    Hi JD

Great to have you along and to welcome a fellow YNABber!!
I've used it for over a year now but I too started again on January 1st when I subscribed to the newer version. Love the goal setting feature.
Since then I've been making massive inroads into my debt and towards becoming organised.

    How's it going for you?

    Tx:D

I have to say, it's the best piece of software I've ever used...budgeting or not!

I also started the new version on Jan 1st and I love it! The goal setting feature is just brilliant:T And it is all helping to build my buffer. I hope to be fully buffered by August...that's the plan anyway.

Well done on your mortgage too! And an AOM of 56 is pretty darn impressive:D

    Thanks JamieDodger,

I think my AOM is high because my earnings are seasonal with January being my best month. Hence I'm quite flush at the moment, budgeting well into April.

:j:j. Oh my goodness, how time flies. I find myself not having posted for 3 months which is a poor show but to be honest, I'd lost my mojo for money saving and have had a bit of time off. I haven't been splurging but I've not really been paying heed to my spends.

Anyway, I got a lovely letter from the mortgage company this morning telling me that my payments have been adjusted downwards backdated to 1st January which is great since I overpay, so more of my pennies have been overpaying the mortgage. It's renewed my vigour to keep up with stuff.

Will do the sums and post back in a bit.

Nice to be posting again - I find I've missed it and I've missed you all too.

Please post to let me know you're not cross for having been abandoned!!:D

Consider yourself yellow carded - once more and you're out :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Hi Thistle, have you got your polish and dusters ready - there will be a few cobwebs to shift :rotfl:

Great to hear your overpayments have helped.

Isn't it time for a trip to Cornwall bell ringing?

    Hi Tilly,

There certainly are a few cobwebs to shift! In fact it's amazing how quickly the entropy crashes in when you take your eye off the ball.

My finances have a bit of a hole in them as OH decided he wanted to buy a Bechstein Grand piano so I lent him the money so he wouldn't have to pay interest on a loan. He'll have paid it off by Christmas 2017 but every time he pays an amount towards it I transfer it to the Credit Card. I've almost got this covered anyway - I'm only about £900 short.

I'm gutted because I've missed out on 5 months of bonuses since January because my SW groups are not quite where they need to be. It's cost me about £3,000 altogether so I'm making it a priority to keep supporting my members so they don't leave group.

I'm bringing my YNAB spreadsheet up to date and then I'll be able to see where there's work to do.

    Wish me luck!

    Hello everyone,:j

Oh the irony of that last message on my diary, posted a full 9 months ago!

I'm back on my mortgage free quest and I haven't been doing too badly whilst I've been away. I have had a hip replacement though which was something I have needed for a long time, so at least something has moved on.

Going to try to get back into this money saving game again. Will be redoing my signature in a wee while to gee myself up.

Hope you'll all drop by for a chinwag....
