  • In other news at Yorkietowers DS has finally mended his bed! He bought it when he moved back in 18 months ago. He bought it from a well known internet site and from the beginning the slats were rubbish.

Two nights ago he went to a well known DIY store and bought some wood. It took him half an hour to cut it to size and fit the extra slats.

His bed is now 'Fantastic' - his words.

So if it only took half an hour why did it take 9-12 months? He is quite happy to admit that he has learned a valuable lesson..

Have skim read Fred but done zilch.

About the thundershirt, I just wanted to say, Natty, (thanks to Dizzy) that they're worth the money. I've just checked the Bay of E and there are several for sale in the UK but more from the USA. If I need another one I'd be very happy with a used one again - I'm sure they'd be fine run through the WM on cold as per the label. A neighbour and I took Kelpie on the Mountbatten Ferry twice a couple of weeks ago and he was absolutely petrified of the metal walkway and then getting on the ferry. I'm going to try trotting him down there and playing with him near the walkway and then putting the t/shirt on, and when he's really relaxed (which takes a few minutes) see if that eases his tension. It might, and it's worth a try. If I can get him to go up and down three or four times when he's feeling calmly sleepy it's got to be good for him. We want to take him on the Cawsand ferry and then back on the Cremyll ferry in a couple of weeks so that he can share our anniversary, so we need him to be okay to enjoy the day out. He's not a dog who relishes new situations; he likes his routines although he loves meeting new people.

It was lovely to meet you Valli and your jam is superb! OH says thank you thank you thank you - one for each jar. Your DD is an impressive, very together, intelligent, delightful young woman, so thank you for bringing her with you. And I hope you enjoyed the cream tea as much as we enjoyed our 'teas.' Good choice on the dress; very smart.
    Better is good enough.

I switched on the PC some 2 hours ago but...

I have pegged out washing. I am currently 'ignoring' the drizzle;)
I have had a call back from the window man (we used him in a previous house) and a quote has been quoted
I have taken my friend to the station; she's of to the Edinburgh Fringe and, since I'm off work I thought I would do my BRUM bit (happy to help!)
    I have done another errand.
I have checked next doors bunny rabbits.
I have checked my bunny rabbit.

Ah - my secret's out! It was a delight to meet you Honey Bear and Mister Bear and I am envious of your location - and your beautiful home. I fully intend to add ginger to MY next batch of Twinks! And I now have seen the view pictured in your avatar in real life! (I think that about my DD too, but then, I would. I miss her terribly when she's at Uni. I miss DS too but I always had DD at home when he went.)
And I mustn't forget Devil Cat (a lovely cat) and Kelpie - what a smily doggy! He looked SO happy!

    Anyway back to my listy.

Well, I have been getting on. But everything seems to be at half speed today. We have been swimming, gots ds1s uniform from uniform shop, ordered ds2s bed and took car to garage.
This afternoon ds1 has polished kiddes bedrooms. He loves that job but does use an awful lot of polish! I have tidied ds2s room of all the gibble that was left over from putting his curtain pole up yesterday and then I started on his curtains. I gaff took them done, added more curtain hooks and more rings on the curtain pole. I then ironed them before putting them back up. They look much better! :T

Just having a quick cold drink and the cat has sat on my knee! Like I need any encouragement to sit for longer! But I must hang the washing out or it won't dry!

    Quick update if the list....

I think I'm a day behind on reporting my random list.
Yesterday passed in a blur having done Cycle and Tone followed by Body Balance at the gym. I haven't done C&T before, it was much harder than I expected considering how many mad classes I've done lately. No weight loss apparent on scales this morning, but definitely starting to be a better shape which is all that matters really (although it is nice to have a number). This morning it was Body Attack - my 7th class this week, so I jolly well deserve to be fit and shapely in my opinion. Followed it with lunch, but I had a salmon salad so not too detrimental.

Windows are now all finished. Copious amounts of vacuuming have been done, but every now and then I find another crunchy bit of something underfoot so I guess it will take a while. Fitters kindly left the crawl board on the conservatory and a decent ladder for the weekend so Mr N can paint the bits of the outside wall that need doing.

    Collected curtains from dry cleaners.
    Bought wedding card.
    1 load washing done.
    emails checked.
    Surveys logged in.

Ugh - just had neighbour round to tell me that about noon, the postman walked up the drive of 3 houses down to be greeted by broken glass and some burglars who threatened him with a knife. He ran and called the police, burglars screeched away. This is a small village, we dont' get that sort of thing - occasional petty pilfering of cycles, lawnmowers etc. But broad daylight! Must have been drugged or stupid. Neighbour reckoned maybe they had been driving up and down seeking opportunity, as my window man was there till about 11.30, I came home about 2pm and my neighbour shortly after. I don't know whether anything was taken.

Oh well better get on with something.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
