  • Thank you for the replies. I'm still trying to put the letter together but I'm not getting my point across properly without ranting. I want them to realise how serious this was for me.

Not been a good day in work today but I'm hoping for a better one tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

  • Have just finished reading your thread Tinkerbelle and wow are you doing well. So much that you've had to deal with and you have kept on going - you're brilliant.
I bet there are template complaint letters online if you look - not that they might fit your criteria but it might help you find the right tone of voice. I put this search into google "template complaint letter about a gas leak" and there were several options that came back.
If it is the council then they also have a duty of care to you.

May I ask which hostel you were looking at in London. I've not used them, I tend to use the Travelodges but you do have to be very quick to get the cheap prices, but DS1 has stayed in a couple so I can give you some advice if it would help. Essentially clean, reasonably comfortable, safe and well located for starters.

And on the subject of your ex - you have been amazing in your handling of that situation and getting your DD and you into a happier place. I was thinking that if you haven't already deleted the messages, and I could completely understand why you would - it might be worth saving them in case you need to make an official complaint against him. They can be exported to an email address so that you don't have to have them on your phone any longer as you wouldn't want that reminder.

I look forward to seeing what next you're going to accomplish.

  • Hi Joey. Thank you for reading and the lovely reply. I can't believe you read it all lol.

I hadn't thought about googling for a letter. That is now my first job today. Thank you for that idea.

Also, yes I have kept the messages but I didn't realise you could export to an email address. I do need to keep them, just in case, but I hate seeing his name in my messages. I will have a look how to do that later. That will be lovely to get rid of them.

I will have to have a look on my pc later which hostel. I can't remember the name. But any recommendations would be appreciated. I've only been on a day trip to London before so I'm as excited as DD.

Work front all is good now. Got a little worried for a minute that things weren't going to pan out as I thought they would. I do love my job so much.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and the sun is out again here. What's that all about lol.

    Take care.

    Hello lovely Tink,

I'm so sorry to hear how things have been for you recently. How awful. I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit rubbish and tired with a gas leak going on! Thank goodness you found it and can deal with it!

I'm sorry too that your ex is causing you issues. Please don't listen to a word he says and it's all said to manipulate you into feeling you've got no other options but him! That's not true. You're wonderful, and even though I don't know you in real life, we get to hear your inner thoughts and processes, sometimes more than real life people do so we can still make valid comments like that to you.

    How are you feeling now?

    MTxx
  • Hi Tinks,
No contact is the only way to go with the ex. The fact he is contacting you shows you he needs you more than you need him.

You have made such a positive outcome for yourself and DD you should be very proud of you so don't forget how strong you really are :)

  • Hi Tinkerbelle,

Have just read your diary from the beginning, so great to see how far you've come and you've got a fab place for you, your DD and Mr D :) ignore your ex, he knows what he's lost and you're so strong without him - so he's lashing out. Hold your head high and keep up the fantastic work you're doing :D
  • Thank you lovely ladies and a big thank you to Jumberlina for making it through my ramblings. I have not heard anything else so hopefully he has realised and give up. I would never ever go back to him. I love my evenings and my bed to myself too much and I like spending the extra time with DD and her BF. Teaching them to cook different meals at the moment which I am really enjoying and they just come to help without even been asked which is lovely.

The black cloud has been hovering a bit this week but I don't know why. I've had a positive week in work although a bit quite and I've met up with a really old school friend. We have know each other since we were four and she was my birthing partner but we lost touch for a while. It's been nice to see her a couple of times this week. Also, another friend text me first seeing how I was and that was nice as its usually me who makes first contact.

Spreadsheet still looking good, had to make a couple of alterations but nothing too drastic. I totally understand the saying living frugally now. I budget £40 a week for our food and most of that is gone on my weekly shop with a little left over to buy extra milk during the week. I had a little windfall in the week from my allotment sales so I treated us all to a takeaway as we haven't had one for ages, paid a little off the debt and bought DD a new pair of earings as she had lost one of her favourite ones a few weeks ago.

Today I went to see the friend I mentioned earlier and helped her to do her son's tax return and she gave me money for doing it which I didn't want to take but she said she would be offended if I didn't take it so I have plans to buy myself a couple of tops tomorrow which are so overdue lol.

I have a door full of DD's clothes that she wants putting on ebay and I have put it off for ages but I am going to try and do that this weekend so she has some extra money towards some winter clothes.

And lastly I've made a firm decision on what I will be selling on my etsy shop and I'm really excited. It has little outlay but I do need a couple of items to start making the projects. Hopefully I will be able to open it in a couple of months and I should be ready for the craft fairs at Christmas time.

I hope everyone is well and that you all have a lovely weekend.

    Take care.

  • Lovely positive start to the weekend and the new season - good for you. You sound almost content or at least happy in your skin, which is all anyone can ask for. I'm so pleased for you.
Hope you have a great weekend.

  • A nice post to read, you have had your hands full in a good way!

Yes get going on ebay, it will make a difference! I used to sell all of DD's things on ebay until her cousins came along now everything gets handed down. Im glad to help them of course, but I miss the extra few pennies coming in!

  • Thank you Joey and Bellevie.

Well today I spent my extra money on two new tops. There was a little change which I bought a book for myself and a DVD for DD. I also managed to stick to my budget for my grocery money and my spreadsheet is matching the balance in my bank. Yay me lol :j:j

So, feeling brave, I ventured to the land of YNAB. Now I have set my accounts and budget up and I have put my debts in the non-budget accounts. Is that right? The only thing that is a bit annoying is that I get a wage every four weeks then on a Saturday I get my tax credits, on a Tuesday I get child benefit and also every four weeks I get a small CSA payment  Least said about that the better lol.

I'm hoping someone (Rosa & MT nudge nudge) can explain how the income works. Will I always be showing in a minus until each payment goes in until I get to the point where I have a months money in advance? Can't believe I deal with other peoples accounts every day and YNAB has me stumped :rotfl: I might spend some of tomorrow browsing on You Tube. That will be after I have listed some items on ebay :rotfl:.

I feel like my head is going to burst with ideas for my etsy shop. There are two items that I need to be able to make what I want to sell so I am thinking of asking for them as Christmas presents. My Auntie, Mum and Dad always ask what I want and I usually get vouchers so this will be better.

Dare I say I am so excited for Christmas this year, after having such a bad one last year. If you ask DD it was good but inside my stomach was churning all day. I hated the run up to it and everything to do with it. I've already decided what I am buying. Luckily I only have a small family so the list isn't that long. I shouldn't be thinking about this yet with DD's birthday the month before but I can't help it. Even she said today she was feeling festive so it must be rubbing off lol.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

    Take care.
