I lost 2 posts last night - so fingers crossed it's third time lucky.

I have had a couple of good days recently. hope it continues.

re the iron debate - I was trying to say that I have had all manner of irons including an expensive steam generator. I did like the steam generator and it did work well, but I live in a hard water area and despite following the instructions to the letter and descaling it regularly it took just over a year before it started belching black gunge over my clean stuff.

So my advice would be to proceed with caution if your water is soft... but do some research first...

I am currently back on a reasonably expensive ordinary steam iron. The thing I won't concede on is a ceramic soleplate, which I find much easier to clean..

And as regards cleaning the soleplate of an iron - I will concede that despite nearly 28 years experience I am not as careful an ironer as I should be. but the stuff sole by Lakel**d is an absolute godsend!

Am I highly organised or obsessive? You decide! :rotfl:
Highly organised, definitely. You've done pretty much exactly what I would have, given the same amount of stuff to be sorted/shifted.;)

Nicki healing vibes on the way for the woofer.

Mr LW is wfh today (so that he'd be here to deal with the engineer who came to sort out my mobility scooter) so I'm getting zilch done - very difficult to Fly when he's sitting at his desk in the lounge, having to concentrate on his paid-job work. BM is on though, and we've decided on carrot, ginger & honey soup for dins - I'm still on soft food, and there are some carrots that need using.;)

    Hi all

LW I find it really hard to do anything when DH is at home.

I am home alone which is a rare thing. Have scooped various bits of clothing from bedroom floors which I have just put through on a quick wash. Put some clean laundry away, made a casserole for tea and tidied various bits of gibble.

Natty I am a bit short of motivation too. I am not stopping for long because I know that once I sit down that will be it.

I am getting a bit fed up with the lack of routine here. I never know who is in for tea, who needs picking up or dropping off where and dont get me started on teenagers going for a shower at 11pm!!! I love them really but roll on 7th September.

Hope master Bossy is OK. Its horrible when they are poorly in the hols.

Right, living room awaits and the dog needs walking.
  • Hi all,

    Wooty wooty woot woot!

While DS was away he was instructed to 'go and find a suit' (This is for a wedding on the 30th ) IF you have read my list (and no reason why you should, lol, other than 'mild interest' ;)) you will have seen the last entry on my Summer TOOTS list is 'buy wedding outfit' - that would be for me. On the 30th. Cutting it fine as ever...

Well DS found a suit, so we went to pick it up today and I popped into Roman (next door) on the off chance; found 3 suitable dresses - I especially liked the one ion the window - and I have BOUGHT IT - now I am not a keen clothes buyer so it's always a chore. And blow me if the fascinator and bag I have don't go with it. Wooty wooty woot woot with nuts and sauce on!

Hope master Bossy is OK. Its horrible when they are poorly in the hols.

He's ok thanks. Ish. Not himself at all and hot so we've been popping paracetamol now and then. Of course he still runs around which probably doesn't help. I don't think I've been feeding them very well. Having said that, they didn't get home till Tuesday night and they ate at school club yesterday. Just feel like I haven't cooked a proper dinner in a while. With vegetables...
