moneycantbuyyouhappiness wrote: »So I haven't been posting on here nearly as much as I should have. Payday has been and gone and I have worked out I have paid £1778.12 off my debt so far, which equates to about 24%. This really should be encouraging but I know I still have a way to go with my spending habits.
This weekend my OH learned about the extent of my debt. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be and although he was understandably upset and hurt that I had lied to him he understood that I had been trying to sort it myself. He keeps saying we will sort it out together but I really feel I need to do this alone otherwise how will I learn. Anyway attempting a NSD today. I didn't manage one yesterday but going to try for a week of them.
Well done for telling him- that's better for the long run. And well done on the 24%....keep going!- DFD 4th July 2015

Hi there, well done on the debt payments you're not a failure at all, you have it all out in the open with oh, but now have to prove you can do it on your own, perhaps that's what's making you feel as you do, I found it easier when I did it on my own as it was only me I was letting down when I had a hiccup and I did have a few hiccups!, but when oh knew it made me try harder to prove I could do it, and I ended paying it off quicker as I was really determined!!!! So stop beating yourself up be proud to have started this journey and look forwards to being debt free and buying your own home, we all have carp days on this journey but you have taken the first few steps now and doing really well.

Thank you so much for your lovely words of encouragement Nannyg, Wishus and Miss Shoes. It really means a lot.
Having a much better day today and feel so much more on track.
Found a brilliant job I'm going to apply for. More money, closer to the area we want to move to, I could potentially walk so would be able to have one car between us, its also term time only so it would be brilliant for when we start a family.
Also going to take a look at eBaying some stuff tonight or at least clearing some things out. I want to try and raise £100 exclusive of fees on there so I have a bit of a buffer over Xmas.0 -
You're making great moves into debt-busting MCBYH! Inspirational. Well done love! x0

Thank you ever so much PeppaCoin. This is such a lovely place and it is really helping me.
Had another little victory today. I bought an item from eBay a few weeks ago, it wasn't as described and was in a fairly poor state
The seller was refusing to let me return it for a refund so I was going to list it on. Then I thought no this is not right I will fight this! It got me so upset she was insinuating that I had lied about the damage and when I list anything especially something of a certain value I am so meticulous.
This morning eBay have asked me to return it for a full refund. :T
That's £187.50 that will be added back to the Credit Card. I'll top it up to £200 to keep my exact numbers going. :beer:0 -
Happy Monday all, I've not been here much the last couple of days but had a great weekend. Only spend to note was £1 for Children in Need and £10 on some flowers for my MIL. She was so down at the weekend so I bought her some to cheer her up. Anyway we've been looking at houses on Right Move over the weekend just to keep me motivated. 16 Days til Payday and I have built up a little buffer for my City trip x0

Having a good few days. Waiting for the refund to come through for my ebay purchase. Spent a little on some groceries last night to try and help me not eat so much rubbish and save the temptation of the vending machine. My One Poll is up to £22. Hoping to get this to £40 before xmas.
My spend today will be some Xmas wrapping I think and hopefully that will b all.0 -
So all in all a good few days. I'm not exactly having NSDs at the moment but they are definitely low spends. My car decided to tell me it needed an oil change this morning Great!
Feel like I am taking one step forward one step back and it is still ages until pay day. On a better note the refund has come through for my ebay purchase.0 -
Not been on here for 5 days. Still trudging away. Car is going into the Garage tonight:eek: worried about it already. I feel like I am taking a step back but at the end of the day I actually have available credit I can use which I wouldn't have at the beginning of this journey. My cards were at the max!
I also have a bit of cash in my purse that I have been squirrelling away for my weekend away. I may use this instead of the CC for the car repairs not sure yet. Will see how I get on first. :j
I just need to keep reminding myself that no matter how rubbish these next couple of days are I am in a much better position than I used to be!0
