  • Thanks ever so much Florence.

Feeling so positive today. Diet is going well as is money saving.

Decided to ditch the horrid false nails that are costing me £17 pounds a month and grow and repair my own. Hair needs cutting and colouring soon so the money can go towards that. For the first time ever I have stuck to a target this far in. I have £15 left in my purse. But I have £400 left in my account to pay off debt this time next week plus £125 in savings.

Why did I not do this before!!! If I work really hard I may be able to take another month off my DFD!

One poll is at £36.55. Hoping to get to £40 by the end of the month and I have listed 5 things on eBay.

This last stretch is going to be hard but I can do this!!!

Practically half the way there despite relapses and lack of focus at times. You're doing brilliantly! Well done you. Almost time for a savings goal! X
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800
  • Thanks so much Kitten. I have been thinking about a saving goal and hoping for £5k by Christmas! I will start a new diary once debt free although not sure I can do it on this board :(

New day and all that jazz! I have lost 4lbs this week on my diet :j Another stone to go!

Totals are all going great. One poll is feeling a little slow over the past few days but I have managed two NSD's. Hoping to keep my emergency £15 until I get paid. I've turned into a bit of a money hoarder!

I really need to up my game with the eBay stuff. I have so much I had put aside to sell (its currently in a big box under the bed and i haven't missed one piece of it) So it obviously needs to go. All the time its sat there I am accruing (albeit small amounts) of interest on my debt.

I have paid another £100 off of my credit card and £300 is sat in my bank waiting to be transferred closer to pay day. Over the past few days/weeks its become obvious to me that I am more focused when I round all the little numbers off, both in cash and in my accounts.

I made a little card yesterday to slip into my wallet (its shown in my avatar). Its the same size as a debit card and sits in front of my main bank account card (I have a separate account for allocated spending money) I can just see the quote in my signature and when I take it out it shows my DFD. Anytime I have to/want to spend from that main account I am reminded of why its a good idea not to. So far it has really helped.

Despite all of this there is still the elephant in the room. On payday I've got the car booked in for its MOT. I have £240 saved but if it is going to cost me any more than that it will ruin any chance of bringing the DFD forward to end of May!
  • Morning all. Its amazing how quickly Monday rolls around. I feel so drowsy this morning. Anyway I have realised that I haven't spent a penny since last Saturday. Its amazing how quickly they roll around when you just take each day as it comes.

I lent my brother £15 about 8 months ago and he paid me back at the weekend. I have £30 in my purse now.

The last £1.15 of OnePoll is taking forever!!!

Sold 4/5 items on ebay. All small amounts but better than nothing. I need to package some things up tonight and will list some more over the next few days.

Paid the remaining £300 off my CC!!!! It's all starting to come together.

    MCBYH x
  • Over half way there!!!!!

17 weeks and 4 days (maybe less) until I am debt free!!!!!!

  • Really inspiring when people do well getting rid of their debt.

Well done, and you will be debt free before you know it.

It does feel great paying off the debt. I am hoping my journey will end around this time next year.
    Feb £22,608, Weight 18st, 2 x cards, 2 x loans.
  • Thank you Letmefree. All the best of luck with your journey! I'm in a fortunate position that my outgoings are tiny so I have a lot of spare cash to throw at the debt.

I think the biggest change has been in my attitude. Before Christmas I was no where near as determined but something just seemed to click. I'm fed up of letting this debt cast a big black cloud over my life. I can start to see the sun peaking through now!

Even my OH has commented how happier I seem now. Its honestly the best thing I've ever done. I've now convinced my best friend to start a spending diary x

Haven't managed an NSD for the past two days :(

Spent £1.50 on some nail files and £3.50 on one of those Royal Mail rulers. I think the majority of my parcels could go as large letters but the lady in the post office never puts them through the ruler so she charges me for a small parcel!

Anyway I've left £20 out of my purse with my lovely mum to send them for me. Must buy her something lovely for mothers day. She's an amazing support.

Anyway diet is going pretty well. Only 3 days to go for Payday!
  • Well yesterdays trip to the post office was disastrous. The man overcharged on 3 of my parcels. Anyway my little ruler has come so I'm going to print them off next time. I have also put in a formal complaint about the guy. I hate to think how many people he is ripping off. It may only be 75p each time but that will really add up with the amount I am going to be sending. It cost me £11.20 to send four items.

Going to spend tonight eBaying more stuff.

I only have the a £5 note left in my purse. The other change went to the Sealed pot and I spent £10 on a course of 5 classes at the gym.

One poll is at £39.20 ... Its so close I can taste it :j

Got a small amount of back pay coming my way tomorrow, £40ish I think so that will go towards the CC interest.

I have a birthday coming up so need a pressie for that but I have a £5 off £30 spend at Matalan so me and my mum are going together this weekend. Whilst I am in town I need to pick up a few cards and the card shop is cheaper than the supermarkets.

Will order Mum's mothers day gift on Friday too.

Dreaded Car MOT is on Friday *Gulp*
  • Nothing much to post really today. The birthday club at work got me and the fiver was broken into therefore the rest of the change went into the sealed pot. I cant wait to crack it open!!!

Anyway moved the extra spare odds and ends around my account. Savings are currently £166.

One poll is at £39.60. Why is the last bit so hard!!!

Can't say I am looking forward to this month I feel like there will be alot to pay out. Photographed loads of things for ebay last night and just list the odd ones when I have a spare 5 mins. If I earn an extra £300 or so I could be debt free in 13 weeks!

That's my target!!! Hoping the universe agrees and my car passes its MOT tomorrow!
