use other providers as leverage for leaving. You are limited without possible further expense, because Virgin is Fibre and does not allow other providers to use their linesYou therefore will need a new Open Reach provided line from whoever you choose to go with.Depending on your OR landline this may involve extra costs and possible loss of your number, or in worst case inability to provide a line at allHave a read though other threads on Virgin here to see what can happen, sometime it's better the Devil you know but forewarned etc
