Yes they would and the proximity of your vehicle to the yellow lines would clearly show movement.

    Problem solved. No fine. Win.

So you enter the box with your exit blocked. You realise, and crawl forward. How far do you crawl? All the way out of the box? You can't, remember. Your exit's blocked... So you're hoping the exit clears before you get to it.

Let's say the box is 10m long. At 1mph (good luck with that, without stopping), that's only going to take you 20 seconds to cross completely, from front bumper entering to back bumper exiting.

I'm sure he'll worry about it if that hypothetical possibility ever becomes a reality and he gets caught. :D

I'm not planning on doing this as a hobby from now on. I'm still going to treat it as I did before.

All I'm saying is if you do enter a yellow box, you may as well keep moving as slow as possible in the hope that the exit does clear.

    ...in the next ten seconds...

Would they not need to prove that I wasn't moving? Oh dear. I think I've started something.

I normally treat a yellow box as do not enter unless you are 100% sure you can get out of the other end. Just the very few occasions when you don't realise.

There's a rounderbout near me with a huge box marking on it - in fact its so big that you can't even see the exit when on the inside lane because it is obscured by the roundabout itself. Not sure about the legality of that setup but people stop in it all the time

What happened to the other 10 seconds?

Apart from not needing the entire car to be stationary in the box, I presume you weren't planning on actually ramming the car blocking your exit?

TBH as I said before I'm not planning on entering the box in the first place.

But given the choice between a fine or crawling forward, I'd crawl forward thanks.

Not sure if anyone saw the parking programme on BBC1 last night. Quite surprised how many people were being stopped for unpaid fines and threat of car being taken to pay them yet seemed surprised that they would have to pay up.

As per OP, sort it at the appeal stage, don't put your head in the sand and ignore it or this will happen.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
