So if it only took half an hour why did it take 9-12 months? He is quite happy to admit that he has learned a valuable lesson..
He's obviously as good at procrastinating as the rest of us here.....

    Narc0 OMG, poor postie!

looked at the laundry basket, then got distracted

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: remember this when you're cross with your charges come September;)

I have picked the rest of the blackcurrants, stripped my bed and taken DD to work. Oh I washed some pots, too. And brought in some dry laundry.

Little boy moo is loads brighter today thanks iona xx

Not really caught up - we've been out most of the day, but I have just made a proper dinner with steak and roast veg and yorkies puds for DS. Had a lovely catch up with friends we've not seen for months - then got some much needed bits from Mr S and we are about to sit, eat and relax for the night. Missed a few hours sleep last night so won't be having a late one tonight.

Tomorrow I have catching up to do and ballet, a nap and a late party. Feels thoroughly disorganised here. I'm not sure if it's that making me feel anxious or upcoming holiday or just a general 'meh' that my life isn't going anywhere. Maybe I need a bit of thinking time.

Anyway, I'll give my head a shake and look forward!

We had a grand day with DGD1+2 here. DH taught them how to drive a train (on the G gauge garden railway) and I made monster pictures with them. We also turned the LR upside down to replicate a children's playground, with roundabout (DH's revolving chair), stepping stones (cushions on the floor) and a wonderful climbing frame/slide (DH - his idea ;)) Goodness knows what they will have told their parents :o

DDiL2 has asked me to make the biggest possible square fruit cake (I have a 12" tin) for DGS4's baptism in October. I also have to make The Cake for my goddaughter's wedding in March, so best get down to it next week. Definitely not in the SW plan, but who cares? :D

I have been getting rid of a few more pages every time I've passed the shredder - less than a packet of paper left to go now, so I expect to finish it all tonight and will be able to drop off the bags at the tip on my way home from church on Sunday. DH is having the car tomorrow to go and play on the railway, so I shall be left at home to get on with my jobs in peace. We have plenty of leftovers to eat, and the house is already clean and tidy, so I shall be concentrating on updating the remaining resource boxes.

I opened the front door this afternoon, just to pop out to the bin, and discovered a bunch of beautiful maroon and white chrysanthemums on the doorstep, with no ID. I did wonder if the Flylady Secret Santa had been doing his rounds again! But an hour later I had a phonecall from the friend who had been hosting the Chernobyl children, apologising for dropping them off without a note. Strangely, we were at home all afternoon and didn't hear the doorbell. Perhaps we were just having too much fun with DGD1+2 :rotfl:

Hope your postie hasn't been put off by his nasty experience today, Narc0. How are your neighbours?

I think the shredder has cooled down now, so will get back to it.
    ETA Finished :)

    Bedside table cleaned
    Wardrobe sorted
Box of stuff to sell put under the bed so I have room for packing

Apparently she is fairly philosophical; being given message to ring police she was alarmed as she has grown up children living in various places, so it was a relief in a way that it was "only" theft. But they got her jewellery box, apparently not huge monetary value as some items were from her mother, and her late husband. Still can't believe the cheek of it in broad daylight - I often work from home, my immediate neighbours are both retired, J herself works part time but not regular, predictable hours, neighbour over road does local cleaning jobs so again not predictable. Horrid.

2nd load of washing on line.
    Patio and greenhouse watered.
2 baskets clean clothes folded appropriately.
    Dinner on to cook.
Mr N is hanging beautiful cleaned curtains and has painted some of the areas around the windows. Not too much to make good luckily.

Tomorrow is my last weekend at home before holiday, so I need to use it wisely. Next weekend I'm down at my brother's near Basingstoke for the Carfest.
2 assessments booked for next week and 1 student lesson at home.

  • Evening all,

Well I ended up staying at the paid stuff longer than I had to in order to make up a bit of flexi-time, so no much done from list. Msgnomey I'm a tiny bit jealous re HHI to empty ironing basket. I've done HHI today and it looks no smaller!
Only just got DDs to bed, DD2 had major meltdown over nothing due to overtiredness. I foolishly mentioned she was only like this because she was tired, which provoked much kicking out of legs and foot stamping.:o
OH very miserable as he has joined me on the diet.
Narco that is a horrible thing to happen, hope you and you neighbour. (and the postie) are ok x
