  • Thanks Tink :) I'm trying to use my phone as well so that I am reminded when I pick it up, I will find a way of combining things.

Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit brighter. Also a thought, have you ever tried yoga? It's very good for breath work.

  • Today has been a good day, slow but good. Woke up this morning at half seven, had a drink and fell back to sleep until eleven:eek: But I feel so much better for it. We have been very productive too. House cleaned and another bag ready for the charity shop. They are going to do really well out of me in the next coming weeks. Where does it all come from?? I thought I had done a good job when we moved in and we have only been here nine months. It's mostly clothes that I kept hanging onto and I still haven't worn them so they can go. I've even sorted out all my make up and thrown things away that I haven't used for a long time. DD has dyed my hair for me and although it is a bit darker than what a normally do, I wanted a change.

My peak flow has been at its highest today which is great and I don't think I have felt breathless once.

Five days to London and I am hoping to have four NSD's before then as I don't have anything I need to buy and our lunches are already in the fridge ready. No rushing in the morning being angry with myself for not doing them the night before.

I have quite a lot of work to do this week and am only in three days, college on Tuesday. Really looking forward to it as I know I will be on the right course.

Ok, I'm off to start this bullet journal thread. Hope its useful.

Have been away in Liverpool for a few days with family so just catching up on your diary Tink. So sorry that the test was so upsetting for you, but really pleased that your readings are improving and you feel better.

I bet you and DD can't wait for your trip, you'll have a whale of a time, can't wait to hear all about it :)

  • Wow, you are so 'on it' Tink, despite your health concerns. A great idea to do a run of NSDs. I'm part of the NSD challenge November and doing ok, but the real benefit is doing a string of NSDs in a row. Glad you are feeling and sleeping better.

Off to check out the bullet journal diary. Thanks for starting it x

  • Hi everyone. Rosa, I hadn't thought about Yoga, DD and I were going to try Pilates next year as she has a few problems at the moment with her back, would this help too? Kirsty, yes, really excited about the trip thanks and sorry to hear you and OH have been unwell. DIA, thank you. NSD number one under the belt, so a quarter of the way there.

Another positive day today, even though I had some sad news that more than likely my friend won't be coming on our trip with us due to personal problems. I was just in a bit of a whirl about it as I haven't been to London and I guess I felt 'safer' with having another adult with us. I'm a big girl, I can do this lol. And breath.

Went to the asthma clinic tonight and although she didn't do the test again, she looked at the log she had me keep and is happy with how that is progressing. She has given me three more days of steroids and then next Monday I will have the test again. She now even thinks that it could just be asthma and not COPD so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and not going to worry about it until next week.

I'm also absolutely made up with how well the bullet journal thread has started. I'm hoping that it will give others inspiration to get organised.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, must admit it has poured down here all day but at least I was in work lol.

  • Well had a great day at college, got there in plenty of time and they even let us out at 3pm. Was back on the train at 3.30pm and home for 4pm but I am totally shattered lol. The college is in a nearby city and as I don't like driving too far I had budgeted for the train so I'm happy to report another NSD. You wouldn't (or maybe you would) believe how hard it was to walk past all the lovely shops dressed for christmas. I just kept thinking London will look better, so even thought it was hard, I was very good. That's 2 NSD's down and 2 to go.

Weekend is all planned out thanks to some brilliant help and I don't think we will waste a minute. I can't believe it is only two more days before we go.

Then once we get back time to get cracking on getting in my mums. I'm really hoping we can get the dogs sorted for christmas as we used to stay there on christmas eve and I loved doing that. If they do behave I think we will stay christmas night as well and then start the moving process. I don't want it to be as rushed as this year and I have to give a months notice anyway. Sooner we are there, the sooner I can get to grips with the debt.

    Take care all.

  • Hello Lovelies. Can't believe my baby girl is now 16 :eek:. Had an absolutely fab time in London, but my isn't everything fast paced. Unfortunately we didn't manage to do everything we wanted but we still had the best time ever (and thank you again MT for your invaluable information, it was a godsend). We got there later than expected on Friday due to the train being delayed half way there (problem with the track) so by the time we got to the station, walked 15 minutes to the hotel then went and got something to eat we hit the sack, 9pm (never heard of :rotfl:).

Saturday up early and caught the tube to Madame Tussaud's, we had to queue for two hours but it was so worth it, DD took loads of pictures. Then we headed off to Oxford Street.:eek: never seen anything like it oop North lol. It was a sight to see, so many people, buses and taxis. And the Christmas lights!! Everywhere!! I must admit I loved the atmosphere but I didn't enjoy the shopping as much as I thought I would. The shops were packed and very hot with heating blowing from everywhere. We were dressed for winter so were overheating and feeling to the point of passing out lol, but it was all part of the experience. By this time we were beat and so we headed back to the hotel. The guys on reception were amazing and so was the hotel. Helped us to arrange a take away which was lovely and also sorted me out with a knife to do DD's birthday cake. We ate that much we gave them the other half of the cake (it was only a small one).

Sunday up and out early again and did the bus tour. Unfortunately there was a really long queue at Euston to put our luggage there so we had to take it on the bus with us. This hindered us getting off at each stop we would have liked so we didn't get off until Harrods. Then we were stopped going in with our cases and their charge was £25 each case. So we went in for a walk round separately. I didn't stay in there long as I was worried about DD outside even though she was sat with the concierge man (while waiting for me she saw David Walliams come out and was so excited lol). I just went in and got her a souvenir. Then it was time to get something to eat and head home. Went so quick, but we are arranging to go down again at the end of her school year. Talking to a family on the way home who had stayed at and Airbnb and I think I would do that next time.

So moneywise, budget still ok but mum lent me £50 as an emergency back up which I did only break into for food on the last evening (still came back with some). I have already sorted how I will pay her back though. My phone contract was up for renewal and just got the next free phone paying just about the same but with more data and storage so I am going to sell my old phone. That should cover it hopefully and its payday on Friday.

I did manage my 4 NSD's last week so I am going to try and do the December challenge if I can find it and not spend any money other than what is allocated in my budget.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and I will catch up on diaries and the bullet journal thread tomorrow. College tomorrow and I have just finished my homework, naughty me).

    Take care.

  • Ohhhh forgot to mention, I went for my Asthma test again tonight and I have got the all clear!!!!

The nurse said there is a bit of damage that will hopefully improve over time and I still have to check my peak flow once a week to make sure it doesn't drop now that I have finished my steroids but I am one very happy person. I even managed the whole weekend only using my inhaler once, on Oxford Street, but I think that was the fumes that got to me.

Now time to shift a bit of weight and start eating better and more regularly. The shock really made me take stock of the way I was abusing my body. Hardly ever drink so don't have that to worry about but do occasionally eat carp food.

    Take care.
