So Payday has been and gone.
I paid another chunk off my CC. Total in my signature. I have £4000 left to shift. Hoping to pay off another £500 before the end of the month. It should be easily achievable if I am strict with my budget.
I have managed and NSD today yey!!
I have around £70 of spending money left and have put £100 into savings. I'm trying to pay as much off the debt as I can as I know I have quite a few bills to cover in my March/April pay.0 -
Well last night I was going through my bedside drawer. I found an entry in a notebook from 12.11.14 with a total of the debt I owed. It was almost 10k at that point. That was the first and last entry. Seeing it on paper must have had a bit of an effect. I'd managed to reduce this to 7.3k by August but I think about how far I have come now in those 5 short months. In another 5 it should be gone. I can't help but be proud. I still have the nagging little voice in my head that scalds me for ever getting into this position in the first place but what good will that do. I have savings for the first time in my life! I am planning and saving for the short term outlay rather than putting them on CC.
Anyway two NSD's in the past two days. I've lost 7lbs on my diet and I'm currently doing the sealed pot challenge.
Happy Tuesday everyone! x0 -
Looking forward to the weekend I've had a good few NSDs over the last few days. I'm starting to get into the habit. I paid £15 in fees to transfer a balance so all of my £3900 debt is on one card. It actually makes me feel more organised.
Once this is paid off I will keep my Halifax card open for emergencies as it only has a £1000 limit. I dont want the temptation.0 -
So all in all everything is going pretty well. Listed something on ebay today and sold an item at the weekend. I'm keeping the money in my paypal until it reaches £50 then it will get paid off the CC.
I have £52 left in my spending budget and have put £200 in savings for car expenses which are due over the next few months. Still over two weeks to Payday.
Onepoll is almost at £34! Hoping to be able to reach £40 by the middle of March.0 -
Fantastic work. Sounds like you've really got a grip on it.0

Thank you Tiger eyes. Its so amazing how much of difference shifting half of this has made. My outlook does feel so much better.
Managed my third NSD in row today. Went out for a birthday celebration on Saturday night and ended up with around £15 in change so it has all gone into the sealed pot. I'll open it a month before my DFD to see if I can bring it forward a little.
I've pushed my DFD back to 24th June (only 19 weeks and 3 days). I had originally hoped for the end of April which is a bit of a dream considering I hadn't budgeted for car expenses due before then.
So the target now is to try and scrape together £650 extra by the end of May. Hopefully If I reach this target I can bring my DFD forward to 26th May.
Hoping to do this by:
- Selling bits on eBay (I still have loads to clear)
- OnePoll Surveys
- Sealed Pot Challenge. (I very rarely use cash so when I do all the change gets put in the pot)
- Try walking to work twice a week to save on fuel and hopefully lose a few lbs

Yet another NSD today :A I am going to try for a 10 day streak!
Still got £50 in my spending account only expecting to spend about £25 of it as I will need fuel before Payday.
Hopefully I can put the rest into savings.
Having an early finish from work today so going to list some things on eBay tonight. Everything will be relisted once. If it still doesn't sell it will go to a charity shop!

Didn't manage an NSD yesterday. oh well! I ran out of face cream and thought I had some in my stash. Anyway popped to Aldi and tried a cheaper alternative at 3.99 it seems ok so far. Also bought a few grocery bits while I was there. I got a lot of snack to stop me being tempted by the vending machine at work. (I love how cheap Aldi is!!!) So all in all a spend of £11.40.
Anyway onwards and upwards today. Got nothing planned for the weekend so should be a no spend one. Onepoll is at £35.85!0 -
I haven't managed any NSDs over the weekend I have bought a few bits to make OH a cake for valentines day and filled the car with diesel.
My spending fund is £0 but I have £15 in my purse for emergencies. 11 days to Payday.
-Onepoll is at £36.20
-Sealed pots are coming along nicely.
-I'm using the rounding methods in my bank accounts which is definitely helping to increase the savings pot.
-Off to do and hour of tidying/ebaying now I aim to list 10 items.
Happy Monday all!0 -
